Grill Alert® for Android
Pairing was very painful, many attempts. Not really even sure why it finally worked, but kind of early to have any confidence yet. App has crashed a few times while using it, but it generates an error report so that's nice.
3/17 Does not work on lg g4. 5/17 Had some android updates and now it's working. Android update 5 to 6.
Have to re pair with phone every time you use it. Also needs to be able to adjust max temp. Cooking pulled pork and need to have max temp to be 195 and app only lets you have a max temp of 160
Paired easy and worked perfectly
I don't know why people are saying it doesn't work. I push and held down the black button on the round unit until the blue light was blinking. Then I open the app and click the Bluetooth sync button. No trouble at all.
Tried using a nexus 10 and a droid turbo...android version 5.1 & 5.1.1. The device does not appear in the Bluetooth connection list. The device is in sync mode with a blinking blue light. Bluetooth is on for both devices and a refresh scan does not find the device (note: other devices are successfully connected)
This is a great concept but it just doesn't work. I have tried many times to pair my phone with the thermometer but it won't. This was a waste of $50 bucks.
The main device would not sync with the app, which makes buying a fifty dollar wireless meat thermometer pretty much useless. My phone is a samsung galaxy s5 with the latest android updates.
Hey Tyler, I have a new Galaxy Note 5 and mine wouldn't connect to Bluetooth at first either. Try holding the power button on the device until the blue light begins to blink. That did it for me.
It pairs but doesn't show temperature from device. Garbage.
It's a very great app....my chicken got tastier than ever...I was sleeping while it was getting cooked...so thanx to the sound notifications of the app....Great invention!!!
It helps you cook food delicious and at perfect required temperature....just the way i want....

It seems that a lot of people have issues pairing. Mine paired immediately, reads the temperature, stores settings, is about 500% better than my old Maverick thermometer, which regularly lost parity and had a range of about 6 feet. My phone was inside 30' from outdoor smoker, and kept accurate read out and parity for 2 hours.
