Mount /system RO/RW [ROOT] for Android
You sir deserve a medal! Im using a Nexus 7 (2013) and it actually works, now I can creat file in/system without getting errors, thank you.
Don't know why people keep rating this 1*. This app saved me! Thanks a lot
"Your system is now mounted RW" message is displayed but is actually untrue, as reported by many other apps.
All I wanted was to add a ringtone, and I don't know about everyone else, but it did work for me.
Didn't work note 4 6.0.1, gave it 3 stars because I know this may work on other devices.
Tried everything but failed ..... and then boom! You help..
Doesn't work. Claims I don't have root or a compatible device. Nexus 6 with Nougat 7.1.1.
Does not work on Sony Xperia Z1C on 5.1.1 rooted Android
Thanks, it saved my time.
does not work oneplus 1
Does not Work with Android 4.4.2
Saves you the terminal. Thanks
Did the job!
Works well
Does not work in any way
Not working
It works
Works perfectly
Good
Weirdly enough though it can set the system as RO. Not as RW.
I'm rooted and on BrokenOS, but NOTHING can change /system on this phone. This app got my hopes up, but the toast message should reflect whether or not the app WORKED, not just say "/system is now R/W" regardless of the outcome. I'm not mad about it not working, but a false positive like that is pretty weak.
Sometimes cant believed if its working o not..just try this n success without doubt
Thanks, it saved my time.
Didn't work
Did absolutely nothing
After rooting my Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300, I found out that a "root file manager" was required to access the system files where bloatware apps reside. So I downloaded ES File manager, but my ROM would not allow root access. Dumped that and downloaded Root File Manager. ROM allowed root access, but this version NO LONGER INCLUDES the ability to mount this files as -RW. I could not move any files or rename them. Finally, after spending far too much exasperating time on Android forums where no one mentions the above, I found out that my Root File Manager did not have the Mount /RO /RW feature in the Root File Manager used in 2011 on the forums. There are LOTS of posting about how files cannot be managed even after the ROM permission are granted. It seems not too many people realise that this mounting process is essential since the default is read only. A kind soul on one of the forums posted about this essential app which is needed to work with the files. I downloaded it and finally, finally, finally, after hours and hours of time spent trying to get this to work, I managed to get the youtube.apk renamed and the modified youtube.apk (listen with closed screen) installed!!!
could one of the developers of this app contact me directly? I have an abandoned app that disables the read and write protection on any HTC One phone, it's worked for me with my m7 and my m9. This may be useful to you so if you want to contact me via hangout or something, then by all means.
I updated cm12.1 and the system was read only even with root so I couldn't use lucky patcher (it places files in the system) but once I used this app it cleared the whole issue :) thanks !!
It doesn't work on my M9 rom ARHD. The system stays r/o even after mounting it in r/w via your app. I tried for a bootanimation... I had to choose an animation flashable and did it through the recovery instead :/
PLEASE MAKE THIS APP COMPATIBLE WITH MY DEVICE: COLORS-X16
Doesn't work on the Htc M9
Just a note..that it didn't work for rooted VM HTC Desire 626s. It's an HTC thing. We can achieve root but can't edit the system files or debloat the HTC junk out! Thanks for the tip about editing in ADB!
I tried this in the terminal-> mount -o rw,remount,rw /system But then I get the message that permission is denied. I then tried your app, it says that my system is now mounted RW, but doesn't work. That's probably because we both are doing the same thing. So how do I tackle that permission denied problem. I'm running CM13.0 by sultanxda (A0001)
Even with root access & busybox pro installed & rebooting, sent from htc one e8
not work on vivo y27
Weirdly enough though it can set the system as RO. Not as RW.
Not working in my lenovo k3 note

THANK YOU FOR THIS. I was having issues installing xposed because it couldn't mount the system to r/w, I spent 4 hours looking for a solution that worked until I found this app.
