About BlueVPN+
This program opens a VPN connection through the bluetooth or USB channel and allows to navigate the internet without a WiFi or a built-in 3G module. It requires one of:
- Android smartphone/tablet with BlueDUN installed and running
- GPRS phone with Dial-Up Networking (DUN) support
- USB Stick with 3G or PSTN Modem
NO ROOTING NEEDED!!
This app is compatible with Android 4.0 , 4.1 , 4.2 , 4.3 and 5.0. It doesn't work with Kit Kat versions (4.4.*) due to a VPN issue. PLEASE DON'T WRITE COMMENTS ABOUT THIS VERSIONS!
This app works ONLY IF your device can manage VPN connections, in particular if the TUN.KO module is present. This module strictly depends on the hardware and must be compiled specifically for it. Some manufacturers prepare the firmware without re-compile that module or they even remove the file, so, it is not possible to open a VPN and not possible to use apps for the VPN (like OpenVPN or DroidVPN); please take a look to this link:

INSTALLATION:
1. Create the BT pairing between this client device (with BlueVPN+ installed) and the host device or simply connect the USB stick
2. Make sure you have a valid internet connection and the BT-DUN profile on host; if necessary install the BlueDUN app
3. In case of direct modem connection (no Android phones) or USB modem, insert in the setting panel the dial phone number, the access point and the other connection parameters
4. Some 3G stick modems require the "Modem compatibility" option enabled
Normal use:
1. Activate the DUN service / open the BlueDUN app on host device or plug the modem USB stick
2. Open the BlueVPN+ app on client, click the BT host name or the USB device name in the list
[ First time you open the connection, you need to confirm the security alert for VPN and USB interfaces (x2)]
3. While BlueVPN+ is connected you can open a browser and navigate the internet through the bluetooth tethering or directly with USB modem
NOTE - there are applications that cannot retrieve network data from the VPN connection due to an Android bug (http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=33666), please refer to the following list:

I used to use this with my razr v3xx. Last update broke that. Would be a good app if this was fixed. I cannot update this device past 4.2.1. Hisense does not support their products. The app was working fine, nothing changed on my end. Then the app was updated, and broke functionality. Been trying to get a previous version from the developer. No luck so far.

Works great with my Nexus 7 running Android 4.2 and Nokia Symbian phone over bluetooth. Interface is a little clunky, but does the job. Frustrating that Android doesn't support using the DUN of paired devices, but this is a great workaround.

This app was very useful until kitkat killed it for me. Now with lollipop it works again, allowing me to easily get my nexus 7 2012 wifi tab to use mobile internetness on my vintage Nokia N78. yippie!

This app lets me tether my HP Slate 8 Pro tablet through my Nokia N9 phone over Bluetooth. Android apps that worked for me over this sort of connection include Firefox, Terminal IDE (for ssh), PagerDuty, and the stock Email client. Unfortunately, HipChat and corporate mail (Exchange) do not see the connection, so while that's disappointing, it's not BlueVPN's fault. I'll take what I can get, and work around what I can't. This app is well worth the asking price if you need this sort of functionality.

Having purchased an android tablet, I wrongly assumed that it would pick up the WiFi signal from my Nokia N8's app, like my laptop can. Then I found this app, it is fantastic! Initially I was experiencing problems getting an internet connection from my phone, but that was soon rectified by contacting the customer support e-mail address, my app now connects to my phone perfectly. I can't rate this app highly enough, and the customer support is simply first rate! Thanks!

Before updating to Kitkat it was working with my Nokia 808 just for browsing but not with the e-mail app or booking app ... etc. Now... after the upgrade, it is not working at all. I tried an old 3G modem which didn't work as well.

I had an old USB 3g modem laying around collecting dust. I bought an OTG cable and tried to connect the modem to my nexus 7. Didn't work. After some Google searching, everybody said you MUST root your nexus to get a connection. Then I found Bluevpn+. I rarely pay for an app, but adding mobile internet to my Wi-Fi only tablet would be a huge benefit. At first I couldn't make the app work, so I contacted Mirko, the developer. He was very helpful and quick to respond. He offered to refund if we couldn't get it working. The issue was the setup of a proprietary modem I am using in Russia. He got it working and I am happy. Now I can browse the web and do email wherever I go out where there is no Wi-Fi. It works for me on a nexus 7 tablet with OTG cable and a ZTE MF112 USB 3g modem from MTS Telecom in Russia. I am using it in Russia. I am not able to download apps from Google play through this connection, and not able to use the Speedtest app with this connection. It's still worth 5 stars to me!

This works with my Huawei E220 USB 3g modem and Nexus 7. Can we get an option to never turn on BT? Its just a waste of battery for me as I never use any of the BT functions.

If you want to have internet connection with your usb 3g modem without rooting , then this is the app. Use Nexus 7 wifi with my usb 3g modem and work like a charm, no need to root your device.

I have an old nokia C7-00 with unlimited internet and a LG GTab 8.3 v500 w/o sim. I have been using the nokia as a mobile hotspot when travelling for all my devices, except for the android ones, which do not suport JoikuSpot ad-hoc wifi connection. This program allows me to use the Nokia as a modem and tether via USB the internet. Works like a charm. Tested it with the GPad running Android 4.4.2 and with Nexus5 on 6.0.1. Excellent!
