Buxfer: Budget & Money Manager for Android
This app looks good and is kind of easy to use, but it wasn't until after upgrading to pro that I realized that it wasn't syncing to my accounts in the background, but would only sync when I opened the app and entered a security code texted from Wells Fargo. This is tedious and defeats the purpose of alerts on my accounts if the app doesn't know what's going on when I don't have it open. When I emailed customer support (because obviously they have no phone number), I got NO RESPONSE even after emailing a few times. For paying 40-some bucks you think they'd ba able to staff a few customer support folks to answer my email. My last qualm is that when you make budgets, there's nothing (I don't think) telling you what all your budgets add up to. So when I wanted to see what all my budgets left me with and how that related to what I bring in every month, I had to whip out the old calculator. Really??? Maybe I'm wrong, but the only way I would know is if they would answer my damn emails. Now looking for a new way to track my money. Wish I hadn't upgraded.
Can't login with Google. Doesn't recognize Google account.

I bought th subscription and have been using web version for more than 3years. But Android version is not at all friendly. Needed better improvement. Also making it offline supports helps the app to make it fast

Trust me, this application is like it is coded as part of some kid's elementary school homework. 1) It is unable to get currency via some web service, so you need to specify currency exchange rate every now and then 2) All accounts are the same, no matter of type. That means it is not aware of your CC limits or how close are you to limits, not to mention any interests etc. 3) Forecast functionality is that glitchy that it will actually count money spend from any budget as your net worth increase since it calculates net worth like: Your net worth + INCOME - BUDGETED EXPENSE + EXPENSE FROM BUDGET THAT YOU HAVE SPENT All in all, every 10 min of use, there is 2 BUGs. I can't stress enough how it suck and I can't believe that anyone has a nerve to charge for this crap.
Don't know what happened after the latest update..there are too many bugs...please rectify them or role back the update...
More like a mobile optimized version of the site than an actual app.
It's ok, but it's hardly an app. Seems it's just a WebView container for the website. Gives a lazy impression. Maybe an actual app is in development... But I can just as easily load buxfer in my browser with identical function. Overall, the service is good.
It's a good start but I'm just not impressed, it offers less than apps like Mint and level and the UI is just way worse. If it were better and more powerful, more stats available and such I would gladly pay monthly.
Great app because it combines web and mobile app, but mobile app doesn't work offline :(
Superb. Best option in UK. I use the app predominantly to check on transactions while entering and tagging most of my transactions on the excellent PC version.. Off line version would be a nice touch.
Have a paid plan and use it mostly on the phone. Could be a bit faster but it's a good simple app regardless

This app has come a long way. In terms on interface, I like the overall feel. However I'm unable to use every single feature as I use in PC. Hence I'm having to keep going back my PC to enter some transactions. Request you to improve on that. Further, if you could add one feature it'll be great. In India we get SMS for each debit or credit to account. I want Buxfer to detect it and ask me what to do about it.
I like this app. It is functional and useful. The changes I make to transactions in the app are sync'ed with the website. Having my budget progress handy is great. The developer responds to issues quickly, so give them some feedback if you have improvement ideas.
No effort put in while designing this app. Not even close to the web version although the web version features are questionable as well. If i have to calculate who owes me what, its not really solving the purpose. Quite bad.

Has good use, especially its also even super on the web, seriously needs offline mode, please fix the offline, still can't add while offline
Has everything I need, specifically the forecast.
Now the drop downs look and work much nicer, although it loads tags Everytime, she as users, instead of using internal memory. And a widget for quick adding transaction in home screen would be so awesome!

I appreciate that buxfer have been listening to feedbacks and made further enhancements to the app. But I have a small concern - it seems like the app doesn't allow me to "attach" contents by taking new image. It's a small hassle because I can only attach documents (so work around is I have to actually take all the images before opening the app). It's not a big problem but would be great if small changes are made to enhance productivity.
I like the app and the way the service works. I don't use the automatic linking as I'm in the UK, but offline access and a pin code to lock the app would be good I think.
I'm planning on signing up for a Pro account because I absolutely love the look and feel of this app. However, I can't sync with Citizen's Bank. I've filed a report with the support team and posted on the forums but have yet to get any response. There are others on the forum who have the same problem on my thread but no one at support has contacted us. Not even an acknowledgement of our issues. While it's a small team, I hope someone at least addresses our concerns.
Been using buzfer since 2010 and the app since 2013. It's amazing. Having offline option would greatly improve its experience.
I will happily update this review if I can ever get a response from the support "team". I submitted a ticket on June 30th and have heard absolutely nothing from Buxfer. My email created a Zendesk support ticket which I have checked and updated, but nothing but crickets from Buxfer. The web app was working like a charm and I was honestly loving it until it stopped syncing out of the blue after June 23rd. I spoke with my bank (Wells Fargo) and nothing has changed on their end. Come on Buxfer, I know you are a small shop, but you have got to respond to your clients!
It would be great if the selection of sharers by providing check boxes instead of selecting each sharer.

It helps me so much and helps me to make better decision. This a 4 star app. Originally i want to give 5 stars but i held back. It is because the experience in loading the data both on the mobile and pc is slow. I still can accept it though it is still not acceptable to most people. I hope the speed of using this great app both in the pc and the mobile can be much faster

I really find this a little less user friendly in comparison to other similar apps like splitwise. Moreover it keeps mailing me of any transactions added instead of notifying me in my app. Needs improvement.

I can't enable the passcode for the app on my Android Droid Turbo 2, but we can on all the Samsung devices. Like the app otherwise. Just getting started with it.
