El actual Comando Sur, nació el 4 de diciembre de 1972. Fue fundada por un grupo de muchachos hinchas liderados por Manuel Feijoo Silva. Inicialmente se llamó "Barra Aliancista". Conservó este nombre de manera oficial hasta que a finales de los setentas el periodismo y la hinchada la rebautizaron como "Barra Sur", por su ubicación en los estadios. Comando Sur se creó en octubre de 1986 como un grupo radical de muchachos de la misma barra que se encargaría de encarar periodistas, que criticaran sin fundamento a Alianza Lima, y a dirigentes y jugadores que no se dieran íntegros por la Blanquiazul.

La forma radical de sus acciones y postulados (Nuevas canciones, robo de banderas rivales, peleas, etc.) hizo que los miembros más jóvenes se identificaran con este grupo. Por este motivo el nombre trascendió y fue adoptado por la Barra y por toda la hinchada Aliancista en el país. Actualmente el nombre oficial es: COMANDO SUR, la FIEL y LEAL # 12.
