TechTools is a community for the working photo professional. Our integrated chat client and bulletin boards keep you in touch with others in the industry and informed with the latest technical knowledge. A few other features include the following:

Resources

The resources section contains the contact information of studios, rental houses and a few retail stores in New York City. These listings are not advertisements nor are they a complete listing, but they are the studios and resources used most by the pros. Use the phone, map or web icons next to each listing to quickly reach them.

Notes

Someone stole your Sharpie again and you need to jot down information––fast. Our Notes feature has you covered. It's simple and fast, which is what you need in those moments. NEW - We've added Dropbox synchronization! Now if you link to your Dropbox account, you can add, edit or delete notes from the Desktop or on any of your mobile devices. A great way to access your notes if your battery dies or you forget your phone or tablet. If you switch devices, your notes will also transfer seamlessly if you choose this option. If you have existing notes in the original system, we recommend moving them to the new Dropbox enabled notes––a quick copy and paste will do the trick.

Tools

We've all had to work on a rental computer or a photographer's personal computer and then realize it's missing software. Rather than go to each web site and fill out forms to download installers, just use our packages to quickly email yourself a direct link. Note: these are trial versions of software, so your time will be limited if you don't have a serial number. Forget a grey card? Well if you're shooting natural light, our digital grey card has you covered. There's also a focus chart in this section.

Community

We're building a private community of digital techs, assistants and photographers for technical discussion. Trying to remember a camera's custom function or trouble shooting Capture One Pro? Simply send us, or any other members, a chat message for a fast response. You can also post a question to a bulletin board to receive input from multiple people. Any technical questions related to photography, video and digital capture are welcome!
