Beyond Science

Have been a fan of Mike Chen and his amazing Youtube channel for a long time now. A digital magazine was the only obvious way to step it up. Love your work!

The articles are good, but the app itself is very frustrating to use due to scrolling up and down almost never working right. Either the pages try to silde right/left or not at all with even the most blatant up/down swiping. There also needs to be a navigable menue please.

I would like fewer articles that have been covered on the YouTube channel. Maybe some that didn't quite make the cut. My other gripe is there were a couple, The Vimanas and the Bermuda Triangle articles, that have been extensively covered in the show 'Ancient Aliens'. But that's fine, not everyone watches that show and even they cover things that have been covered by other sources. It's just a thing that happens, no matter the media source or genre. All-in-all, the first issue is great and I hope the second is just as good. Keep up the good work, team!

Congratulations Mikey! You've been working very hard at this. Reminds me of when I was a Charter Member subscriber in 1976 to OMNI magazine. It was a high end, coffee table book quality publication that blended leading edge science with noetic & paranormal breakthroughs. I participated in my first Remote Viewing experiment with them, and I was shocked at my accurate results. Sadly, after a few years, they went out of business when paper prices skyrocketed. I remember when softcover books were 95¢! I have subscribed and I look forward to reading your first issue.

Article content was for the most part quite good. Wording in a few places definitely works as spoken, but not as a written piece. Layout of app could use a lot of improvement, check out some UX guides. On small screens the text formatting is quite disorganised. Very happy that you've finally got this out there! Keep up the good work. Looking forward to app updates.

Probably one of the most anticipated thing for us Beyond Science fans! So glad it's finally made available and I cannot wait to see what they have to offer. Great potential, great content.

I really like the app and the content. Been a long time YouTube subscriber. But the scrolling, dear lord the sideways scrolling is sensitive. It takes me about 20 attempts to get the article to start moving in the vertical plane.

Love the channel and excited about the future editions. I have found the app a bit hard to control in regards to scrolling on HTC 10, it seems to not want to scroll up and down anywhere near and easily as it should do instead most times like to try move left and right and having to use 2 finger gesture to try and make is scrolling up and down. Good luck with the the future content.

Beyond Science is an AMAZING YouTube channel for anyone who enjoys learning about the mysterious.  And Mike Chen and the Beyond Science team bring that same amazingness to the Beyond Science app. Mike Chen's passion for the mysterious and for learning is apparent  in every one of his videos.  The way he presents the information really makes you want to learn more, and he has inspired me to actively go out and research and learn about new and interesting things.  In this day and age when everyone is trying to sway everyone else's opinion, it is VERY refreshing to have someone who enjoys learning about interesting things  and who just wants to unbiasedly share information about the mysteries of our universe.  Watch just one of his videos and I promise that you will have a greater appreciation for the universe we live in.  I strongly encourage you to subrscribe to his magazine and check out his YouTube channel Beyond Science.  Learn something new, question the unexplained and help be apart of the group of people who push humanity forward.

Gunna write u a review. Lol. Keep up the good work! The app is a little clunky on my HTC 10 but that's probably cuz I have to much stuff. However for the price ur asking to pay and the content u make I'll be happy to support u and ur teams channel/app and I hope that in the near future this app will be filled with content and improvements!

Enjoy the channel both the science and food... i like this idea and i would rate more... but for some reason im having difficulty in browsing with the app... when i slide to scroll to read more the app turns to the next page and i have to start again on the previous page...

Better formatting for smart phones. A lot of the text is spaced out weirdly or stretched because pictures and changing sizes does not help to fix this, but all together it is great and very interesting

The information is good and I'm glad the magazine is out, but it seemed to be lacking a professional feeling. Some of the grammar was a little messy, perhaps sounding better when spoken rather than written, and also I think there was a mispelling or two. For example, I can't reference anything because I don't remember which article this was in, but I think 'lightening' was used when it should have been 'lightning'. Also, there seems to be a little bit of the writer's perspective at the ends of some passages, which in isn't normally used in informative articles. Perhaps this is just the style you were going for, trying to include the reader a little more (maybe?), but I would've liked to see less subjective writing and a little more down to earth information. Keep up the good work.

Mike I like your channels and your food stuff. I thought you were a nice guy... So sad I can't skip the paying things on your app, wouldn't mind to pay 4$ a month if the free trial wasn't a scam... I used to love you I'm disappointed now

I've been looking forward to this since it was announced on your youtube channel. However the app does not work on my galaxy s3. Hopefully this will be fixed soon as I can't wait to start reading.

It is refreshing to have a magazine devoted to the exploration to the odd and unusual topics of the universe and by doing so you do not know what other doors will open. Absolutely a fascinating journey into rarely ventured topics! This magazine is a mix between the twilight zone and night gallery coming to life..Well done!!

The scrolling needs work! I gave up reading because of it!

Absolutely love learning about our universe. Found Mikey's YT channel around 4 years ago and have always found his videos to be insightful and thought provoking. When i heard that he had started up a new venture, I was more than happy to take a look and help out by downloading the Beyond Science magazine.

I'm so excited for next month's issue! It had really great content and has been fun to read! I would like to see in the future: Having a list of resources at the end of each article, so we can decide for ourselves if we trust the sources and so that we can learn more for ourselves. More in depth articles, some were really awesome and included a lot, but others were very broad. That's ok, bc fast concise reads are nice, but it would be cool to have more specific versions in the future. I don't know if this is something that can be done or not, but maybe a save where you left off feature? I generally read during tiny breaks, so I only get to read about half the article and then I have to go back and find my place later. Also, I have the amazing tendency to scroll to the next page instead of scrolling down so when I head back, I have to refind my spot! Thank y'all for such a good first issue! Addition: I just read the Bermuda triangle article. I really appreciate how it is taking things from a more scientific stance instead of just assuming whatever mystery appeals to the author. I do think that something freaky is going on in that area, but we will never be able to figure it out if we can't separate fact from fiction. It still might be a weird area because of alien abductions or whatever, but we will never know the cause until we can stop throwing conspiracy theories at everything to get a sensational read. So this was my favourite and even with no conspiracies, still sensational read!

I love the YouTube channel and Mike Chen always has very interesting topics he discusses. I like that this goes into further detail of those topics that are shown in the videos. It would be nice to see a story or two that hasn't been covered just as a bonus but I am completely satisfied with the efforts that went into making this! Great job and keep up the good work!

Anyway, im glad u find another way to educate and inform people in your very unique way jampacked with humor,facts,mystery etc. That made learning and discovering fun and effective. I love the articles and the wordings are quite interesting. I was thinking maybe you could have a lil word puzzle or some brain teasers inside there also. Just a suggestion, it seems magazine like. Since the articles are already thought provoking, puzzles or teasers around the same topics can make it interactive.

I LOVE the magazine. It's the best of the YouTube channel, Beyond Science with more in-depth info. My only issue is how it can be a little "sticky" when trying to scroll down it likes to scroll sideways. Keep up the great work!

The beyond science YouTube channel is one of my favorites. Bringing to light interesting stories and different perspectives. This magazine continues that tradition but with more in depth research. It has quickly become a favorite reader of mine.

I don't mind if the topics covered here are also discussed on the channel as long as it digs deeper or provide additional information.

Finally credible, researched, non conventional, or mainstream dumbed down explanations for everything amazing that happens and has happened in the world. The open minded have a magazine to comfortably read.

The app works well. The articles are well written and entertaining, bringing you stories that show you how much we truly do not know about the world around us.

I absolutely loved the articles and how in depth they went. Simple to understand language and beautifully illustrated, that I can share with my young grandchildren.
