About SunFilter - Screen Temperature

SunFilter allows you to set the temperature of your Android devices screen. This makes viewing a lot easier in low light conditions, as well as helps with your sleep cycle. Unnatural light cause your body to lose Melatonin, which is naturally generated to allow you to fall asleep. By toning down the screens brightness and level of white light given off, this effect is lessened.

- Allows you to set a screen filter of any colour for your Android device. It sets the screen temperature to make it easier on your eyes in lower light conditions. Unlike some other applications that are set to serve the same purpose, SunFilter does NOT require root privileges.

Currently being worked on:
-More fine-trained color adjustments
-Color pre-sets
-Temperature fading to the set Sun Set time.
-Brightness controlling --> DONE!
-Widgets for easy on/off of different filters

Browsing on my mobile (lollipop) it suddenly stops and gets to default brightness wich hurts my eyes and its really annoying.

N70%
by N####:

It is not adjusting the screen color temperature. It only adds a layer of color on to if the screen. Looks weird.

It doesn't work anymore after the latest OS update.

I wanted an orange tint and got nothing.

T70%

It's restarting many times while I am on screen after updated my device to lollipop. But in kitkat it was fine.

Please make an app like in Nokia lumia color profile

T70%
by T####:

This app tints the screen including the black areas so you see the tinted color in places like the notification bar. Not as advertised.

N70%

I think this app made for epsxe only. great work brandon

I can tell the color difference on the sunfilter menu but while surfing the net or while running an app there is no difference. Heck even the main menu on my Nexus remains the same. In addition the UI represented in the screenshots is not the same as the one you download. Am I missing something?

Running ads in the backround??? I'm reporting you greedy head...

T70%
by T####:

It's okay as a "filter" but it drains my battery like crazy

T70%
by T####:

Adjusting the color temp makes night time reading way nicer

T70%
by T####:

It seems to work as intended (helps get my screen fairly close to 6500k - from about 7100k). The problem is that is makes the UI a little sluggish in certain applications (especially the launcher). Touchpad AOKP B28 4.0.3

T70%

Works as it should except it turns the filter off then back on. needs time setting!

T70%
by T####:

It works ok, a few bugs. However it was using 25% CPU constantly and making my phone slow.

H70%
by H####:

The interface is pretty clumsy. I look forward to future updates. LG Optimus Elite

T70%

This wasnt f.lux as it didnt have a timer but still provided a redder filter thst stopped the screen from hurting my eyes!

D70%
by D####:

Exactly what I was looking for. - Galaxy Nexus

T70%
by T####:

Not the f. Lux that helps computer screens. This just puts a color shade over your screen. I already have screen filter for that and it's much more advanced.

T70%
by T####:

Basically its not f.lux at all, just a screen reddener. Why stop at the last hurdle??

W70%
by W####:

Not a port.

M70%
by M####:

Changed the settings around to use the app. Screen got all blurry. Uninstalled the app, screen is still blurry. Do not get

T70%
by T####:

Lacks a Kelvin based colour temperate setting. Black changes to a bright colour but it should stay black.

T70%
by T####:

Obn my sgs2 sky with an Amoled screen this doesnt work right. it works the way it was written. it just doesnt change color temp properly. it does it but not by the right method. The blending math algorithm used casts a veil on everything. it should not do that. it should multiply by the value of the pixel.

T70%
by T####:

Adding a coloured layer with variable opacity is NOT the same as changing the output colour temperature of the device. Disappointing- I hope there will be a free program as good as f.lux for PC appearing on Android soon... we need it!

T70%
by T####:

It doesn't seem to filter as well compared to others. Just seems to slap a solid color on top of the display. I'll continue to try it and see if it helps but so far doesn't seem to filter as well

Q70%
by Q####:

I found this app while looking for a way to make the color balance on my screen match the ambient light when I use my tablet. The description implies that that is the intended function. But there isn't any simple warm to cool slider or setting that uses the camera, only manual adjustment of the 3 color channels. It also looks like the change is an additive, rather than subtractive one (blacks and midtones are tinted, but pure white looks the same), which does very little good in my situation, reading black text on a white background.

How bout a widget on/off button?

S70%
by S####:

A decent app. Does what it advertises and doesn't appear to cause an problems. Periodically quits and restarts.

S70%
by S####:

It lags my phone up horribly

S70%
by S####:

Could you fix the little gap of brightness where the soft keys are located for Galaxy Nexus. Thanks!

S70%
by S####:

This is a great app! It fixed the Razr Maxx green tint. I used 255 for colors 1& 3 and a value of zero for color 2 with the intensity set to 10. Sweet!

F70%
by F####:

Does what it's suppose to do. The only problem I can think of it's the custom settings drop down list. I could'n see it as the background was same as text. Button instead of drop down?
