Festival Mawazine

Créé à l’initiative de l’association Maroc Cultures, le Festival Mawazine Rythmes du Monde est un événement organisé chaque année au mois de mai à Rabat, au Maroc. Ce festival s’inscrit dans une démarche d’ouverture sur les cultures en offrant au public un voyage musical aux quatre coins de la planète.

Chaque année depuis treize ans, cette rencontre internationale, qui a vu le jour en 2001, a pour but de faire découvrir au Maroc les différentes cultures musicales du monde. Elle accueille tout aussi bien des artistes marocains que des stars de renommée internationale en passant par des styles de musique traditionnels ou urbains.

Le Festival Mawazine a acquis une notoriété solide sur le circuit des manifestations culturelles internationales. Pendant neuf jours, le Festival accueille plus de 1 500 artistes en provenance du monde entier. A la clé : plus de 125 spectacles répartis sur 7 sites. Signe de son succès grandissant, Mawazine a réuni 2 500 000 festivaliers et plus de 35 millions de téléspectateurs en 2013.

Parmi les célébrités étrangères y ayant participé, on peut citer George Benson, Whitney Houston, Jil Jilala, David Vendetta, Amr Diab, Nancy Ajram et Juanes en 2008, Warda Al Jazayria, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys et Kylie Minogue en 2009, Santana, BB King, Elton John, Abdelhadi belkhayat, Sting, Julio Iglesias, Don Bigg, Mika et Al Jarreau en 2010, Shakira, Lionel Richie, Sugababes, Quincy Jones, Nass El Ghiwane, Cat Stevens et Joe Cocker en 2011, ou encore Mariah Carey, Naima Samih, Scorpions, Lenny Kravitz, Jimmy Cliff, Wael Kfoury, LMFAO, Pitbull, Khaled et Evanescence en 2012, Rihanna, Jessie J, Mika, le groupe de rap français Sexion d'assaut et le DJ international David Guetta en 2013.En ce qui concerne l'édition 2014, les noms de quelques artistes qui se présenteront pour cette 13e édition ont été dévoilés, on trouve notamment Justin Timberlake, Stromae, Ricky Martin, le groupe de rap français IAM et le nouveau phénomène du R&B aux Etats-Unis Jason Derülo...

Created at the initiative of Morocco Cultures Association, the Mawazine World Rhythms Festival is an event held annually in May in Rabat, Morocco. This festival is part of a process of openness to cultures by offering the public a musical journey around the world.
 
Every year for the past thirteen years, this international meeting, which was created in 2001, aims to discover Morocco in the different musical cultures of the world. It hosts as well as Moroccan artists internationally renowned stars through styles or traditional urban music.

The Mawazine Festival has earned a solid reputation on the circuit of international cultural events. For nine days, the festival hosts over 1500 artists from around the world. At stake: more than 125 shows over 7 sites. Sign of its growing success, attended Mawazine festival 2,500,000 and more than 35 million viewers in 2013.
