Dashboard Cam (AdFree) for Android
I used the free app and it is great. I tried to run the paid version and it just crashes when I go to settings. Oh well... back to the free one I guess. Update: I found if I access Setting after starting the cam it works most of the time, so I am happier. Next issue. I tried the HD Video and it works fantastic, however it drains the battery faster than I can charge it in the car. About 30 minutes video to a dead phone.
The new version with the unlock code isn't as good as the pro version was.
Free version stuffed full of advertising and once paid for, the app repeatedly crashed, then reverted to the ad filled version. Not good. Cannot select sd external card for video storage, pointless setting if android OS doesn't allow sd storage.
Little to no camera controls in software. Both my HTC Evo 3D (720p 2D & 3D), Samsung Note 3 (4K) and Motorola Photon (1080p) video is very dark. Software always adjusting against skyline instead of the darker roadway. Also discovered that the overlays are not recorded into the mp4 video. Have gone back to using the factory video recorder. Need a OBD2 overlay system where it can record turn signal, brakes, rpm and speedometer into the video.

Simply Unreliable. This App often doesn't start recording when on and since it provides no visual feedback on if it is recording or not is useless for insurance purposes. This is a major failing given it's purpose to safeguard driver from blame in accidents. It should just start recording when started and stop when exited without 3 different nags when stopped. Also when it works the recorded video cannot be replayed on phone because of error. The 'help' website site is a mess and completely unhelpful with appalling grammar.
Oh updated to 3.3 and now crashes on start up - also using Samsung S4. Original review was; The settings crash has been fixed so using add free now. No problems and works like a charm. Already caught undertaking and people on their mobile phones-needs a report to the police button ha ha
The concept is good but the design has nothing to do with Android
PAID FOR THE APP Only 0.99 but still did not work comes up with a screen this is not a licensed application download in Google play
Doesn't work no matter what I do. Just stops and asks to send report.
Settings bug was fixed pretty quickly which was nice :) however, only saves images it seems, and for me the speed and map are saved upside down on image and map never zooms to street level (useless) - only shows an outline of my country.
Won't record video. Locks up EVER time I go to settings. Support is terrible. Waste of money. RAZR MAXX. I even tried it on another MAXX and same thing.

I absolutely love this app! The still frame animations are awesome! I have several animations on Flickr and everyone wants this app. I had the free version and loved it so much, I had to support the effort and get the paid app. If you try this app you'll be hooked like me. Now I can't wait to try the new video mode!
This app does not work at recording at all on ICS Razr. No instructions on what might be wrong.
I only used this at night as it was better than the standard recorder, during daytime resolution on the standard recorder is much better. However, this has gone from being a useful tool to a pain in the rear end to use. Deletion of files is hit or miss, and when trying to access 'My recorded files' system freezes! Deleted and reinstalled for the third and final time. Torque mixed with the standard video recorder i have found to be the best and most accurate system.
I originally got the free version which worked ok at first, except the speedo would not pair with my phone and display my speed on the analogue face or digital display. After efforts to sort the problem out finally caused the app to crash. I then decided to purchase the ad free version. This had exactly the same problem and also crashed. What initially seemed like a great app let itself down. No good in the end.
If new version has issues, try to uninstall and re-install fresh version of the app. This will solve problem.
Wow! So cool! I love it.
I use this app, droid3, and the windshield dock seamlessly. This is one of most valuable apps I own and use almost every time I get in the car. Smart!
Downloaded the free version, it was awesome. This version just has no ads even better.
