myPill® Birth Control Reminder for Android
I have been using this app a long time, and I've been relatively silent about the bias towards apple users, but honestly after waiting and waiting I've seen maybe one crossover improvement for Android. Bottom line, it's just a better program for Apple users. I regret paying for half features and unfinished product. Update: When I inquire about the state of android updates my comments on the forums get ignored or deleted by staff. Not a great transparency policy.I
Honestly, i've been using this app since I started the pill 6 months ago, and the android app hasn't improved. Even the protection status is flawed- if we only take the pill 10 minutes early, it's still marked as too early an decreases protection status. We don't even have half the features that Apple users have. We can't see links posted in the forum, users have a go at us and tell us to change the category if they don't like it, but don't realise that we can't do that. There are better apps for android.
It reminded me quite often, I somehow managed to NEVER be late but sometimes took it two hours after I was supposed to, so that means the chart isn't always right. It said I was early for taking my pill because I took it one minute in advance. The little package is a good idea but the dates are wrong. Turns out, I've been clicking the package wrong the whole time because there's little arrows but I didn't notice them and I don't know about you but the 21st of August 2016 is Sunday not a Saturday. It sucks.
App changed when i got an update. Notifications don't work, I didn't notice the app had changed and ended up missing pills. Not happy with the changes at all. As a very busy person I used the previous version to keep me on schedule. I will be looking for a different app to use, as this is way to expensive.
When I first got this app ages ago I loved it. Stuck it out through many bugs and kept on... Now they've taken away most of the features I used to use and made them paid only. Sadly I just can't give money to a company that finds it OK to take features away from loyal users. If they had added things and and them paid? I probably would have to support them. But now I'll just be changing to someone else.
This app is trash. I've used it off for years on my iPhone and never had an issue. The purpose of this app is to notify you and keep you on track. It barely does that. I am testing the premium features and comparing them to the premium features on my iPhone and the functionality is not the same. Some of the premium features are not even working despite giving the option to try. Why would I even buy it if it's not working during the test phase? This app has not been updated since last year I think it's time y'all look into this.
The app is still way better in iOS. The only crossover feature Android users have is protection logs. Which don't even work correctly all the time. Android users can't change their profile picture, assign a subject to their post, view pamphlets online, click on links, or do a fraction of what iPhone users have. iPhone users will have a go at you saying your post isn't in the right category or that you should use the search bar, when the search bar doesn't work for Android users, and we can't assign categories to it. iPhone users have wayyyy more features like posting photos, voting in polls, private messaging, etc. Stick to the free version if you're on Android. Otherwise you pay for a half finished product with hardly any of the iPhone features. And not really sure why some of these features would be such a challenge to put over to Android. How hard is it to make a link clickable?
Good setup but please fix the reminders! It really defeats the purpose of an app to remind you to take the pill if it doesn't even remind you.
Update: Have not had the app forget my reminders in a long time. So glad it exists--it helps so much for taking on time! I recommend it to every girl I know who starts birth control. One downside: when inputting taking time manually, I wish I could change the date (I.e. accidentally took pill the morning after, so need to record the date as the day after.) Adding a date toggle would help.
They banned me from the forum for talking about how crappy the Android version is. The forum was the only thing keeping me from getting another app sooo lmao
I have a S7 and it's not fair I can't do anything that Iphones can do its annoying seeing everyone having profile pictures, creating polls and sending private messages the app would get 5 stars if it wasn't so unbalanced
It's really annoying when you pay 4.99 for an app to remind you to take a pill and it only reminds you 3-4 times a week instead of 7 times a week.
Notifications are broken for me now! Good thing i have a good memory.
Please update this app to be that same as I phones for androids!!!! I'm getting frustrated because I've asked multiple times and nothing else changed!!!!!!!!
When I switched phones and ready installed i lost the placebo pill option. I hadn't payed before so I didn't expect to be asked to pay for that feature I had been using it months
1.The notifications don't work. 2. It will keep asking you to create a new account. Which makes your record disappear because you have to start all over again. 3. The log which supposed to record the time pills taken don't work.
I paid for this app for certain services. those services no longer work and when attempting to get a hold of customer services I have been ignored and given the run around.
The app is great and does what it has to do, but it would be fantastic if it were complete by including all the features that non-android phones have (polls, pictures, pamphlets, overall the forum in general).
The best bc app there is. I've tried many other apps before and I've always come back to this one
Notifications on my Samsung s6 don't work, however when I had an iPhone it worked well.
You have to upgrade to use it right!
I really like this one, it keeps track of everything
Not bad
Changed phone from iphone to android and When i downloaded this app I was dissapointed to discover that it didnt have the protection status like it had on the iphone but stiked to it and now after the update its back and even better. im very pleased !! Good job and keep it up
I found out that the Androids don't have as many features as the iPhone. Also, can you add a private messaging? Many girls want answers from other specific girls and can't if the girls aren't on and can't see the post. Will rate 5 stars if Android is equal to the iPhone
Just updated last night and messed up all of my data. It said I was on my second week instead of my fourth and that I had missed pills. Had to reinstall it and start from scratch. So now all of my tracing is gone. So frustrating
I used to like this app it was great but now I have a new phone I downloaded it again and now have to pay for things I got for free on my old phone! Why??
I had to uninstall the app and when I reinstalled it all the features that were once free you now have to pay for. Total rip off.
I have been using the free version of this app for 4 months. A few weeks ago I had to reset my phone so I reinstalled this app only to find the free settings I used before now required payment. It reset all my previous existing settings and as a result didn't get my reminder .. thanks now a trip to the docs and an expenditure I could do without
It won't show my break week
I used it for years, but once I changed to an S6, the alerts won't work at all!
Great app and customer support is friendly and quick to respond to any questions. Especially glad to see protection status added. Love it.
I love this app and helps to remember to take my pill. But when giving others advice my comments won't post
Needs more themes! More colors!!! I paid for it and it sucks it was so much better on the iphone
It used to log my times and occasionally the notifications don't go off?
I've had the app for over a year and after the last update the app now force closes when I try to open it. Tried reinstalling the app and it still doesn't work!!
I may or may not have been too upset about the protection status gone but now that it's here I wish I could give more then 5 stars. Amazing app, must have for anyone on the pill trying to avoid pregnacy!
I can't change the time which sucks. My phone is not always around me so when I do get the chance to log in that I have taken my pill, the timing is off. Also it does not tell me how well protected I am. Which to me is unfair because my friend has the same app but on an iPhone and hers can do all these things. Other than that I like the app a lot it always tells me on time.

I used to love this app and rely on it! For the past 3 months the notifications have been working only half the time. I have tried ALL of their suggestions to fix it and still they don't work. Not reliable enough for a birth control app!!
