About Earthing
Standards
This section describes the various standards that apply to earthing.
Earth Resistivity
Calculate the soil resistivity (rho) from the resistance reading (R) on a meter and describe the equation.
Traverse
For large areas, a single measurement is not enough. You will be making several measurements at various electrodes spacing (a). This section will calculate the average soil resistivity over that traverse. You do not have to enter the data in any order and you do not have to start from the top and you can leave rows empty: the app takes care of understanding your input.
Transformer Fault
Calculates the short circuit current that will flow in case of an earth fault in a transformer (solidly earthed neutral) and from that current, select the size of the earthing cable. Explains the associated equation.
Single Rod
Once you have the soil resistivity, this section will evaluate how much resistance a given electrode will provide, so you can select different length to achieve the target resistance, or achieve N x target resistance and then place N electrodes in parallel.
Zone of Influence
Describes the preferred arrangement for single electrodes based on their zone of influence.

Shows the version number and notes the disclaimer that calculations need to be confirmed by a Professional Engineer before being applied.
Additional Features
→ Your input and the calculation results are kept for easy reference as you move between screens.
→ Rotate the screen vertical or horizontal to scale the display content as required.
→ Once installed, the app can be moved to SD card for devices with limited on board memory.
