BotSync SSH SFTP for Android
the basic idea is really cool and i like it. but i believe support for "delete" option would be nice, so one can do a real sync then. bi-directional sync would be nice - but i believe this is really difficult part. the homepage of this project is full of important information: FAQ and roadmap. looking forward to newer versions.
Nice but its missing a crucial feature. Also it would be nice if it supported more than one directory pair.
Only thing I don't like is that it is password only. once can connect though a key this app will be a lot better
Great and straightforward app. It would be perfect if it had support for multiple folders rather than only one as of now. Also it would be useful to have the ability to set activity in the background (it currently stops as the screen turns off).
Schedule is great. Rsync partial / mirror / sync / multiple configurations would be great. This way we have to backup everything w/ no exclusions
Only one folder pair? I have multiple folders that I would like to sync, but this app only supports one! I'm still shopping for a solution, but this works great if you just sync all.
It does one thing and it does it extremely well. Needs support for ssh keys!!
Sync goes to about 20% and just hangs. Should have heeded the other reviews' warnings
Needs an option for bidirectional syncing, multiple folders and ssh profiles and possibly Tasker integration. UI could have looked better. Fails with non-standard characters. Other than those , it's perfect.
For a long time I would leave this running on a cycle to update php and js on a devel server while I edited files and tested it. The problem is that when a file is shortened it leaves the tail of the file on the server, breaking the code file. Also, it does not delete files on the server. Basically, it needs some options or a way to edit the rsync command line parameters. This has become a major problem, and I have switched to using a different app for rsync to the remote server.
This app looked very promising. I set it up to sync with my SSH server, and it starts downloading the first file. Once the file has been downloaded, it app crashes. I can start it up again, but it does the same thing. It will download the file, but does not write the file to the phone. It crashes without providing any indication of what is going on.
It kept re-uploading backuped files, saying "local file is newer" which is not true. Otherwise it's a good app, but if you want to backup more than one folders in you phone you have to re-configure the app which is not very convenient
A program you can trust that will synchronize all your files. Has one way synchronization either up or down, but not both. If you need that try foldersync from tacit developers. Cheap and reliable
If you have an SSH enabled VPS, this app is defenitly the best availlable options, to backup your mobilephone data: - No funky permission need. - BSD licensed - SUPER easy set-up. - No commercials. 4 stars because it's so perfect i want to encourage the devs to become even more perfect! :D
This app has helped simplify the transfer of images from phone to wireless external hard drive for me...I wish it had an option to delete the original after the file transfer was successful.
I'm using for a day. It works well on SFTP sync. I moved to this app after the FolderSync app stopped syncing over SFTP. Although the most missing thing for me is the schedule and the filter options. Maybe making it a Tasker plugin can add the schedule feature at least. Thanks for the great effort! I'll keep using it over the FolderSync.
Does what it says: rsync over WiFi, at roughly 500-700 Kb/s. Very easy to set up but lacks scalability (multiple configurations would be great). Has become my default sync tool for android. Thanks for the great work!
would love for multiple profile support..
Agree with comments from others about features wanted, but this does exactly what I need. Was getting frustrated with other apps all wanting me to sync using some cloud service... I don't want that...all I need is a light weight app to sync with my own Linux box. Almost gave up and started writing my own app until I found this one. Great work!
I was looking for something to sync my photos and files from many devices to my Linux desktop. Working great on my Galaxy note II and a generic tablet. My suggestion if you use it on your phone and don't need to update very often is to set the check period to 3600 or higher, if you want to sync your external memory card it should be /storage/extSdCard/DCIM , at least on a galaxy device.
One for everyones tool box perfect for backing up to a NAS
Would be a 5-star if would not have to go trough all file every time you sync. Time consuming.
I love this, but I really don't want it trying to sync over 3G. Would also be great to specify an exclude pattern.
She's what it says very well. Wish it could be automated.
Would be nice to have several configurations and easy switching among them. Aside from that, it does the job I wanted done, moving files between my Nexus and my Linux desktop without detouring through the Cloud, and using standard SSH server software on the Linux side. I like that this does not add a file server to the Android system (that might be left running when I didn't expect it to be).
Great app, does what I need it to do. Some more options would be great. Remove deleted files on server like rsync maybe some schedule options, when connected via wifi sync etc. But for a free app it is fantastic, good job many thanks.
But found a better alternative - Folder Sync.
It works. Can't ask for much more than that.
a scheduler / run in background would be great. For the wifi only feature a restriction by essid would also be nice. And why choose upload/download? How about both.
Great app but I would really like scp fallback as my server doesn't support sftp. I hope you can provide an update with this feature. Thank you.
As mentioned by someone else it would be nice to use ssh keys instead of a password. Have also changed my mind, and I'd prefer something where I can ask my tablet to either push or pull and not be setup to run constantly. Otherwise this is working great over sftp.
Excellent job on this one guys, very stable application!
I use it selectively to sync emulator data to and from my computer. Would recommend it to anyone who needs to transfer data from static directories constantly.
If you have a linux desktop this is a must have app!
Auto upload of my pics to my server. Seized phone? It's just hardware.
You would think, since Android is based on Linux, that the core of common Linux tools would be natively available. This app gives you handy, secure, easy access to your files while on the road. Many thanks for a great app!

Needs to support file changes, that way when I delete a file on my SD card, it will also delete from my server. It's a simple hash comparison.
