VMware Boxer for Android
Boxer keeps dropping email synchronization, forcing me to check the sync almost daily. Very frustrating as I then don't realize I have work emails to address. It also requires me to type in my passcode randomly and often throughout the day, which I'm sure contributes to the enormous battery drain. Functionality is pretty good, although I wish drafts would sync!
Ok. Although the App design is very cool it does lack some things very basic to an email App, (even the stock Samsung/Android) App is better. I rated 1* because: - Some emails come in a normal font size, some come with smaller font and some come with miniscule font that none can read and one needs to zoom to even see what is written. Ridiculous! - The signature, one does not have the option to edit the font. It is the basic and that's it. Who is going to put their contacts or company information in the same font size or colours then the rest of the email? I was demanded to start using this App otherwise I would have kept the stock Samsung App, but I wouldn't mind the switch if it was to a similar App which is not the case.
So boxer has been amazing for about a year but now it's lately been draining my battery pretty quickly, it continually says there's no connection even though there is, when I refresh my inboxes it takes forever where before it was quick. Also I don't think it's been combining all my inboxes correctly. It seems I had to go into them individually to get them to update. The app seems to be getting worse which is sad because it was amazing....
Good day, uninstall and install sorted all issues - push and attachments download. Do we have to do this after every update?
No dark theme after multiple requests over 2 years. Hate the glaring white when everything else on my phone is dark. Is it really that hard to do?
Mostly unable to sync Office emails even after refresh folder or enabled/disabled sync option... there is bug with email sync function.. fix it
It does not open attachments in calendar meetings. It crashes woefully at the drop of a hat. Sync needs to be manually triggered most of the time.
Good corporate email client. Used in the office. Hope the battery drain issue is fixed asap. 3 stars for now.
Till now my feature request for having flag/clear flag/complete flag has not been even considered even though this was logged as feature request thru my airwatch portal..
Extremely laggy and buggy compared to default Gmail client, needs major optimizations and fixes
Stopped working entirely, can't connect to Exchange accounts.
This app is a good substitute for the built in mail app of Android. It is pretty easy to use.
Nice app could do with some customisation. Sync issues a concern
Kills battery. This is one of the top battery consuming but apps on Google pixel.
Not working on Android O due to ssl issue
Pedestrian App. Needs to evolve or rather Transform
This email app is so much easier to use than the AirWatch Inbox! I love the customizable swipe commands
OK but low mb size making software
Doesn't connect to O365 with Android O
Push mail feature does not work. Otherwise a great app.
Good
Outstanding
App is good but there a few issues that bring it down from a 5 rating to a 3 rating. The latest update is eating my battery, it takes up 50pct of battery life. Also it really struggles to fetch attachments where there is more than one attachment in an e-mail. Boxer would do itself a big favour if it first sorted out the base problems before diverting it's resources to new features. Also would be helpful if you properly tested new realeses.
Do Not Recommend. Calendar and email do not remain in synchronization. Poor quality, non-United States support that often can not resolve the problem. Poor documentation that has very few examples and often does not document the feature you are trying to use.
Phone One Plus One: Boxer application does not show up in the Application Draw, could only be opened from play store open link. Even after a a reinstall. Also seems to be a default system app so it auto updates and reinstalls when I remove it. Might contact support when I decide this is the mail app I want.
Huge battery drain, killing my phone's runtime. If not sorted out, no point in carrying on with the app. I have become a prime candidate for an uninstall.
In my opinion one of the best email app out there that works seamlessly with exchange server. Bought the full version and still impressed with the way one interacts with mail box using this app. But few recent issues surface around battery drain, on last update the passcode feature and can't overcome it - also stops syncing emails - hate this feature, should be removing this or way to disable it. Should I expect next update to overcome these issues???
The battery drain on this app is unbearable. The app will drain my battery inside 4 hours. GOOD had no such trouble and provided all the same services. I see in the reviews that vmware is working on this, but they should recognize that this is a critical flaw that will irreparably damage their reputation (and hurry up!). Also, the app tried to take over my Google account without my permission. Now I can't get it to stop showing my personal calendars without the whole phone no longer syncing those calendars. I like to keep my personal calendars separate from my work calendars, and this app makes me feel like my company is invading my personal life and looking at data that they have no right to.
There is a special place in the underworld reserved for those who decreed that my work email.would only be accessible through this utter garbage instead of the native support on my phone. Whenever I attempt to open a mail or mailbox it spends *minutes* spinning before it works. The widgets need to be removed and re-added to the home screen after every phone restart because they stop working. I usually just power up my laptop to read mail because it's faster to do that than use boxer.
Good app as we are moving from Good email at work. People have mentioned the battery drain which is being looked at. I also wish to switch off the email preview in the email inbox but can't see the option?
I liked it at first, but battery drain has become unbearable now. On any given day it uses more battery than screen. I'm currently at about 2 hours of SOT and boxers battery usage (with only 7 minutes in the foreground) is about 60% higher than screen. This isn't an outlier, it's pretty much the norm. I've had to get in the habit of opening boxer to check email, then force closing it when done and basically giving up on getting push email if i want to try to make it through a long day were I can't top up the battery.
Crashes every time I try to open it on my Redmi note 4. Extremely unstable app. Gets stuck and then crashes. I have submitted hundreds of crash reports but you guys are not doing anything about it at all . One of the most awful and painful apps ever made. I feel sorry for the app developer.
Boxer sucks!!! The user interface is horrible. Good for Mobile Messaging was much more user friendly. My company decided to go with boxer though. I hate it. You can't even view your work calender by the month, only the day and week.
New phone has died twice in last two days because of battery drain. Absolutely love the app otherwise, but this is killing me!
So far so good, excellent for free app. Update: the Sync frequency keeps resetting. I set for 'push' but it keeps switching to 'never' . Setting isn't being saved properly. Still a very good app though
This app is not quite there yet. It is a good step up from an old AirWatch Inbox but not as good as Outlook or even native email app of Apple/Android. It has bugs, app shutdown/restarts frequently, lagging terribly while try to search emails with keywords, names where it mostly crash and restarts..Very flaky, sometimes replying particular email in the thread doesn't work and automatically puts reply to the latest email in the thread. I would love to see the feature where I can add the email staright to the calendar entry to save the email for a quick appointments/meetings with that email body (Samsung calendar can do that by just tapping the time of the email while viewing that particular email, and it opens that email in calendar to save it). Also it would be nice if the app allows to copy the body of the email to paste within the boxer app, in another compose or calendar.
App sucks, and it's the only one my work will let us use
It's a well designed email client, but it's painfully slow to respond to user input at times. This makes for a very frustrating experience.
Crashes often, using Samsung s7 edge. When in threaded conversation mode, slow to load emails in a long chain, and the reply button somewhat ends up using the latest email in the chain to reply to.

Hands down THE best email app out there! It's the only email app on the Playstore that ticks every single one of the boxes I had to be ticked, and I'm a perfectionist. Best of all, it's free and the customer support is amazing. If everyone knew how good it is everyone would be using it. Better than Newton Mail (formerly CloudMagic), which you have to pay an annual subscription for. Better than GMail's own app and their Inbox app. Better than Outlook. Better than Blue Mail.
