Boat Browser for Android

Finally i found the best browser to replace my opera browser for 9 years. I tried so many browser android but lack of features. But this one is nearly perfect. You can save page, smooth rendering, less from laggy, almost read all web correctly, night mode, scroll bar, gesture. But need to improve loading speed.

I'm not exactly sure why Boat is always redirecting links to the Play Store when trying to open certain links (LinkedIn, Wikipedia). If I wanted those apps I would have downloaded them already. I'm opening these links in a BROWSER and I expect them open in a BROWSER. Come on guys... get with it.

.. for finally having a browser that is fast, fluid, intuitive, customizable, full supported and has by far the best night mode I've seen! This way I can finally browse with my galaxy s3 with less strain on the eyes, SAVE BATTERY(amoled hates white backgrounds) and not feel restricted in any way!

Used to be one of the best browser. Now, just full of pop up, ads, constant freezing and forced close. The browser itself secretly visit bunch of ads website in the background. You can verify this by clearing your most visit, then visit a random page. Open new tab and check most visit again and you can see bunch of random ads site. Even with Google.

Latest update has ruined what I used to consider the best browser. I could handle ads when I closed the app out, but now you get an ad when you first open up the app. This causes major slowdowns just to get into the browser. Forget opening the browser to look something up quick. Also now the app doesn't show up when I hit the recents button. Which makes it tough to jump back and forth between apps.

Better to install Firefox with this one and they might turn the internet back on. Must be because my LG's not compatible with their built-in, stock (Chrome) browser! Just too complex! No one will ever figure this one out neither... ????

9/23/17: My favorite browser now either constantly crashes or freezes on my Galaxy A5 2016 on Marshmallow. Unable to use this browser totally. But on my LG K10 2017 on Nougat, no problem, but does not appear on background tasks. I will now be downloading a previous version APK.

Used to be really good then all the ads appeared, which doesn't really bother me too much. After a recent Samsung android update it keeps crashing and only starting up half the time. Phone completely freezes until boat browser is closed via the task menu. Pity, probably the best browser I've used on android. Please fix!

Since the last update, it doesn't always open, sometimes it hangs, i have to force stop and try to open app again. I am using Android 7. It's getting to the point I'm going to have uninstall it and find a new browser. Shame, I've had it for a few years at least.

A few editions ago, Boat was my go to Browser. But, an increasing number of sites do not work with it. That said and done, when it does work, the way it manages downloads, bookmarks and cut/paste, make it as good of a browsing experience Ive seen for the Android environment.

I've emailed you again today about this recents bugs and a few other issues. Many Pro users like myself are irritated with this issue. Can you give me some sort of e-mail reponse to say you are addressing the issues or not.

This is my favorite Android browser. I would use Chrome, but it doesn't have tabs on the top like my desktop browser does. I need my tabs, and so boat browser is my daily driver. It's also a very stable browser. Gestures is one of the most useful functions as well. I am so used to gestures to get to my bookmarked pages that clicking an icon to get to bookmarks, like on my PC, feels inefficient. Overall great browser, IMHO the best for Android.

Ads at the start, ads at the end... I get that this is free but this has become another cash grab by greedy developers after getting 5 million downloads... Really is such a shame these guys decided to double their ads

Boat browser doesn't appear in recent apps since nougat update!!! UI could be less childish. I wish I could have a start page with history or frequently used sites ... s7edge nougat carrier free

Hi .. it's the best browser and I am using it from Long time but the latest update has some issues with it.. when you click the boat browser icon .. it doesn't open quickly...the main page of Boat browser stays on the screen for a while and then goes to quick excess bookmarks page .. Secondly the Boat Browser doesn't show in recent apps in Samsung Galaxy s7 with the latest update.. please look into these issues and solve them ...thanks

After a recent update the app won't start properly half the time. It will attempt to open and shut down again. Even re-installing didn't fix the issue. The recent update also has a auto open ad upon start up; which while annoying was minor compared to the constant shut downs. Once a good app that's been rendered unusable.

UPDATE- Reduced to 3 stars. Still love the browser but it no longer shows in recent app list, therefore, lost some simple functionality. Original review - I've used virtually every browser available and now my search is over. Boat is simple, pleasing on the eye and most importantly fast. Thoughtfully set out UI and as customisable as you want although the basics is all you need.

I really like it, but can't use it because of a numerose bugs. Please add something like "send debugging info" right to browser menus. Can confirm that nothing has changed. Browser keep crashing.

Update- Been the best browser I could have had for android. I can live with ads, even ads all the time because essentially its free and has a wide range of features. But recently the frequent crashes have done it for me. Cant browse without it freezing and force closing. Lowered the rating. Please do something about the crashes.

This browser used to be really good, but now that they've added all of the ads it's a pretty terrible experience. The browser doesn't even show up in Recent Apps anymore. What a joke!

But now it is horrible, first of all, I hate it when you open the browser and before anything else an ad pops up. The browser used to be lightning fast, but now it is quite laggy. It also doesn't show up in recent apps as well. Just roll back the update and the browser will then be worthy of 5 stars.

Used to be the best but not anymore. Tired of the freezing and force closes. If these arent fixed, im deleting it permanently. Update: And now full screen ads are popping up as soon as you open the app and every time you open a new tab. Extremely annoying. No longer have the patience for this app. What was once my absolute favorite web browser will now be deleted, maybe permanently.

This is not the same Boat Browser I remember. The Boat Browser didn't have obnoxious ads. This app has obtrusive ads that has drop my opinion of it drastically. Whoever bought this app from the original owners has completely ruined it's name.

Used to love this browser, I have used it for YEARS but it looks like I'll have to find something else now unfortunately. The full screen ads really tick me off when I am in a hurry to try and do something quickly. Thanks for becoming greedy and shooting yourself in the foot devs.

I had been using boat browser for a very long time and it had been my main browser, however, when my phone upgraded to nougat I found myself extremely irritated to note that the boat browser no longer shows in the recent apps and therfore multitasking has become a constant pain. I was therefore forced to move away from boat browser. Thinking that the problem would be resolved by now I tried using boat browser again only to find myself irritated again. I strongly request the boat browser team to have this issue resolved asap so I can return to using my favourite browser again please.

3/16/17 - The problem with the shortcuts has reappeared but now is on my tab4. Am I the only one that has this annoying problem ? Don't find any other posts mentioning it. 11/30/16 - The problem with the shortcuts is back after the recent update. 7/29/14 - Every time I update it renames all my home screen shortcuts. I have quite a few and this problem requires me to recreate all of them. My GS4 is all stock but have experienced this problem over and over again. Boat support can't seem to identify the root cause. It may be time to go back to Chrome or Dolphin. Very frustrating.

Crashes on opening. Latency when searching, then multiple crashes. Galaxy S7, android version 7.0. It makes me sad to have to delete this app. It *was* the best browser I've ever used. I'm clearly not the only person with this problem. I see nothing from the developers about a patch in the works. Hello? Anyone working on this?

As everyone else states, this used to be my favorite browser. Now with ads, especially the video ads, it locks up, it freezes, it is slow, it crashes, it disappears and does not show up in recent apps. It has turned into a nightmare! Are the developers still around, and support this?

weird random beeping sound while playing video in this browser, never hapen in my ori phone browser. And it didnt appear in multi apps list, it become very tedious when I want to swiching within defferent apps.

It's kind of funny, I stopped using boat due to stability problems a few years ago after it being my favorite browser for a long time, but it was reinstalled and I gave it another shot. Best UI around. But, always a bug... why doesn't it show up in my recent apps? if I multitask to another app, and come back via the recent apps, it's not there. it also looks like the app is abandoned, last update almost a year ago. sad to see it go.

but most of the problems are the app. Needs work, e.g. no flash, floating window crashes, few add-ons, few settings, no text wrap, no tab history, no restarting with last tabs open, downloading links cumbersome, no overriding website settings, no option to save bookmarks to Dropbox or Google drive, can't create new folder when adding bookmarks.Come on, you used to be great, c'mon, upgrade!

Upd. 13/1 Αfter 43 days they didn't fixed anything. I so regret i paid for this app. They don't even answer to emails. 0 stars (((Worked good till the latest update. Now browser does not appear on task list. Not found on double tap like other running apps You have to find the icon to launch it. One of the most useful Android function ruined by the latest update. Two stars until the fix it

Now it doesnt show up in the recent apps display, to open it I have to click the app again, even when its running with windows open. And now every new tab launches an ad page. This is only a day or two old issue, but it's making it useless if not fixed, Firefox seems to be my new default, hope this gets fixed, i have been using this for years and it was always great.

Used to be the best. Now firefox sync does not work and constantly crashes. Being a Pro user I would expect some support but so far, emails have gone unanswered.

Recently updated S6 to Android 7. Boat browser is no longer recognized in android's recent app feature that allows for switching between apps or multitasking with 2 apps on the same screen.

This was my browser for years and over the last few months it has quit opening. I keep it and check it every so often hoping for an update so it works again. I would love to be able to rate it five stars again.

As I see, I'm not the only dissatisfied user who's not feeling this update. I like many have used this browser for years, but this update came with too many ad pop-ups and it no longer shows up in the list of open tasks/apps. I was using it just now and something popped up outta nowhere saying, "update your android browser or your device will lock up within a day" Needless to say... uninstalled!

Downloading is super fast. Tried so many popular and new ones. Surely ⛵ is the winner. It hangs some times. Not sure whether the problem is with my Android/other security apps. Truly very happy with browsing experience.

It's Now Crazy To See A Browser I Love So Much No Longer Appear In My Background Multi-Tasks LineUp..And For That Reason,I Am Un_Installing It Immediately..I Can't Go Back To Exactly The Same Page I Browsed Out To Be On.It Will Have To Take Me Back To HomePage To Start Afresh.Give Us Back The Old Browser and I Would Give A Five Star...
