קופת הצדקה של חב"ד ניו-דלהי

בית חב"ד דלהי הוא המקום בו פותח כל מטייל את מסעו בהודו, ממנו הוא גם שב הביתה בסיום המסע. על פי אומדנים רשמיים, כ-50,000 מטיילים פוקדים מידי שנה את העיר ההמונית. לפני כ-15 שנה הוקם לראשונה בעיר - בית חב"ד מתוך מסירות רבה ובתנאים קשים ועל-אנושיים של שליחי הרבי מלך המשיח שליט"א.

בית חב"ד דלהי פועל מתוך מהווה קרן אור בתוך האפילה הרוחנית, ואי של שפיות בים ההזנחה וההמולה, מקור מים חיים לאלפי תוהים וצמאים.

כיום בית חב"ד דלהי מהווה מוקד חיים לאלפי המטיילים הפוקדים את המקום, למאות אנשי עסקים מרחבי תבל השוהים בדלהי לרגל מסחרם ולקהילה היהודית המקומית.

בשנת תשס"ח (2008), לקח על עצמו הרב שמואל ואשתו הרבנית מירה הי"ד שארף לנהל את בית חב"ד.
הם התגוררו במקום עם ילדיהם הקטנים וניהלו את מעצמת חב"ד דלהי לתפארה מתוך מסירות של ממש.
בשנת תשע"ב (2012), משפחת שארף הגיעה לביקור בארץ לחידוש הוויזות. אז פקד אותם ואותנו אסון כבד! בתחילת מבצע 'עמוד ענן', בר"ח כסלו תשע"ג (15 בנובמבר 2012), נורתה רקטה לתוך דירתם שבקרית מלאכי, בני המשפחה נפגעו והרבנית מירה שארף נרצחה, הי"ד.
