OSCPad

C'mon Let's Get Those Encoders Rockin. U are the only OSC App that fully displays on the HP Slate 21 Pro. Which is what I bought it for.

I got an inexpensive android tablet to work on my OSC projects and went on and on searching for a good OSC alternative since TouchOSC doesn't have an editor which renders it useless. I think I tried all possible OSC apps and this one was the best.

Already more functional than TouchOSC for Android. Just waiting for the next update which should introduce panels along with a few other improvements. Online layout editor is functional but a little sensitive to browser version but editing JSON files is quite easy and they can be read directly into the app.

Seems alright, but the online editor is down..

One of the best OSC apps for Android I've ever seen. It has some generic problems, like UI latency, DPI issues - that's on Nexus 4. The app is not native (UI over OpenGL), maybe that's ok. I would like to see more flexibility in general, since there are no apps for Android, that offer deep customization, at all. That's my opinion.

This app works, but I wish it had bidirectional support. TouchOSC can both send and receive OSC and so the control surfaces take values directly from the host app. It's like having automated faders. OSCPad doesn't do this. Instead you must touch each control to get its position synced to the host. The editor is very rudimentary and only seems to work in Chrome. On the plus side it seems to work on Chrome even on my Nexus 7. Editing the JSON files is pretty much required, but it's straightforward. I tend to use the editor to create "demo code" and then hack together my own layout in a text editor. The app's control surface GUI could use refinement. For instance, it's difficult to read the position of a bipolar slider -- the sliders don't have a visible "handle" to drag. A bipolar slider can easily be mistaken for a unipolar slider at 50%. Update: I've created a couple of TouchOSC layouts and loaded them successfully in OSCPad. This is a great feature.

The only feature that sets this apart from TouchOSC is the ability to custom make layouts, this would be fine if the online editor works, but I press export layout and absolutely nothing happens... I appreciate that there is a way to make templates via text, but this like far too much effort for a casual user like myself. From what I can see on the web the dev has gone quiet too, I've only rated it this high as it does have the same basic functionality as TouchOSC, but if I were you, I'd go and grab that instead.

Well worth the money if you're an OSC or MIDI geek. I can create my own templates using simple JSON based templates. The dev made a usergroup page with tutorials on how to get started. I'm off and running. There is also a beta version online editor that looks promising. I made my draft template there, then used DroidEdit to tweak it. The editor runs on PC/Mac/etc only, but DroidEdit runs on most Android devices, so once the basic template is made, i can tweak right on my Nexus 7. ALSO, you can make ANY size template, to optimize it for any device screensize, AND OSCPad scales it to fit. My template works on both my T-mobile myTocuh g4 and my Nexus 7. Currently there's a bug with rotation, so templates only work in the mode they are loaded, e.g. portrait or landscape. But it's still the best OSC app for Android yet, IMO! I have tried them all I think.

It works well, for what works, but when im trying to play with the basic DJ layout, if I start using 2 or more fingers, it frequently kicks me back to the setup menu Not gonna refund, i'll just wait for updates and see where it goes

Been waiting for an app that allows custom layouts for a aaaages. Good to see someone take advantage while touchosc are snoozing. Unfortunately the online editor doesn't work. Tried Chrome and Firefox. Will give 5 stars when this is fixed.
