About Trustable by Bluebox

The Trustable by Bluebox app provides Android mobile phone and table users, and any interested parties, with a security trust score illustrating how trustable the device is for security and protection of data.

The Trustable by Bluebox app:
- Provides a consistent and on-going method to measure the security properties and trustability of a device, including any known vulnerabilities
- Computes a security-centric trust score in a range of 0.0 to 10.0, based up on all discovered information, including the analysis of various configuration and settings information
- Provides specific instructions for users to improve their device trust score
- Enables users to make informed decisions on which vendors/devices make below-average or above-average security decisions

The types of items that are represented in the trust score:
- Known system vulnerabilities on the device
- Insecure configurations caused by the device vendor
- Insecure configurations caused by the device user
- The amount of pre-installed applications, third party applications, “bloatware”, and other excessive device population

As mentioned above, the Trustable by Bluebox app provides a security-centric trust score in a range of 0.0 to 10.0, where a score of 0.0 represents an insecure and un-trustable device, and a score of 10.0 represents a device following above-average security best practices and having a good overall security state.

You can see the full description of what specific security-related aspects of the device are measured and analyzed to create the trust score here: https://bluebox.com/trustable-by-bluebox/

Seriously, if you can detect what's wrong, why won't the app tell me what the hell is wrong?

It is nice that this app is continuously updated for new vulnerabilities. Also it is a good idea to run this app before deciding to buy a mobile device as it gives u a good idea of its security trustability .

S70%
by S####:

requires network connection, also unmaintained (last updated in November 2015) which is a no-no for security

UPDATE: Fixed. OLD: had been using this informative app for over a year w/o problems. I liked the fact that I knew what & how many my phone's vulnerabilities were. Two updates ago, it stopped working, saying I had supposedly "opted out" of sending device statistics to Bluebox. There was no way for me to change that setting. With the last update, Webroot now identifies this app as a trojan, called "Gen.Heu". Can the dev comment? For now, uninstalling for the second time.

More polite about rooting and agrees with AolWral on the escalated vulnerability count. Gionee has taken over this phone. And Google says. And it got blocked, troll.

... explain why an app that tells you how trustable your device is... ends up actually detected with 18 "viruses" itself?...

Is this app truly accurate? It says my Verizon note 3 has 6 vulnerabilities, which I won't name. Who gives a flip anyway. No ones phone including iphone is invulnerable to surveillance.

Why does this app claim my device is vulnerable to BroadAnywhere when it runs 5.01?

N70%

...Until last update. Now it takes on forever to score or find vulnerabilities, which never happens

Decent thingymebob that does whatever it does wonderfully well I'm sure. Good NSA data gather with murderous subliminal messages, I'm on my fourth and getting better every day. The auto start is a pain in the buttocks though, thank God buttocks are easily removed with an electronic carving knife. Chin chin

N70%

A few things seem incorrect but maybe that's since Android M is not complete yet. Also please scrap that auto start.

Stopped working after update first time around. Second time app still malfunctions. Avast labeled it stage fright exploit threat in red for the second time after I installed app. Hit ignore threat in Avast and Trustable icon spins around and never gives rating. Had to uninstall.... again.

"Device not recognized?" You guys blasted Xiaomi for a counterfeit Mi4 you guys purchased, and now you guys don't know what device this is? Security must not be your thing.

Y70%

A fairly accurate scanner but you guys need to lose he auto-start at phone boot or at least make that optional. Also providing direct links to system settings to fix issues might be good for other non technical users.

It's good that it keeps updating for new vulnerablities detected. Should be able to save the data as a file for troubleshooting purposes. Run this app before you even try to randomly buy a new phone. Provide direct links to a problem in the phone because some people like me aren't that techy

Please add a "save data to file" option so that it would be useful I troubleshooting problems and Sony for assistance. Thank you.
