ND Calc for Android
Easy the best nd app because you only need to know what nd your using and exposure time.
Good and free. Thanks
Terrible app. It may perform the calculations ok but I couldn't tell because when I tried to scroll through the list of ND options the list turned white and all the text became invisible with no way to get it back to a readable format. Same thing happened to the shutter speed list.
Info disappears when pressed. Note 4. No settings to be seen.
Very pale display
For some reason when I scroll on both shutter speed and ND filter column they go white making it impossible to read. Plus the top part that shows the final shutter speed is really dim. Please fix this. Sony Xperia ZL on Android 5.1.1
I use this app regularly and it's very helpful calculating correct exposure. Only negative is I sometimes hit some times not available in the app but I make a guess and experiment
The have been a lot of great suggestions for improvements yet I've noticed no updates.
This makes it nearly impossible to read it I daylight, even with my screen on its brightest mode everything else is nice and bright and crisp. What gives?
The menu glitches in lollipop turning completely white. Also exposure is dark grey blend into background. used to love this app, now getting a replacement.
For some reason the initial exposure info at top of screen is extremely dark and unreadable. Will contact developer.
Top of screen so dark to be almost unreadable.
My filter is labelled as ND4, but in your app I think it is listed as ND0.6. This is a bit confusing. Other than that confusion the app is very usable and does it's job well.
It's an okay app. It does what it's supposed to fine, but the interface isn't too interesting. For some reason, it's also missing some shutter speeds (e.g. 1/800), which is annoying.
Wow, its so much easier!
Can't read screen in sunlight. Test at the top is way too dark, needs more contrast.
Nifty app, but has bugs. The scrolling makes the information disappear on nexus 4, and the grey readout text is impossible to see in direct sunlight.
This is a small, quick and usable app. There are 2 suggestions I would make to the author for improvement based on my expertise in Human Factors Engineering and Human Reliability Analysis. 1. As photographers we all work in stops and the app does show stops for all filter factors. However, there are 2 ways ND filters are specified by filter factors of 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, etc. which equates to 1, 2, 3, and 4 stops of exposure reduction. Some manufacturers specify their filters with a filter fact such as ND 2, ND4, ND8, ND16, ND32, etc. which equates to 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 stops. It would be helpful for some to have this filter factor specified in addition or as an option that could be set. 2. The other issue is more fundamental. The app shows a scrolling list of filter factors side by side with a scrolling list of shutter speeds. My initial assumption was that you lined up the shutter speed with the filter factor and it would give the answer. However, what you actually do is tap the filter factor and tap the shutter speed. Unfortunately, the app doesn't show you which filter factor or shutter speed is selected in the list.
Doesn't work too well on Lollipop. Will get a better rating when updated.

Excellent
Fab app
This is a no frills nd calculator and is exactly what I was after. For those having trouble; 1) select the nd filter in the left column 2) select the shutter speed your camera is saying to use without the nd filter on your lens from the right column 3) the calculated shutter speed is shown at the top of the screen with the filter selected and non filter shutter speed shown just below. Can't get much easier or simpler then that!
Maybe I don't get it but this doesn't seem to calculate anything; just gives you two sliders that aren't associated with each other. Useless.
Simple and so helpful
Does not contain a EV calculator, so you can select the shutter speed mentioned in the camera, choose the ND filter, and get the corresponding equivalent shutter speed.
The scroll wheels white out when changing the selection. Tried on lollipop on N5
I shoot 4x5 large format film and it worked perfectly. I added 2x and 8x Neutral Density. It gave flawless results.
Needs to be an option for 11, 12, etc stops instead of jumping from 10 stops to 13 for those who stack multiple ND filters.
There is 2 times "6 stops" in the left column and the calculation is not always accurate. For example if I start with 1/1000 sec., for 7 Stops I get 1/4" that is okay, but for 8 Stops I get 0"4" (???) , for 9 Stops I get 0"5" (???).
Can you add every other stop from 10 to 20 We usualy stack up to 2 filters For example 10 + 6 will give you 16 10+2 will give you 12 etc.. Thanks and take care
This is a great little app for the keen photographer which makes calculating the exposure when using an ND filter a breeze !
This app is simple and does exactly what I expected from it. But, I found the UI to be rather confused, when all I really want is a simple list showing the shutter speed before/after applying my filter.
I cant seem to add my iso ?? This is quite an important setting as my camera only goes down too iso 200. Please add this and its a 5*
You select your filter #stops and your base exposure time, it tells you your final exposure time. As simple as that :)
A perfect app for someone who wants to get the math done fast. The only thing that could improve this app is half-stops.
Works well,great app
