Jaguar InControl Apps for Android
Get your act together. Dropped the rating as Spotify was pulled off the app list again. Why the inconsistency? *Update - Spotify was just pushed through, so I've given an extra star for that. Now we just need Gmaps and it will be great! Please update to include suoport for Spotify and navigation with Google maps.
My girlfriends jeep at half the cost of my jaguar can directly install apps to the car, no need for a phone...with very limited app support! Junk
Awful app. HTC 10 not yet compatible to download contacts into Jaguar F Pace memory for direct phone access. No useful apps provided within this app. Needs to support Spotify and Waze to be even remotely useful. Only giving one star, would prefer to give zero, in order to submit review.
Any chance of a music streaming app? £40k for the car then this
This is a poor imitation, to not have the option of android auto in such an expensive car when all of the competition has it is ridiculous. Is it genuinely making me rethink my car choice as it makes long trips so much harder.
Basically, in a word, it's crap! My Volvo had android built into the car itself and the system worked perfectly. JLR have tried to save costs by making the phone do the work. That's fine for if the app is any good but it's not. I have a second dedicated android handset that is connected to my Jag's WiFi hot-spot with a USB cable permanently linking it to the car. It's so slow and unreliable. I've now got an Amazon Echo Dot on order and I will be connecting this to the hot-spot and using an aux lead.
Hugely disappointed. Dealer described InControl as similar or even better than Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. I've tried both and Jaguar InControl apps are not even in the same category.
I've had my new F-Pace since July, and there is not one incontrol app I find useful. Furthermore, the selection of apps is limited and rarely if ever do they add new ones. Please add more common and useful apps like Pandora, Waze, Foursquare, GasBuddy, etc. I mean why would I ever pay for navigation with traffic when there are far superior apps that are free like Waze. This has the potential to be a good feature, but it desperately needs someone to do an overhaul of the existing content.
After owning my car for 18 months I used InControl Apps a few times and then realised it was pretty much useless. There are no apps that I find useful at all.
Very limited use. With few apps, the better ones such as Spotify appear to be iOS only. Apart from multiple navigation apps (What don't Jaguar like about their in-built navigation?) the only use I have found is playing the music on my phone through a more informative link than Bluetooth.
As echoed by all of its users it seems, this app is terrible. It does not reflect the quality of the car especially when one pays a lot extra for the touch pro system which was sold on the apps "merits". The website clearly shows that spotify is listed as a compatible app but this does not appear within the list. None of the other apps seem relevant to the use of the vehicle (I'm sure you know what the weather is if you're driving...). This is a very poor product from jaguar and definitely not what you expect after spending £40k on a car. For shame!!!
This app is garbage, half the time it doesn't work when my android is plugged in and I select something to play like an audio book or music. It is completely garbage, and for the price of these cars it's extremely disappointing.
Useful on a cold morning - when it works. It's unreliable. Often crashes and fails to update. Expect much better from a premium brand. The app feels 'beta' at best.
Needs hard wire connection. Crashes ICTP. worst infotainment system on the best car in the market.
Awful base app. Very few InControl apps are available, and the ones that exist are not real useful.
I have Jaguar and Land Rover but cant load both apps OK you would say as it the same system why would you need to MMMMMMMMMM Now Spotify as I have the Spotify app on my phone it dose not load it part of the app, so in my expensive InControl pro I cant see the files Both of you need to sort it and Call it a JLR APP PLEASE Or do we have to keep to one brand?? Yes ANSWER ONLY FOR iOS of course why ANDROID??? no one uses them
Jaguar should be embarrassed to include this in their vehicles. Music app freezes during every album. Navigation app requires payment after thirty days...just hoping they reboot the entire concept.
Very limited functionality. Still waiting for Spotify (it's available on Apple so when do we get it?). Have a friend who owns a Peugeot, she can ask her phone to play a track from Spotify and it will then play through cars entertainment system. So much for a luxury car brand Jaguar
iOS version has Spotify and AccuWeather, fair enough the app is still crap not enough participating apps. Android has NOTHING decent....NOTHING
Another useless Jaguar app. Won't connect to my fpace. I have to use the USB in the back seat to charge my phone.
I can not use the functions from the car's screen to navigate my iHeart playlist , I always have to be looking at my phone which is annoying and also dangerous while driving , my wife's Iphone works better , at this point its easier to change the phone than changing the car :).
Not very good. So few apps. We need Android auto.
So Spotify now supported, but what about other apps such as Waze or Google Maps!? Really needs better app support! *update. Spotify gone again!*
Whilst the basic idea is good the implementation in appalling. In short it doesn’t work, according to the JLR web site my phone is compatible but whilst sometimes it works and sometimes the car screen locks and you have to turn the ignition off and wait before the screen can be used. The apps that are supported are minimal, bizarrely there are two navigation apps (that you have to pay for) and navigation is standard equipment on the car, however if you require safety camera warnings and don’t want to pay Jaguar an additional £1,200 for an upgrade you will need to pay for an app (that won’t work anyway). Jaguar’s response to these complaints was to say that that have policy of “continually looking to improve and enhance the functionality”. But since the JLR site shows no upgrade for the XE since its launch they obviously aren’t very serious. A quick trawl through the Jaguar XE forums will reveal that these complaints are common. What a shame that Jaguar should produce such a good car and then let it down by such a poor infotainment system.
Badly rendered, and a poor choice of apps.
The only useful app is iHeartRadio and that's it. There is one navigation app that cost $100 and looks like it is straight from the 90s. Everything about this app is dated.
Far too limited, and it needs to support Bluetooth.
It need to allow helpful apps such as spotify and Google maps etc
Where is the spotify compatability? Works perfectly with I Phone... not android...
Needs more useful apps such as Spotify
InControl App
Jaguar offers this program which is just a collection of apps of its own choosing in one interface, but it is practically useless. There are much better apps that do the same job as these apps, and many more that can't be had in this program. Jaguar would have done much better if they made sure that InControl just mirrored the users own phone screen so that they could use the apps of their own choice.
It rarely connects to my phone (I have tried different phones) and when it does it ia unstable and only works with some of the apps. Wastes a lot of time trying to get it working.
Uses Google music but you can't stream anything that is not saved to your phone. Does not have support for popular Google apps. Jaguar needs to catch up or defer to android.
App works ok. But it's missing popular app support, Waze, Pandora, Google apps ( maps, now, newsstand ) etc... I do not use it now as I just BT my apps from the phone. Please add more app support.
13 apps to choose from, where do I start.... I don't, they are all rubbish! Google maps, Waze, Deezer, Spotify to name a few!
Pandora please!
I had this installed for a few days with my 2016 XF, ended up uninstalling it. Google Maps, Pandora, Audible, Spotify, Tidal, or other commonly used apps are nowhere to be found. Despite requiring a USB connection it sends audio to the head unit via bluetooth. So you have the ability to listen to lesser quality audio using unfamiliar and limited "appz." No thanks ... I put my CD collection on a 256GB USB drive in lossless WMA, and I just use my phone for playlists, Audible, and streaming media.
This is the best you could do on a 90k F-Type? Whoever is curating the app selection should be fired.

Terrible, inconsistent, hardly ever connects and a waste of time. I cannot believe Jaguar that markets itself as a luxury brand would sell such a crappy option that does not work as it should. Disgusting Jaguar and based on the user feedback you probanly don"t really give a damn.
