What is BMI ?
Body Mass Index is a person's weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters. A high BMI can be an indicator of high body fatness.
Metric Method - The metric formula accepts height measurements in meters and weight in kilograms.
BMI = (Weight in Kilograms)/(Height in meters * Height in meters)
Steps -
1. Multiply your height by itself.
2. Divide your weight in kilograms by the value calculated in step 1.
Imperial (US) Method - The imperial formula accepts height measurements in inches and weight in pounds.
BMI = (Weight in Pounds * 703)/(Height in inches * Height in inches)
Steps -
1. Multiply your weight in pounds by 703.
2. Multiply your height in inches by itself
3. Divide the figure from step 1 by the figure in step 3.
How is BMI interpreted for adults?
BMI - Weight Status
Below 18.5 - Underweight
18.5 – 24.9 - Normal or Healthy Weight
25.0 – 29.9 - Overweight
30.0 and Above - Obese
How good is BMI as an indicator of body fatness?
The accuracy of BMI as an indicator of body fatness also appears to be higher in persons with higher levels of BMI and body fatness. While, a person with a very high BMI (e.g., 35 kg/m2) is very likely to have high body fat, a relatively high BMI can be the results of either high body fat or high lean body mass (muscle and bone).

It is a good app to calculate BMI

After working my butt off (literally) for the past few months to lose weight, I got this app to see my progress. Not only did it tell me what my bmi was, but it said: "Oops! You really need to take care of yourself better! Workout maybe?" How ignorant. I've been doing just that to lose the total of 22 pounds so far. I don't recommend this app. However, I do recommend the developer stop making assumptions of people's lifestyles because they're not where they need to be yet.

I'm 110 pounds and 5.6 it told me that I was 50 pounds over wight, it said that I was obese I don't think I should be 60 pounds, this app really dose suck.

This app doesn't really care with your age or your sex as long as put the right height and weight they just calculate it so the developer maybe just remove the age and gender because it doesn't just make sense at all
