About Morse Code Trainer

If you ever anticipate being held prisoner and handcuffed to a drain pipe somewhere and the only person looking for you is either Jack Bauer or Chuck Norris and the only way to communicate your position to them is tapping Morse Code on the pipe then you will definitely need this app!

Even though Morse Code is becoming increasingly popular around the world in underground pop culture, it's astonishing to know that 99% of the people of the world either do not know Morse Code or even care that it exists. For you lucky few that have come to realize or even imagine the benefit from being able to communicate with others via eye blinking, table tapping, or smoke signals then this app will be an invaluable asset to you as you study your way to becoming a Morse Code ninja.

*****Please be aware that this app uses your device's vibrator to play the Morse code pulses. If your device does not have a vibrator such as the motorola Xoom or if your vibrator is disabled in some way you will not be able to use the app. When I get some spare time I plan to update it to use a variety of methods for playback, but for now please be aware of this limitation.

As someone who can head copy 20+ wpm and was looking for a good app to teach a 7 year old. I found this app dreadfull. I can put up with a clunky UI but when the app describes me as a wimp because IT thinks F is "-" when its "..-." Then someone needs to learn morse eleswhere - uninstalled . End of! Disgraceful!

Worst UX ever.. not at all intuitive!!!!!

Overall, its a great learning tool, but the letter v is programmed incorrectly, reads out . . - as both u and v. Frustrating. But ill never forget u and v

This looks like it would be great for quizzing and getting the alphabet learned. No luck though, on my Galaxy S3, I get no vibration at all. I'd love to try again when this is updated. Thanks!

Q70%
by Q####:

Doesn't make any sound at all, it only buzzes the letter on a Samsung Galaxy Tab. Even if you answer correctly, it says WRONG! This app is a waste of time.

IMHO to learn high speed morse, one needs to follow one of serious methodologies. This program is too simple for that. On the other side, for morse code basics is superb. It is hilariously done - small, fast, easy, free and asking no scary permitions. Great job.

Can't hear any sound on a Droid RAZR. I can see where they want to go, but it's not there yet.

I downloaded this but it shows only one mark/symbol and doesn't teach.

I tried this app, but to no avail, there was no sound.

It doesn't make any Morse code noise to guess the letter uninstalled

Cant see the letter on galaxy s2...

Great simple app to help u learn Morse code on the fly. Very bare bones and that's why i like it. Great job!

N70%
by N####:

Confusing, crap UI, lacks any thought or creativity. Completely useless. There are much better out there. Don't waste your time with this app.

I have forgotten so many of these! Would be helpful if an option for mnemonics were included (i.e. D "Dog did it", etc.), but i know a work is always in progress. Love how quickly the developer responded to my "v" question... had a reply within 30mins!

L70%

What use is an incorrect trainer? Vibration is good for learning code where you can't use tones, only reason I gave 3 stars. Needs a proper copying mode where it sends text, not just single letters.

C70%
by C####:

GREAT APP!!! Now I know the different sounds if dah dit. Or dash dot. ;p

C70%
by C####:

Nice little app for learning Morse code. The charts are very helpful. Would be nice to have sound in addition to the vibrating

C70%
by C####:

I'm pretty sure 'v' is wrong, should be ...- not ..- which is 'u.'

The binary tree is really nice. I downloaded this app for the sake of not annoying those around me since it uses vibration instead of sound. Like other reviews have mentioned, it gives Morse for 'u' when it expects 'v'.

C70%
by C####:

The letter V is wrong. On the program it's the same as U with dit dit dah. V should be dit dit dit dah. Other than that good app. I like the no sound.

H70%

I love this app. It has helped me. Would love to be able to use the speaker or headphones. And have numbers and other characters.

Full screen can't be seen on htc wildfire, only the letters and cut off grey tops of lower buttons. Cannot use. Please fix for small screen.
