Downloaded app due to description saying free then found I could not use it without "unlocking" it by paying. Disappointed.

I found the app and thought I might use it for my upcoming trip to Brussels but time after time trying to view points of interest, it just would not open so after several attempts I deleted it from my phone,so does anyone else suffer the same problem that I had or is it just a one off...or will the developers fix the problem? At this moment beware of downloading this particular app!!
