Used this app before and was able to search for University of Toronto. But, when I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it for the second time, I wasn't able to find my school's name... The app itself was great, didn't have to pay for any and constantly updates me on latest postings, grades, and assignments. That itself, I will give 4 stars. So basically, I had the convenience of checking my work on a regular basis, to having to log in every time on the browser to check, all because I can't find a school. It didn't make any sense because a lot of my classmates said they searched for it school's name and found it. This is the reason why I'm giving this app an overall of 2 stars.

I had no problems with this app until it forced me to log back into my school account. It keeps loading but it does not ever log me back in. I reinstalled the app over a dozen times after that but now it can't even find my school. Bottom line, every step of the way, I can never get past an ever continous loading arrow.... please fix this issue

The point of the app is to provide convenience, but it's easier and more time efficient to use a mobile web browser for BlackBoard. Certain areas of the site are inaccessible on the app, it doesn't remember credentials and makes you type in your info every time you log on, and the widget just flat out doesn't work. I really wish they'd improve this app, it could be ever so useful. Luckily, I was never asked to pay for it, or I'd be piiiiissed.

80% of the time it doesn't let me log in and kicks me back to the screen where I select my school. I'm sure my password is correct. I also deleted it and re-downloaded it and now it says my school (UMKC) is not offered and the guy next to me in class is logged in. Please fix. (I have a Galaxy Note 3)

The website is more convenient to use compared to this app (which should not be the case! The whole point of an app is its more convenient than using the website!) Its fairly difficult to download/save documents/pdf's/lessons/assignments in any form. Chrome is easier to use in this case. Its also annoying to navigate, using a browser is easier here too. Spend some more time on this!

Unlike the other reviews. The app works for me. I wonder if these are school related and not the app. I know that my bb functions differently than colleagues that attend different school. My issues are: notifications do not open to area in app. You land on the main page of the courses. The discussion post writing area could improve and I would like to be able to reorder the courses. Clear notifications if I checked on browser.

This app used to be great. But after these recent updates, things have sucked. I don't recieve any notifications although I have them all check marked in the settings. Also the little number next to the course title won't go away even after I click on the "new content" that has been posted. Fix that please

Sorry, I have gotten by perfectly fine without this app, I am not paying for an unnecessary subscription, especially when I can easily log into my BB account via my phones web browser. I pay more than enough for tuition and some of that goes to BlackBoard. Some nerve. Blackboard doesn't even deserve one star, but you have to give something! Ridiculous....

I love the app. Works great for me! I go to SNHU and I didn't pay a penny to use bb... In fact, you guys all know it's your SCHOOL that determines if you pay or not right? Your school contracts w/blackboard... The app itself IS free *IF* your school pays for it... I will agree however that the Notifications are finicky, works sometimes, and not other times. Fix this issue and I'd give it 5 stars!

This app is useful but it rarely works as it should. I have the notifications set up so I can be alerted to new content or scores that are added but I rarely ever get them. Then there's the issue of when they appear. Once I open them, it still continues to show the notification on the screen like I've never opened it/ viewed it before. So it's hard to tell what's new, and what's something I've already viewed. Most recently is trying to sign in. Apparently there's a data issue but nothing is wrong with my WiFi or my reception- it's the app. I don't see why schools continue to use this glitchy thing.

At first it was cool, since I use it primarily to check assignments and see what's due. Lately however, it won't open, giving me some error. Not only that but I can't do the tests. Says not compatible for mobile. This upsets me because I use Dolphin

It's colorful and simple. A perfect IOS clone. However, loading times are way too long regardless of Internet speed. (using Google Fiber). But the biggest issue and the reason I'm Uninstalling is because it doesn't remember your username and password. It is much easier and quicker to check blackboard via your Internet browser app that remembers your information and allows you to log in to check your grade quickly.

It is a good app because I can easily access it on the go without having to log into my schools website, but for some reason whenever I open blackboard I am continually given a notification that the news and weather app is not working. While I am trying to get info for my next class I am constantly having to dismiss the message about my other app not working. I only get this message while using the blackboard app.

So it is a useful application if it works. And that is a big IF. Sometimes there are no problems for some time but for example when I change my password I suddenly can't log in (yes of course using the right password). Every time I try to log in I am send to the screen where I have to choose my school, I do that and then the login screen appears again, and like that I can just go on forever.

This app needs some minor updates on it's UI. When I click on notification, it just loads. I am unable to modify notifications on this app. I would like to start implementing this feature asap. At times, the apps automatically logs me out as well. This force log out should be resolved as well. I have to enter all my information again.

It's always something with the logon. It won't find the school, or it will keep loading or it'll loop into the same 2 screens all the time. It gets on my FREAKIN' NERVES! Ugh I like having the convenience but I feel I need to punch this app on the throat before and after I try to access. FIX IT!

I just started online classes and thanks to this app, I can use my phone like a laptop. I haven't had any of the issues mentioned in these reviews. If you can make the content more customizable and fix the the threads on the blogs so they don't go back to top after you read each one, I'll give 5 stars.

The ease of navigating Blackboard right at your fingertips. The app will keep you logged in and is much more user friendly than the desktop website. Notifications are easier to read and the your classes and class content are organized neatly and visually appealing. There are a few bug issues I hope the developers will fix in the near future. I will be waiting to see if they acknowledge those that are mentioned by their users.

My institution gives me access to Blackboard Mobile for free so I've tried to use this for years off an on and it just doesn't work. When it will sign in it is great but 90% of the time it never loads and you just end up looking at the swirl for a few minutes. I have an Ipad at nd it is the same on it too, I don't know why they won't address these issues. If they ever work on it and get it to work it will be great but seeing I've been trying it for almost 2 years I don't think that's going to happen.

The first few weeks after download, it worked beautifully. Suddenly, it stopped letting me log in. My college was saved but every time I entered my information it would just send me back to college list. NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP

My institute used this. It is very convenient whenever i forgot to carry my notes into class or i could check my assignments immediately without switching on my computer. While I'm enjoying these , i found it auto log out sometimes. It took me another little while to log in. Please fix this

This app was updated recently. Now I can no longer view course documents on my Android phone by simply clicking them. Saving to Google Drive is an option but drive can not open these course files. I need to send to my email, download from email, then open. I used to be able to open easily from Blackboard.

There's no advantage of having the app compared to logging on directly to the website. The app does notify you when a new message has been sent or changes to course documents but it still doesn't indicate *which* document was updated. I will reinstall it if an future update rectifies this.

Always takes forever to load and sometimes never fully loads. Tried to uninstall and reinstall and the app claims my school server is unavailable which is false because I can log on from a desktop. The app needs major improvement. When it works its great but it doesn't work most of the time.

Used to work perfectly fine, 4/5 stars. This semester though it started displaying incorrect folders and links within my subject directories, and now it won't let me login at all. Keeps directing me back to the "schools" page after each attempt.

This app used to work perfectly. Now everytime I log in it brings me to the UMass Amherst homepage. I go to UMass Boston, and I don't see anywhere to bring me to the correct place. And anytime I hit the back button it brings me back all the way to the login screen. I paid good money for this app what happened?

I use this app a lot but half the time it doesn't work for me. It will log me out of my school randomly and then won't let me sign back in (just keeps telling me to pick my school after I put my ID and password). It also doesn't have one section for all of your classes' grades like the browser version, which is unfortunate.

I use multiple devices for school, so accessing all my class docs through this app is convenient. However, some parts of the user experience feel incomplete. Pressing the back button on my Note4, for instance, does not scroll backwards through the previously visited pages in the app, but sends me all the way back to the opening screen to select an institution again. Some documents just won't open on my mobile phone. A reply and improvement to those issues will warrant an updated review.

Across three different Android devices that I've had over the past few years, I have had the same issue with this app: the endless loading screen when it first starts up. The app itself is fantastic and is very well designed, but I dread ever using it because I know that I will have to wait a few minutes for it to even start up. I am surprised this issue has not yet been addressed over the last several years. It goes to show that the developers care very little about fixing bugs and efficiency.

If i forget to log out i cant get back on my schools page and sign in. It just says error. To use the app again i have to uninstall it then reinstall it and keep doing that if i want to keep using it... which i do its very helpful for school. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!!

This app used to be a very efficient way to stay updated while on the go, but now the app functions poorly. It does not allow you to use the free version because it continually kicks you out of blackboard to buy the extended version. It is extremely disappointing, since this app has great potential, but is losing its credibility as a useful blackboard tool. Strongly advise to not download the app.

Shelton state community college requires it based on instructors decision. It's nice to look at and I like the personal touch added from the last update but it still needs a lot of work. It's slow to load and update. I wish we could add notes onto our home screen or just had a place for notes at all.

All of a sudden, Blackboard has a picture of me that i never gave permission for it to use. Albeit only visible on this app, for some reason not on the actual website, the photo is still of a 13 year old me and is unprofessional. I have no option to remove it, just like i did not have an option to add it onto this app. On the actual website, it shows i have no profile picture.. so why do i have a 5 year old picture of myself on here without explicity adding it?

I can log in to blackboard on my computer but yet I can't do anything on the phone it keeps saying my password or user name is wrong and I have already changed it on the computer and it won't let me change it on the phone totally sucks! Change!

Maybe it's not as good as the desktop version of BB, but for a mobile app that (for my university anyway) allows me to check grades, content, and receive notifications concerning class updates, this is extremely useful. Definitely recommendable.

This app does basically nothing that you can't do by using BB through a browser. Notifications absolutely don't work. You have to sign in every time you use it, that is if it's working that day. Otherwise, it's exactly like using the browser version, except with more errors! Don't waste your money, or time on this scam! Nexus 4 user

You are allowed to download the app for free but as soon as you sign in with your school it wants you to pay 1.99. Then when you go to charge your Google account it ups the price to 2.11. Be honest people. If I had know out right I may have sprung for it.

App won't open, just gives me a network error. Even though I'm connected to the internet, tried both on WiFi and cellular data.

Only logs in about half the time and the widget has never worked for me at all. "Mark as Read" works only temporarily at best, and reading discussions is infuriating because every time you go "back" it refreshes and sends you to the top of the page, no matter how far down you'd been reading. Text is so tiny (and pale gray on white) that I can barely read it on my tablet, and cannot read it at all on my phone, yet there is no way to tell it to enlarge text or provide better contrast.

Need to improve log in bugs, editing and grading capabilities. It keeps looping me into log in after providing my credentials.
