With FirstMention, you can find the place on the internet where your favourite celebrities, TV shows, products and much more, started off. Utilising the Wayback Machine Internet Archive (http://archive.org/web/), the app will search for the oldest mention of your query, and return a date and description of the website. From there you can choose to visit the page.
The function of this app is unique even to the Google Search, which will return results based on dates mentioned on the page rather than their true upload date. Youtube also has no 'oldest first' capabilities on a normal search.
It is possible that the website found no longer exists, or its contents are unsupported. Unfortunately, this is just a result of the progression of the Internet.
Warning - This app uses a search engine which can return adult results if searched for.
Some searching tips:
- If the search is common word, the result will probably not be what you wanted. Try adding key words like 'song', or 'game'.
- Adding 'youtube' to your search can limit your result to YouTube.
- Adding brand names also helps. For example, search 'Apple iPod' instead of just 'iPod'

Has the potential to be very useful but many of my basic term searches either found nothing or just a date with page not found message. Disapointed, Not merely as useful as it first seemed, the search quality needs Improvement and consistency.
