OLD - Nexus 4 Modem Flasher for Android
I lost some files required to sign updates. Because of this I am required to make a new listing for this app..
I am very sorry for the inconvenience. Because of this I have made the free version AD-free. I really appreciate any donations received from the donate version. They really motivated my continued work on this and other apps.
Works as its expected to. Had a some problems in the start but got the job done
Not working pls fix after I will give you 5 star
Worked awesome! Took a few tries but worth it in the end.
Works great on my Nexus 4 Android 4.4.4 Purity rom. After downloading LTE Hybrid 0.98+0.33 it rebooted into recovery and auto flashed the .zip file. Then I use Intelli3g to switch to 4G mode.
Unfortunately, this app not only didnt work for me (i followed instructions, of course), but it even completely broke my phone. Wifi cant be turned on now and USB doesnt work most of the time. Glad it worked for others but from my own experience I cant recommend it.
It took me a few tries to get LTE working on my TMO phone. The modem that worked was the 0.97_0.33. I also had to clear the Dalvik cache (via recovery). 30+MB consistently in Arlington, VA.
Works great jumped from under 1 Mbps to high 20's. Have yet to see if it affects battery life although I have been able to revert back to 3g on the fly through the pull down notification menu. Overall excellent application definitely an essential.
I'd given up on lte on my nexus 4 simply because doing this manually was a pain in the neck every time I updated or changed my Rom. This app makes the process painless and easy. You sir are my hero. Forgot how much better 4g was. I'm on cyanogenmod 11 KK 4.4.4 and it worked on my first try flashing. 97 hybrid radio.
I just tried to download the .98+.33 hybrid modem and it didn't work, but my phone still rebooted and went into the custom recovery to try and flash unexisting file...
Got an LTE sim from my carrier (they just got LTE on their network, 4yr old mobile provider) and at first they didnt wanna gimme the SIM since my nexus 4 wasnt "compatible" with LTE. told them it was, and that not to worry about that, and they gave it to me. now enjoying 65Mbps+ DL & 30Mbps UL woohoo! using CM11 4.4.4 with Hybrid 103/33 modem
Running cyanogenmod 11 and it works. I had to fiddle around for quite a while and try different radios but .84 + .33 worked for me. I am on straight talk with an AT&t SIM. Superb app.
Great app easy to use works for t-mobile US in Chicago with 4.4 4 try to different modems to find out which one was the best easy as pie lol . One of the best reasons to Nexus possibilities are endless
Had to do a lot of fiddling. Had to update T-Mobile APN and reset To default access afterward. It would show preferred network as LTE but no data connection until I reset the default after adding mobile LTE APN. Stock tom KitKat 4.4.4
As another review stated - use the 97-33 modem. I'm on 4.4.4.
Working great on my N4. Took a couple tries to get it flashed properly (proper APNs wouldn't show up, not sure what was wrong..), but once it flashed I was a happy camper. Pair this with something like Intelli3G (xposed module) to automatically change data modes and prolong your battery life!
Awesome! Downloads doubled and uploads are right up there with downloads now
Not all radio versions are compatible with all Android versions. For example, do *not* use a radio newer than .84 on an Android 4.3 system, or your WiFi and Bluetooth will stop working. Learned that one the hard way.... (.84/.33 hybrid works great on CM 10.2)
Running KitKat 4.4 4. Rogers network. Flashed 0.97 + 0.33. Stable and fast.
Had this app installed for a while, but was wary of issues encountered with a rooted/CM phone. Using the 27_98 radio on T-Mobile, my speed went from a max of 12mbps down, ~5mbps up on hspe+, to 25mbps+ down AND up on LTE!!! And my signal's only @2-3 bars. So stoked, and holding off on upgrading to a Nexus 5 just to get LTE for now. Why did I wait so long..? Do it! You may need to manually switch your APN to LTE, and don't forget to enable LTE and reboot in app tab after flashing. Enjoy- blazing!!!
I "Enabled LTE". Selected "fast.t-mobile.com". Set my prefered network to "LTE/GSM". CM10.2 shows 4g symbol now. In Utah. Have only tested inside a building. Downloads speeds were slower than hspa+ for some reasons, but my uploads speeds was 15 mbs. I'll have to do more testing when I have a better signal.
Worked great until the update today to KitKat 4.4.3. Program no longer reboots the phone, making it useless.
I just flashed this to my Nexus 4 and could not be happier with the results. It almost seemed too easy, to tell the truth. The new hybrid LTE radio works like a charm. Went from T Mobile HSPA speeds of around 15 Mbps to a crazy fast 56 Mbps! Another unexpected benefit is my battery life is MUCH better. Perhaps due to a stronger and more consistent LTE connection. Excellent work, dev!
I had same error as you all on hybrid .98 .33, but I tried 0.97 & .33 and it worked. I am now on LTE on Rogers. The screen shows 4G, but speed test is giving 39D and 12U. I know this works because Rogers 3G/4G network is maxed at 21 Mbps.
Still 5 stars since its not the app's fault. I need band 7 LTE and Nexus 4 hardware doesn't support it at all it seems. When I try to switch the band, the phone app force closes so it's no use.
The app was so simple to use; much simpler than flashing the modems manually! 5 star for easiness!
But... its not working for me.. i need band 3 which this thing support only band 4 which is in the US.
Not working pls fix after I will give you 5 star
Finally! I've been looking for a quick and easy way to flash radios for my N4 remotely without having to use a PC. This works without a hitch. Love it.
Tried but didn't work. Even downloaded the zip files with the 4.4.3 hybrid radios (W02Cxxxxx), and the "enable LTE" will not stay on after reboot. AT&T must not have band 4 in my area.
I'm on T-mobile here in Dallas TX USA and I used this app to enable my Nexus 4 Android Kitkat 4.4.4 It worked first time. Just be sure when you run it the first time to go to the right Tab and enable LTE modem then reboot and relaunch the app aand select hybrid LTE Modem (97-33). I hope this helps Big Boss in Dallas
I followed the instructions in the video and it worked for me on the first try.
Tried it, works. But now the youtube app give me error 401 retry later. It works on the browser though.... please fix..
I just updated to 4.4.3 today. The modem reverted so I went to reflash it, but it erred on boot. Will patiently wait for the update. Fine app otherwise!
So easy to use, I always had problems keeping LTE enabled after reboot when flashing radios manually but this app has never reverted to HSPA+. Works on 4.4.4 with .97/.33 on t-mobile. Perhaps others should try all options on the app before giving it 1 star. Also Nexus 4 only supports band 4 LTE so make sure that's what your carrier uses.
Within minutes I had LTE working on my nexus 4! Awesome app! I didn't even know this was possible. (T-mobile user)
Does this app works with other phone brands.. Because im using myphone agua rain.. Ty
It works like a charm on 4.4.2! Donation to buy the paid app on the way. Thanks Dev!
All the tools on the application work as advertised, hence the five star review. I reverted back to stock ROM to allow future updates. I could not get any of the listed Hybrid modems to load at boot. They all came up dead. I assume that it is a 4.4.4 issue. HSPA is fine in my area, so there is no big push to upgrade, but as T-Mobile pushes harder on LTE, it is clear that HSPA is being left to languish. This was my preemptive attempt to stretch life on the Nexus 4. Maybe time to upgrade to Nexus 5 or Motorola X+ (when it comes out) and put the Nexus 4 up on ebay.
Doesn't work with 4.4.3 paranoid android and Franco kernel. 5 if resolved
