Sky+ for Android
Love it. My sky remote broke and this app allowed me to control the box sufficiently for ages. Love how you can get real time TV guide and planner organisation that links up with the box. Very handy. Keep it up. You just need a way to record shows without looking them up the the guide almond with fast forward and rewind abilities and then you could replace the remote completely.
The link to my sky box worked for a while. However, it lost it. Re-installed, same again. New phone, updated OS, same problem! I rate it ** because the program list works. It also sends record requests to my Sky box. Shame the link to the planner fails. If it worked it would be Five Stars.
If I didn't have a problem misplacing my remote I'd delete this app. It crashes multiple times a day, I says it will download programmes and fails to do so and the remote feature is so oversensative you breathe near it and it changes channel or pauses it. They know there is no other option so continue to let this app be awful. It really shows how much it cares for its customers. Unless you need it don't bother as it will do nothing but drain your battery.
This used to work, now doesn't. Have done the fully delete old deleted programs and planner rebuild and reinstall app. Still it doesn't work. Was the pre Xmas update rushed?
The concept of this app is great, unfortunately it feels like the people who design it don't actually use it themselves. It takes forever to find the sky box, frequently losing the connection, all I want to do is turn the bloody box on, why the constant waiting?
Used to be able to use Sky+ to watch live or recorded programs on my tablet when kids are monopolising TV for XBox. Tried to use it today and only lets me watch on TV. Is this some sly way to force people over to Sky Q? I already pay more than enough to you for what I have.
Since the last update I have to constantly use the 'resync the planner' option, this is extremely annoying and tedious as it's buried away and takes while to get to it.
It seems that this app refuses to work properly to view your Planner on your Sky box and it only works when it wants to which is just pathetic if you just want to check your current recordings and this issue has been going on for a long time. I'm really not sure what Sky are playing at but this is getting ridiculous now.
This app is full if bugs since the last update, links record and channel choice non HD channels to HD - very frustrating. Record does not always work, constantly gas to re link to the box- sort it out sky
It does what it says on the tin, plus a bit more. The capacity for the app to be a much more efficient remote is but one. The newest version of app does have a propensity to crashing, but with a little time it all works swimmingly again.
Since the last update, I cannot always record from the app 'an error has occurred'. Very frustrating...please fix!
No d-pad to scroll up and down channels - surely one of the most used functions of the actual remote is missing... perhaps to coax people to buying a new remote.
To all those saying you can't change channel. Just swipe up and down on the open area to change channel. Great little app. Need to be able to watch my recorded and downloaded programmes on the device though.
I have a dual band wireless router and if the Sky+ box is on the 2.4 GHz band, with the Android/iPad on the 5ghz band then it doesn't work. With the Sky+ box on the 5ghz band then it doesn't work, no matter what you do with the Android/iPad. You need to force both the Sky+ box and your Android/iPad on to the 2.4 wave band to ensure it works as advertised.
Used to be so good but my android version of the app can't find my sky box! Is there still bias towards IOS as my ipod touch finds my box while my Samsung is still searching PLEASE FIX!!
Great for remote recording. Great for when you're too lazy to move to the sky remote. The scheduler though needs a refresh button. Mines stuck showing data from 2 months ago
My Christmas tradition of going through the radio times and circling everything in a pen has just gone digital. Try it for yourself... open the app... and programme it straight in..
I used to love this app. Now it does not connect to my Sky box at all. It keeps saying no box found. Defeats the purpose when I have to go to another room to turn the box on and still cannot use the app.
Used to work perfectly but now it never seems to do what you want it to do. I use the app mostly to set recordings but that is now impossible as I either get "an error has occurred" or "region setting is incorrect" why can you not just have your app do a few of the most popular activities properly 100% of the time rather than have it barely functional on any level. So frustrating really.
Error message received saying 'region setting is incorrect' but this aligns with the address for my Sky account. Is this a bug?
It would be really useful if channel numbers were in the planner as well as the guide. Channel numbers still not in the planner. Frequently loses connection to Sky box. Update: Remote:- keying 315 for Film4 HD takes you to Film4 SD, keying 342 Film 4 SD takes you to 315. Brilliant!!!!! Update: recent update which brings syncing notification, too frequent, keeps informing me of clashes which do not exist. Today I had to sort out a clash between 3 programmes being shown on Sunday 12:40, when only one show is in my planner for that time. The sync update really screws up the app. It seems to have a thing for Sunday 12:40 am. It is always at the top of the 'scheduled' list. Did I say brilliant!!!
Great for TV schedules but don't use it so much now there's Netflix. Don't like paying to watch adverts, are you listening Sky?
Hi hate the app it keeps login me out even when I want to stay signed in and every time I put the right password in it tells me it does not recognise it used to work it's a pain in the backside I was good all I want to do is record my programmes
Great app apart from when you try to go into your account details. I can't see what my channel package is!? Still a handy app alongside skygo and skyq.
Would give 0 stars if possible. I'm only able to record for over a week now, cannot change channels with this useless app.
It used to connect to my Sky+HD box just fine. Exit the app for a few days, come back to it and it's still connected. But now, and for like almost a year out loses that connection and takes like 2 mins to even see my Sky box. So much for convenience. If I want to change the channel and have misplaced my remote, I guess I'll have to wait a while by the time I will have actually found my remote. Sort of out Sky! But they probably won't since they won't make any money out of it. Businesses.
Love this app! Very useful and can do a lot of things that you can do with your Sky remote - where watching tv is concerned. Love watching Sky Cinema, but a great addition would be, the ability to see the star ratings of a film, just as you can on your tv.
It keep force closing as I connected to the sky box. #Annoying
It's ok when it works. It's now decided that there are "no programmes of this type" on the box set tyle yet I can access them perfectly fine using the remote control and box. Sort it out sky. We pay more than enough for the service.
Works fine and handy to use to remote record if I'm out, using in the house, if I select ITV HD from the schedule, or even type in 103 as a channel, it always goes to 178 and shows the SD channel..
It would be good if was able view it in portrait mode on my tablet and be able to view a single channel listing for the whole day. Both of these options are available on my phone ( which is unfortunately too small for me to read) but for some reason not on my tablet.

This is rubbish it won't let me watch anything on my phone, disgusting this is I'd never ever want this app again. I wanted to get this app on my 31st birthday but naa forget it I'm done.
Quite often it will stick on a page and not move on to the sky box control page. You need to close it and start again. Also very power hungry.
Since the last update it gets the date wrong and doesn't show current information. Shame, as it used to be an excellent app.
Been over 6 month and still no fix. Same problem as others, can't find Sky box. This did work for around 2 weeks, now has stopped working again!! This is strange as my box is about 2 meters from my phone. What is stranger, is that my sky remote control can find my sky box.
This WAS a great app. Since the update if one chanel is being recorded I can't switch to another chanel unless I reschedule the recording- even though my sky box allows for it - why doesn't the app???? If this could be resolved it would be a good app.
All the regular features are as they were but while my iPad still connects, my android phone now no longer sees my sky+ box. All but useless.
Been broken for the last few versions, doesn't synchronise properly, showing scheduled recordings for past events

As others have stated, the 'searching for Sky+HD boxes on network' just doesn't work so cannot use the app to schedule recordings on the fly. The freesat app is much better (if only it would work with sky..). BTW I've tried manually updating the sky box firmware as described but that makes no difference. Are there settings in the router that need to be changed?
