What are users saying about BT Wi-fi

Latest update seems to work see how long before disconnect, just updated 1 hour on - no disconnect. Brilliant. Nexus 7 2013, Android 6.01 edit forgot to change start rating. Now usable no dropped signal although being hopping on & off, if moving locations and problems, try forgetting bt Wi-Fi with Fon setting on Android phones, as remembers last connection which In my case is different in front room & bedroom (in multiple flat area)

Doesn't comnect automatically. Doesn't ping when make a noise when connecting if it does connect. When it does find a BT zone I'm usually asked to sign know as if I haven't got the app. Used to connect automatically but the last year it's been useless.

K70%
by K####:

Absolute rubbish. Never works. Keeps saying will connect when internet improves. If it does connect it doesn't recognise that I'm a customer. Waste of battery only. I laugh when I see BT ads

Z70%
by Z####:

When I enter my home the bt app keeps connecting to my fon instead of my hub! Every time I have to connect it back to my home hub. It's a pain.

by S####:

Doesn't work properly. Blocks all content Poor overall. And it's not the filters... it's a poxy useless app. I have infinity and even the when the BT Fon connects I cannot even see Facebook..... something to do with being an unsecure/not trusted connection!!! Wtf?

I've been able to get wifi in the strangest of unexpected places because of BT wifi app. There are also hotspots that appear to be BT, but the app refuses to connect to them. The only real problem is the list of nearby hotspots, which is absolute garbage. How can hotspots in a town 20 miles away show as 1.1 miles away? You said several years ago that topic fix this, but haven't.

Z70%
by Z####:

Not working does not find Wi-Fi spots and connect automatically even after reinstall and all permissions are on! NO issues with my account as all paid up on time and no known issues according to your staff have called numerous times and nobody can help me!

Z70%
by Z####:

I can't rate the app because it refuses to work despite an uninstall and reinstall. While I am at it, the poxy BT broadband is down again. Oh the hazards of living in such a rural outpost! - but wait sorry the UK capital is a mere 30 miles away. Update. Dear BT thank you for the advice to download the beta version from the play store - would a link to the app not have been more helpful. Have yet again uninstalled and reinstalled the only version I can find and it still states that it is not working. Not impressed.

This has never ever worked properly. Shoddy workmanship BT. Get it sorted or withdraw it from the app store. Do not suggest calling a helpdesk - it needs to work correctly from the first install. Reply: It's a Google Nexus 6P.

28/01/2017 you just rolled out an update that broke BT wi-fi.. was working perfectly before I installed update. Please check the update and maybe downgrade until update is fixed. Can't connect to BT wi-fi with Fon now. Says 'WiFi connection failure' as error message

P70%
by P####:

You have as much chance of this connecting and staying connected as you have getting the truth from an MP. Sold as an advantage with infinity broadband. Come on BT sort it out Three years on and no better, inconsistent and poor connection

F70%
by F####:

Since update has stopped working properly. Does not stay connected to Wi-Fi spot. Will result in my data allowance running out as unable to use my broadband subscription away from home.

B70%
by B####:

Not fit for purpose. It is supposed to automatically connect and log in to BT wife networks in the background. It used to work but no I need log in manually or fun the app manually, rather than it running in the background. Since the convenience of this facility was one of the few things keeping me with BT, it's time to change providers!

W70%
by W####:

Since last update it now shows every hotspot as being disabled. Can still force it to connect but it's a faff that never used to happen

Z70%
by Z####:

Really annoyed, up until Saturday this app had been temperamental but worked great but now since then it has not worked at all and all of a sudden the WiFi hotspots appear to no longer be available? Even though in the same spot I'd previously used continuously. What the hell!

Z70%
by Z####:

App keeps crashing. I can't sign in. Everytime I type a username and password it comes up with an error message... fix it. It used to work before get it back

Z70%
by Z####:

It now appears to be working again and I can now use my login details from my old bt service to use the WiFi hotspots. Will now up the rating from one to three stars. Ongoing use will determine how far up that rating goes

W70%
by W####:

No problems at all with app. Work perfectly. You can pick up a WiFi connection all most anywhere. I wonder if the bad reviews are false news from BT's rivals

G70%
by G####:

In theory this app looks great, unfortunately in the years I have had this I find I always need to disconnect from the hotspot so my data connection loads what I need. Tried and tried keep hoping it will get better will probably uninstall if the next update leaves the app like this. Response, Yes every hotspot, log in details are correct and when connected I get a no internet connection error message, as stated the only way around is to switch WiFi off which defeats the purpose and delays notifications from web apps.

Y70%
by Y####:

Not working at all! Before it used to connect without a problem. Doesn't connect to BT-FON just completely dead!!!

U70%
by U####:

Constantly keeps crashing. This follows a previous version being unable to retain log in info. Neither un/re-installing and clearing the app cache help. My previous ISP was Sky and their similar app worked flawlessly. Luckily I have a decent data package on my SIM so can surf with that. BT really must do better. One star currently flatters it. Edit#1 I have sent crash reports several times. Edit #2 The HELPdesk only said that nothing would happen until the developers updated the app. I knew that before ringing so a waste of time calling.

Z70%
by Z####:

It's not reliable. I think B T has not got hot spots as much as they tell us . There is a wifi with don out there with only 1mps !!!! Why .is it to cover there short fall of hot spots ??

N70%
by N####:

BT Fibre Optic Series 6 Hubs seem STILL not to "give away" any of their signal for those who sign up to BT-FON. I have to give visiting friends my Wireless Password/Key instead of their being able to sign in to BT-FON. When is this problem going to be solved, please? Hoped for November, destined for "some time in later January" - what's the progress? Will we be issued with new Hubs? If EVERYONE were to sign up to BT Fibre Optic and receive a Series 6 hub, there would - ipso facto - be no BT-Fon service : no hot-spots. Solution-date, please, BT!

Z70%
by Z####:

Connects fine to hot spots, but no internet data. Makes app useless. And no free access while out. Have to login repeatedly to the app. Doesn't save password.

O70%
by O####:

Average. Need to manually start app on boot for it to work. For some reason it needs GPS and location to authenticate and find hotspots even though I'm already connected to one. No bt wifi x. Plenty of room for improvement. Nexus 6p.
