About Hue Talk

The fun way to control your Philips Hue bulbs. Use voice commands and hue will be kind enough to talk back to you.

Many configurable commands for changing your bulbs colours or simply say any sentence with any of the main colours in it. e.g. "Please change my bulbs to green red and blue, thanks".

NEW! You can now create/delete light groups to easily select which lights you control. Also added manual control for when the novelty of the voice control gimmick wears thin.

And of course plenty of funnies to be discovered. Ask hue any random question and discover the secrets of the universe hidden in her replies.

Requires the Philips Hue Personal Wireless System.

Developed using the Philips Hue Java SDK.

Note: If the default language on your phone is not English some voice commands may not be recognized.

App loads and just gets stuck at "connecting" after selecting my bridge and never connects.

U70%
by U####:

It only does 2 colors. White and beige.. I ask for party.lights and I get nothing but ornage and white... What a dumb app.

S70%
by S####:

As others have said without Google Now integration it takes longer to open the app, press the button and speak than a simple home page widget

U70%
by U####:

If I change up the configuration words it doesn't seem to recognize anything. No widget button? Also would be really cool if this worked with Android Wear, so I could just talk to my watch to activate the lights and not have to pull out my phone

U70%

Don't even know what to say really.

I'd love to see this integrate with google now. Voice commands are for the lazy. The least amount of work to start it is needed to make this app a truly perfect companion application.

The app needs google now integration to be useful. If I have to bother to open the app and press the talk button, I might as well hit the on/off widget I already have. Need to be able to say "Okay Google, Lights off." from across the room.

Works to turn on and off lights, would like a widget and better looking ui

Q70%
by Q####:

GARBAGE. No actual use for the thing. It's worse than just putting a widget on your home screen. The whole point is to not unlock my phone.

Q70%

Whatever your command is, It gets only white!

U70%

Nice start. Promising app :) simple and does what it's programmed to do. If you don't like it, go develop your own app.

You can change the voice commands but not the actions, so almost completely useless. Also, since the app has to not only be running in the foreground but you also have to tap the button to talk, it's even more useless. Allow changing the actions and make it run in the background with a configurable activation word or phrase and it'll really be something.

Keeps saying no bridges found.

N70%

What does no bridge found mean???????????????????

A70%
by A####:

No option/feature to set Hue Talk to "always listening." Voice activation of lights is neat, but having to touch the screen to activate the microphone adds an additional step. Hopefully there are plans to integrate "always listening" No setting to return lights to all white.

V70%
by V####:

doesn't understand the commands, or doesn't execute them right.

Y70%
by Y####:

Controls only one of my lights. Widget please.

P70%
by P####:

In particular, selecting groups to control...it's funny as it is, but not all that useful if you have lots of hues.

Y70%
by Y####:

Would be better with a widget. So 4 stars for the funniness and the easter eggs.
