Biophilia for Android
It's just the best app i ever used, until biophilia i was thinking apps were necessary evil. This is a creative app, you can learn how to play ten smart instruments that were invented for this project, engaging a holistic message on the cross-section of sustainability/emotional health and new ways of thinking electronic music. I play techno on "moon" and "solstice" mostly. Beautifully executed. If you cherish any subtlety around yourself try this.
I don't want to leave a bad review because this looks great from the screenshots, but it doesn't seem to be working for me. Unlike the screenshot, none of the song titles are showing up in the mess of white lines, nor the text that says I can swipe to turn it. When I do swipe, it turns very staggerdly, although the overall app runs smooth. I'm not sure what the music note is supposed to do but clicking it just makes everything disappear. I did manage to do something by tapping furiously and it zoomed in on a certain area and started playing music, but there must have been a start button that I couldn't see?
Absolutely fell in love with this app. Been influenced by electronic music all my life & a massive fan of bjork ever since i set my eyes on her! There is something magical & mystical about her & the music she creates is light years ahead of anyone else's. Its Like she understands nature through sound beyond anyone's imagination! Thankyou so much bjork & everyone in the making of this amazing app & the google team!;-D
But the UI needs work. It can be hinky on an 8 inch Nvidia shield; it must be intolerable on a 4.5 inch budget phone. The interactives could benefit from brief tutorial treatments to increase accessibility.
I had high hopes, but the audio is unlistenable. Audio glitches on Nexus 5, can't even install on Nexus 7. Concept is so promising, but no effort has been made to deliver on it. I paid the price of a full album and I don't even get MP3s... 2 stars because David Attenborough.
5 stars ! excellent !! music, technology, nature. this is a great epic screaming masterpiece app by the icelandic nordic pop warrior musician goddess of sparkle björk, she's a musical scientist pure music/sound, one of the greatest singers of our time, a volcal genius. highly recommended app to learn musical scales. [headphones recommended] fertile , ! ... warmth .
The app looks and works beautiful. But the sound is very low quality, imho probably due to it not being optimized for the Mali GPU inside my tablet. Friendly and fast helpdesk, although they did tell me they havent planned any updates for this app.
having little problems with adjusting some games options like thunderbolt's draw line and fade time and the drawing itself, and also the touchscreen is quite rough at times making it hard to enjoy the app 100%, but other than that it's an amazing app from an amazing artist and i am very pleased
This is a world first. Bjork puts her interactive album up on app stores for free with no ads. The instruments were fun to play with and each app was unique in it's 'gameplay'. Absolutely remarkable.
Not compatible with an obscure phone like LG G4? Really?
I love that I can interact with each song, and it has amazing artistic graphics. Björk's album app is highly creative! I love this app, and Bjork's music.
Immediately crashes in Marshmallow
Extremely hard to describe it but it is just stunningly beautiful.
The price was right -Free.
Just try it ull get immersed in it. It is beautiful.

I love the overall concept of this app however I am having trouble particularly with Hollow (its apparently "comping soon" despite being out for 5 years) and Crystalline (callibration issues every now and again, the game mostly works until i go through two openings; callibration seems to just stop and the crystal stays at the top of the screen). If these issues are fixed then this will be a 5 star app! Brilliant way to learn and teach the different elements of music and nature!! I love the Virus and Thunderbolt apps :)
Solestice doesn't work on my app :(. When u tap it it takes me to another place
Always gets 5stars from me as im a long time fan from the sugarcube days ! And this app is incredible both for the music and ways of interaction
It is not even a user friendly way to make noise, let alone music.
I love it, but my 1 and a half year daughter loves it even more!
Great fun. I love the music and my chance to interact with Bjork. The graphics are stunning.
Best ever!
Just watched "When Bjork Met Attenborough" on Channel 4's 4OD service. I recall being disappointed that the app was only available on iDevices, so it was great to see it now on Android. As someone without any formal music training but a deep interest in making music, Bjork's approach has always been refreshing and this app is like an Aladdin's cave for me. So much to enjoy and explore, and LEARN. (Nexus 7)
Brilliant app, so much thought and effort was put into each of these songs. This app is an absolute must for getting the full experience of Biophilia!
*update* issues had been fixed in latest update. An imaginative app with a good soundtrack to interact with providing a unique experience.
The concept is remarkable, the "gameplay" is very diverse and involving. Unfortunately the sound quality is often significantly low: something about 64 kbps with a low bit depth. There are also some clicks and glitches during the transition between parts of soundscapes and sometimes during the rendering process. Overall when listening in headphones it becomes disappointing. I hope that the dev team will fix that. Note: launched on BlueStacks
Beautiful, just beautiful. One of the greatest apps I've ever seen. Thank you Björk and everyone who collaborated on this.
It's cool, should update and incorporate the music videos
The Crystalline app does NOT work well on here at ALL! It moves very slow, can't play the game, out of sync and the Solstice app has bugs too...it does not respond when u flick the orbits to play notes. This never happens on my IPad. I'm using an Ellipsis tablet from Verizon for this app. Please fix the bugs or I will have to insist on a refund for an app I can't use. I'll just stick to my iPad until someone decides to fix this.

Easily the most interactive album experience I've ever seen. Some of the areas like "thunderbolt" are just fantastic music creation spaces. Super impressed, and my 11 year old is enamored with it!

Creative, fun and beautiful.
This app is wonderful, in the true sense of the word.
Great music app
Works great on Nexus 4 and 7. My old Droid Bionic couldn't handle it, though, I guess. Love the music, love the visuals, love the app. Want more!

Other than minor glitches, this app is remarkable. I feel wrong calling it an app because it is more than that, it's art. The depth of the concept is incredible, like a breakthrough in media. Why haven't more people downloaded it yet?? I love Björk's music, and this app just goes to prove what a broad and incredible mind this beautiful woman has. Not to disclude the other people who've put much work into the creation of this app! You all did a very amazing thing.
