About BT TV Purchases

We’re on the move more and more these days. So we’ve designed an app which lets you take the movies and TV shows you love with you. With the new BT TV Purchases app you can watch the movies and TV shows you’ve purchased from BT TV on your smartphone or tablet.
To watch on the go, you buy your movies/TV shows in the usual way from BT TV on your YouView, YouView+ or BT Vision+ box and then download the app to get started. You’ll need a valid BTID username and password linked to your BT TV billing account so you can watch your purchases.

Key features
- Stream and download the movies/TV shows you’ve bought to your device
- Register up to four devices per BT TV account.

What you need to know
- Before you start watching on the app you’ll need to buy the content you want to watch on your YouView, YouView+ or BT TV Vision+ box.
- Please wait at least 24 hours from when you’ve bought your movie/TV show for it to become available on the app.
- You’ll need a BTID username and password linked to your BT TV account to watch your movies/TV shows on the app.
- You can only stream and download movies/TV shows from within the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.
- You’ll need an active BT TV subscription in order to access your movies/TV shows using this app. If you leave BT TV make sure you download your movies/TV shows before you go as you won’t be able to access them once you’ve gone.
- After you’ve downloaded your movies/TV shows you’ll need to re-enter your BTID and password every 30 days in order to maintain access to them.
- You’ll only be able to download a single copy of a movie/TV show to one device at a time. If you want to download it to another one you’ll need to take it off your current device first.
- It’s a free app for the first four devices you install it on. We may charge you if you download it onto more.
- We recommend you use the app with Android 4.2 and above.
- There might be mobile network and wi-fi charges when you use this app.
- The TV Purchases app will continue to be developed and we will publish regular software updates to improve reliability and make it even simpler to use. We welcome your feedback and suggestions please email them to tvpurchases@bt.com

When trying to play back k movies on my Samsung Tab1, it's playing but in less than half time. 10 seconds for film is taking a lifetime. Please sort as I have been recommended this and would love it to ACTUALLY work. Cheers

Won't purchase from BT again how about letting us link to a UV account to allow us to access content that if we leave BT. Also what about no casting I bought the movie so it's not because of licencing. I can buy from talk talk and cast and access it via uv, flixter etc.

When I enter email and password, I get "System Error" message. Hence I cannot watch or download my own purchases. Seems others have this problem too.

Does not work on Android 7.0. What sort of app developer leave it 10 month to issue updates. Just shows BT are not serious regarding app usage and development. Recent update now loads and enables viewing of purchased content. However upon loading purchased content does not display graphical images. Improved but still not ideal.

As others have commented the app does not work with Android 7 (system error message). If you currently use this app then think carefully before updating to Android 7. Let's hope BT can supply a quick update to Android 7 compatibility. Latest update now works with Android 7

Bought film via BT TV, and not updating to my list of films on the app, so can't watch in my phone or tablet!!! Also why can't BT link purchased films to the likes of UV or Flixster??? If I decide to leave BT, then I lose all the films I've purchased thru them, and will have to buy them again! Terrible customer service too as links they post to "troubleshoot" you can't click them, you have to enter them in their entirety! Feel like leaving BT and going to abotherl provider, after being with them forever!!!

Keep getting system error on my Nexus 6P running Android 7. I've checked I have the latest software, have also uninstalled and re-installed. Tried on My Nexus 10 running on an older version of Android and works fine.

Was working fine till android upgrade on my LG G5. Have reinstalled app but still getting same system error. Help!! Have looked at tips and done everything I was asked and still no joy! It just states System Error, no code number with an ok button at the bottom which takes me back to the sign in page.

The app is limited to 99 titles so if you are over this limit you cannot see all purchases in list. As there is no way to change the order in which titles are listed ones starting with a later letter will not show. E.g if you have 99 title beginning with a then any others will not list. Will this cap be removed.
