Bridgewalker is a euro-denominated wallet for the Bitcoin economy. Send and receive bitcoins, but maintain your balance in Euros. Bridgewalker converts back and forth between the currencies just when you need to send bitcoins or receive them.
Fees for this service are collected on each deposit and withdrawal and currently amount to about 0.75 % (i.e. 1.5 % for a "round trip"), depending on market conditions. With increased volume and more efficient markets these fees should go down in the future.
Bitcoin's strength is fast and cheap world-wide money transfer with zero risk of identity theft. Use Bitcoin as a digital payment mechanism, without worrying about its exchange rate!

This concept is great - removing a big issue with bitcoin; that it is an unstable store of value. But, very poor uptime - service seems to be unavailable more often than available. (hence 3 stars) Perhaps a move away from Gox would help!

...it is still in beta and only a technology demo so I have to use it at my own risk. Because of that I can't use it as a real wallet.. I hope that it will go into production soon. P.S. it would be cool if one could choose between exchanger (MtGox, Bitstamp, etc.)

Just downloaded and shortly tested this brand new sort of Bitcoin wallet. It seems to do the job it's supposed to do very well. The weak link with this concept is the instability of the Mt. Gox exchange. If MT. Gox crashes, this app will not work. I think this concept will aid Bitcoins immensely to attain more immediate applicability for the mainstream. Especially in these times of dramatic volatility on the exchange rates, the added safety of keeping your Bitcoins in USD until just before transfer will be likely to appeal to a large crowd. Excellent work!
