Phone performance is getting down due to more consumption of Ram in idle conditions, if we run any gaming or any other app the phone is getting hanged up (it means we have to use only default apps for better performance make the apps lite and effective which reduced using more ram.

I love the level of control DTEK gives to improve and monitor your security and privacy level with each app. It monitors your device in real-time if someone or an app is trying to make changes to your phone. On top of these benefits I like that I can go back and make changes to the permission setting as I need because BlackBerry in their wisdom keeps access to all apps to your private information at a minimum. In my opinion it is the best security feature for smart android phones available. The main control display shows everything you need to know regard the security level of your phone at a glance. Keep up the good work BlackBerry.

Q70%
by Q####:

Really nice with this overview. But a few improvements could make it better. The test at launch should run automatically and notify if the security rating is decreased from last display. It should also check if the latest security patches offered by BB are installed - especially needed on branded devices, so we know what the carrier is late in delivering! So we could put pressure on the carrier! It is still quite a far way from easy and intuitive to manage security and notifications.

Since the most recent update I constantly get notifications that Contacts by Blackberry has accessed my location, eventhough I disabled location access for said app.

I've used multiple android phones and iPhone my personal experience on iPhone remains as the best until I decided to get blackberry PRIV ,well it's a great experience being able to monitorize the security of my device ,thank you BlackBerry

1) OLA app closed, disabled location, disabled location permission, but get alerts of ola accessing location at 4-5 mins interval.

Don't trust. Remote.management.execution

C70%

Working ok but the encryption is not good, blocking every app which needs to 'observe action'

Q70%
by Q####:

What good are the notifications if this app doesn't allow you to fix anything. Says my phone is compromised but doesn't tell me which app or give me the option to fix anything. A real security App would tell you where the issue is. Today, I received a bunch of false positives. It has been happening since the last security update.

Q70%
by Q####:

Lots of hype not much substance. Thought it would give me extra control or at least oversight of what apps were doing like sending and receiving data from while closed or minimized it just monitors basic permissions and has a fancy gauge graphic expected more from BB

Q70%
by Q####:

The notification sounds and vibration cannot be switched off no more clubbing of notifications.. Very disappointing update. Also Samsung and Xiomi has similar app but with more features..

DTEK proudly announces to me that in running an invalid operating system and other issues after performing a security wipe of my PRIV. Funny thing is there were no security issues before I wiped my phone using Blackberry 's own utility for doing so. Plus no way to reset DTEK to have it properly read my system. Very comforting.

Everything seemed to be working fine, but after a recent failed update on my DTEK50 - my rating is poor, and it says I'm not using a BlackBerry device and that I'm running a version of Android not designed for my BlackBerry... But, I don't upgrade anything outside of the monthly BB updates and I've only installed 4 (trustworthy) apps on my phone.

P70%

This app doesn't serve a purpose. It is basic bloatware, and somehow it was supposed to be a selling point when the PRIV debuted for BlackBerry. It's rubbish; uninstalling.

Q70%

Tells me a third party app is making changes to my operating system but doesn't tell me which one so I can fix it

DTEK showing my OS is compromised on my KEYone. How is this even possible?

I really dig the app on my KEYone. The only problem is its UI is too slow when settings permissions/notifications settings. Also I think you can better it and make it easier for normal non-geekish people. Also, I'm using Waze (GPS app) and even when its closed it asks for locations. I would love it if DTEK would let me disable "location" permission for Waze UNLESS it is currently running on the UI (I mean only if I'm currently using it).

Q70%
by Q####:

This is a simple, yet incredible App. Everybody should have this on their phone regardless of whether or not you're concerned about security. Helps you easily secure your device settings and gives you a securing rating. It also allows you to see which apps use your device in the background and what for. From there you can deny permissions specifically. It was scary to see how many times instagram and snapchat tracked my location without any need to do so. Quickly denied their location permissions. In an age when nobody knows what companies are truly doing with your data, this App is a tool in the fight for privacy.

Q70%
by Q####:

Does not work on BlackBerry PRIV. Unable to set permissions. Workaround for overlay as described in BlackBerry bulletin doesn't work for any blackberry aps (dtek, hub+services, calendar, contacts). I've been forced to use competitor apps as I am able to turn off overlay for these apps to set permissions. How is that fundamental blackberry apps don't work on a blackberry but all other apps work fine? Wow!

Q70%
by Q####:

With the latest update it vibrates for notification. And there is no option to turn off the vibrations. It is kind of irritating when it vibrates for every event where an app access your phone, data, which is quite frequent. The only way was to turn off all the notifications, which kind of defeats the purpose of this application. This was not so the previous versions. Do check for fix for this in the next update.

Q70%
by Q####:

Reactive and remove. Is there a way to deactivate and completely remove this from my phone. It is utterly useless and offers nothing value. If anything it is likely interfering with legitimate apps like Sales Force and preventing them from working properly.

Q70%
by Q####:

Absolutely useless! DTEK is a passive reporting tool that doesn't provide the user with any privacy and security controls over and above bog stock Android. If BlackBerry were truly serious about privacy and security, DTEK would offer similar functionality to that found in Privacy Guard on Lineage/CyanogenOS. We should be allowed the freedom to uninstall such useless bloatware.

Q70%
by Q####:

This update sucks. It took out the camera and Video tracking/notifications off :( if this happened to you, too, I recommend going back to the Google play store and press "uninstall" the app. When you do that, it goes back to the first version with all notifications, including camera and Video. I just did it, and going to keep the version until the next update, hopefully it be fixed by then.

E70%
by E####:

If you are the lowest common denominator AND you've messed with your phone permissions or don't know how to set a password (don't use your fingerprint. they're trivial to bypass) then this app is probably aimed at you. If you understand the settings available in Android and understand why leaving your phone wide open is bad, this is of no value. Sadly it cannot be disabled, earning it one star. (If I could at least disable it, I could give 3. If I could uninstall, I wouldn't even bother leaving a review.)
