About Bleep

Bleep is a fun and easy instant messaging app that is completely private. No social networks.

With Bleep, you can chat via text, make free voice calls, or whisper. What do we mean by whisper? Chat history can be convenient, but some conversations should never be saved. Sending a whisper to a friend means your messages disappear after they are read. Whisper it, read it, and move on.

And, you don’t need an account with Bleep. Simply download the app, invite your friends and start chatting.

Most importantly, with Bleep, you can be yourself.

Features:
• Sign-up with email, mobile number or just go incognito
• Send and receive online and offline text and images
• Make and receive voice-calls over cellular data or WiFi to other Bleep users
• Import your address-book contacts
• Invite friends over email, SMS or share your public key
• Messages are sent fully encrypted and stored locally
• Easily delete your message history

Amazing!!!! It's the only chat app that respects and protects your right for privacy. Whisper mode is just wonderful!!!

I understand that bleep is an end to end messaging app but even if both communicating devices are logged in, the msg arn' t delivered on time. Seems u have stopped evolving the app. The key copy function is working fine. Just try to paste the key somewhere after long pressing it. It wont be giving copy confirmation.

by X####:

Pretty great, allows me to pass more sensitive information to my family members while on the go without worrying that it'll be intercepted or read by someone I don't want to have that information. The only issue is that the whisper messages are actually a lot *more* ephemeral than I'd like--I wish they lasted like, five minutes, instead of being cleared only some 15 seconds after receipt. That way when I'm doing something like sending information to my fiance to fill out some form that requires sensitive info, I don't have to keep sending it over and over so she can confirm she copied it down correctly. Otherwise, wonderful, and fills my niche need pretty much exactly.

Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Signal, and even an email account requires a phone number, an official identity, in this age of totalitarian state surveillance. BLEEP is THE SOLUTION. It's a big step towards the liberty of individuals in the age of empires. BUT THE PROBLEM IS IT'S NOT OPEN SOURCE APP.

Z70%
by Z####:

The app says to "Long-press on the key to copy it.", but long presses seem to be disabled within the app (works just fine in other apps), so it's impossible to send anyone my key... which makes Bleep pretty bleeping useless.

B70%
by B####:

Bleep is closed source, therefore it should be presumed it spies on you. I won't use Bleep, and don't recommend it to anybody. Only open source messengers can be trusted. Use Tox messenger, and its Antox Android app. They are open source, serverless, truly secure. There is no central server that will see and log your conversations. Do not use Bleep!

Keeps giving me a no connection error although I'm connected to the internet and everything else on my phone is working. I don't know why. Please fix this quickly.

I don´t use this app very much, but the data consumption is very high compared to other messaging apps

Good but always hanging the app

X70%

Wonderful

Its a bit slow to transceive at first. I guess it has to learn where you are. If it has all the security claimed, it's a welcome break from corporate personal data gathering.

Great app for privacy

X70%

Never got to try it because during on boarding, it network errored when loading my contacts. Other apps are network updating fine. So bleep is just currently unusable on my device. Look forward to this getting fixed.

When I try to import contacts I always get a network error.

But not reliable. There are other related messaging apps/software that does a better job than this.

In the settings there is a way to add your phone number or email address so friends can add you. This doesn't work for me at all. I press the "add" option on my phone and nothing happens. This would be perfectly fine if the field with my unique key would allow me to copy the text but it doesn't. Because of this, I can't connect with my friends. Very frustrating. PLEASE FIX! On a positive note, I like the potential. The one conversation I could have was excellent. Nexus 6P

Getting better over time. Would love to be able to close out of the app with the back button.

I just started using the app (Nexus 5) but can't see how to add friend via their blip key. Also couldn't see add button in keyboard. It would be good if this could be highlighted to be more prominent. Thanks :)

This is the only thing I've been able to find that has completely discrete messaging that No one will ever see, but it has a few bugs in that department as well, like messages being unreadable and coming in too late, as well as notifications not coming

Installed on Friday with a few friends, now here Monday and none of our account have gone online'. Can't message them because their all offline.

A70%

The only thing it needs is a way to share to it from the android share menu

Very good app five stars for wisps but there are some delays some times and need to be more cool

I wonder how this fares in the privacy dept...

Great idea. Poor implementation. Allows you to whisper (a disappearing message), but clicking the whisper notification usually results in just losing the whisper. Revising down to one star. Usually unreliable. Doesn't send or receive.

X70%
by X####:

Time to free up space and deinstall this farce of an app. Too many better alternatives that actually work, and have more features. Devs should stick to file sharing and leave messaging to those who know how to do it.

X70%
by X####:

Messages are not being received days later. Definitely needs work
