The day you add propper Linux support/app you get five stars.

So this whole idea of encryption on your cloud storage is awesome and the desktop client works good. This mobile app works fairly well. Sometimes I get Operation could not be completed successfully when viewing pictures. Sometimes photos don't load and I get a black screen with reload. Small things that I'm sure can be fixed in an update. Keep up the good work!! Can't wait to see what the future brings

I switched from Cloudfogger to Boxcryptor in 2016. Had to re-install one time on PC after a Google Drive update, and had to re-install app one time after it stopped working, but it has otherwise been trouble-free. I've been able to open and edit encrypted files on my Android phone and my Windows 10 PC, everything stays sync'd.

N70%
by N####:

Good app, considerable room for improvement: the generation of Word files from within the app and their direct sync to a cloud provider does not always work as expected. The app lacks proper desktop support on Linux, as the "portable" version is not native, unstable, very slow and does allow filesystem-native operations.

N70%
by N####:

Used to be good, but now local accounts are broken. The app now forgets the settings for the local account every time it runs, making it painful to use.

Windows 10 is it's best platform. The rest are all still work in progress. Android functionality limited compared to Windows. Hoping for Android is to improve the ability to share a file to the app & get it encrypted as with the Windows version. Currently if I'm in Google drive app & decide to encrypt a file, I still can't share it to the app. I need to create it within the app itself, which currently doesn't truly support all the functionality of say Google drive itself e.g. the scan feature within Boxcryptor is very basic & rudimentary compared to the ability to crop & choose color scheme & have always on flash lighting while within Google Drive scan itself.

Excellent encryptor -- it supports both local and server based key. I want to have the flexibility of the server based key to support several devices, yet the annual fee is still to high for a person in Indonesia.

This app solves the encryption problem so well. Easy to use and rock solid.

It's kind of okay, but there are two issues that really bother me: 1. Uploads often fail, and when they do you can't retry or resume the upload (going to Activities/Uploads and clicking Retry doesn't do anything). A pain in the a$$ when you're uploading multiple files with random names to find which ones failed and upload them again... 2. Image previews don't work... or rather, they worked at first, but now they don't. Restarting doesn't help. The images are viewable, but the previews never show up. A minute annoyance is that it briefly displays the folder structure before prompting for password/fingerprint - not critical but it sure doesn't feel like a bullet proof solution! It's usable but unfortunately the upload errors are just too annoying for me, I'll keep looking for alternatives. I'm using it with Google Drive by the way.

The Android version has not done this yet, but the Windows version will corrupt and delete your files if you leave them open for any length of time. It has happened to me twice now. I have contacted support twice but they have yet to respond. Overall the apps have worked flawlessly and their support has been very good aside from this issue. Additionally, the subscription price seems outrageous.

Low rating I'd because of the price of personal licence. Developer is more interested in profit than security for all, they forget if they set a fair price instead then more would use it, as a result they would have more money, good press and be respected. Cryptonator (no I'm not connected to them) offer virtually the same for a fair price

Beware of losing access to all of your online sessions at Boxcryptor when changing the password; I got lucky because one of my computers wasn't online at the moment of change and therefore was not logged out! Thank goodness.

If you put anything on internet, you are exposed. It is good to use some encryption before you put it. Think of apple cloud hack on famous celebs.

F70%

Doesn't work all the time; I can usually only get 70 to 80 percent of the files in an encrypted directory to open when I click on them. If I swipe from one image to another, there's a chance the app will open the pic for a second and then switch back to the directory listing.

Cloud providers encrypt your data, so hardly anyone can read it. If the government want to read it or your device is compromised, this will slow them down a lot. Works well with: Oneplus Two "One A2003", Android 7.1.2, Lineage 14.1

Best app to secure your files in the cloud no matter what cloud service you like best. Knowing only you have the keys to open them, not even the cloud provider. Better than just taking some services word its safe you can try yourself to access the files without being logged in. No go they are encrypted.

N70%
by N####:

Unable to move or copy files within the app under android. The photo upload function results in having duplicates. Design of the app is not intuitive. It's more like a "read only" app which lets you access your files but beyond lacks of (working) functions.
