Halal E-Numbers for Android
This app seems quite handy. However, 1500 plus additives?! Really!? Us, human beings definitely crazy and stupid enough to change every natural food into a chemical waste.
Should have explanation and the basis of there conclusion in terms of haram. For example an amino acid like cysteine is the same regardless of origin if its pure amino acid and should not be classified as haram in that case. Needs Fiqh.
Just downloaded this apps. Have not tried it yet....like the first impressions...user friendly, easy to use and to understand, details and description of products is most welcomed...4 ???? for this review. On the question of... if approved in EU and not US...applicable in EU only? My 2 cents view is that most of issues raised concerning items which is not stated in the Holy Qur'an and traditions of the Prophet PBUH in its origin....reason why consultations needed and decisions making in the Ijma' Ulama meeting. Simple example is pork meat is forbidden to be consumed but how about gelatin used in medicine or the pig by products.... There are hundred of thousands of Traditions of the Prophet PBUH...and after filtering done by Imam Bukhari, 16 thousand of confirmed True Hadiths if I'm not mistaken has been finalised and published in the Sahih Bukhari and the same too in the Sahih Muslim...correct me if I'm wrong. As other religions, Islam too has different schools and sect. Most Popular for the Sunni's will be Hambali,Hanafi,Maliki and Shafie.... Same goes to the Shi'ite too... Ulama meeting, conferences needed to discuss and conclude in any issue raised by the people as such on food status... Lastly, in the meaning of " Masbouh".. My apologies for not having a good command of English. An easier interpretation to be understood will be " Grey Area".. Meaning...just what the developer had stated... If the origin is from Pig..."Haram".. If from vegetables or non meat..."Masbouh" ( Can be. Consumed or useable) The choice is yours ... Brother's and Sister's... If you feel it is not usable... Don't use.. Simple as that.... Islam is actually A Simple Religion..Truly.. Many thanks to the developer for giving us the best apps on Halal Certification..there are others which is good but not as good as this apps. Thanks again and keep up the good work. May Allah Bless you all on work done And May Allah Bless Us all for trying to be a good and humble servant. Insyallah...
Esselamu Alejkum brother or sister,i wanted to know if all the codes are right or its still on update for more e codes? Allah bless you for informing us
Thank you for such a nice and easy to use app. However, would you please add the 'about us' section in the app? Also to add the origin of information (references) so that we may know the credibility of such sensitive information in the Muslim community.
In many products, many E-s are given only by name ,not by code nr. So this app, is only 50% useful. Make it searchable also by NAMES and I'll totally give it 5 stars
Excellent App to find out halal status of a product. Good work, keep it up. Would be great if there was a word search too.
Please provide feature to filter non halal codes for convenience. Thanks
I found a mistake... I think ...e 951 is aspartame it says it is halal in the app but alcohol is used in the making process
Jazakallah Kheir I advise everyone should have this. May Allah bless you with goodness. Alhamdulillah there are no ads. I really appreciate your help and contribution.
This app have been very helpful to me and my family.Thank you so much.May Allah repay your good work.Keep it up.Aamin
better to add multilingual function to help those in need to check the Halal food labels
Many helpful apps contain ads, but this one is ad-free. May Allah reward the makers of this app ☺
masallah aap ki app bhut achchi he hame bhut fayda huva NEXT URDU AAP AND HINDI AAP
It's really amazing and helpful for all Muslims community and really i appreciate developers 9f this app.. thanks
E575? The app says it is masbouh but many other resource says it is halal, what is the reason of the difference?
First of all thanks,Pls add identification with the barcode scan of the product
This is a very good tool. It could be improved greatly by being able to search by words and not just numbers as alot of packaging don't always use the numbers e.g. ethanol. Also a key to what the status is would be good e.g. I didn't know what Masbouh meant. JazakAllahu khair for your excellent work. MashAllah
Can you say something is Haram if it is only Haram in the Hanafi school? What about the other 3 major schools of law? Unless you have at least a majority then maybe you should highlight the issue on the same page rather than just say Haram and then rely on the user to select the item to find out more?
Description of E Codes loads up very quickly and provides in depth detail of the source. Even more amazing is the ability for the app to work offline. Very useful for Muslims and non Muslims alike since Vegetarians as well as Vegans might find the details useful.
Is a must feature to be had. This will remove any need for typing in codes. Add the description of Arabic terms like "masbooh" used in the app. Many people may not know what some of them mean other than halal haram.
Very handy indeed. May Allah bless those who thought about it and us who (probably) consumed Masbouh or Haram due to ignorance. Can you please give the corresponding IN codes? That way many products in India can also be verified. JazakAllah
Admin please tell me the meaning of approved in EU? Means in Europe we can eat that code? Other than this your app is handy. Thnx for that. And please make an option if someone want to search by name. I don't think it's too difficult. Btw thnx for this free and helpful app. Waiting for your reply regarding EU and US approved.
This is much needed for the Muslim community that are unsure of branded/packaged goods contain. Just an idea although might take a bit of work is a barcode scanner that is quick to show halal or Haram.
Benzyl alcohol is haram because "it contains alcohol"? For serious? As in THE WORD ALCOHOL? Chemicals are also identical to each other and it doesn't matter if it was extracted from pork or not. The Quran forbids only eating of pork flesh, which is understandably extended to gelatin, but when considering additives that have no trace of pork other than that it was extracted from a pig, it makes this whole app redundant and stupid
JazakAllah khair for providing this app to us and that too for free. Please include the filters also for mashbouh ,halal, unknown separately or in combination. Also "share external "option so that we can share it through WhatsApp,facebook, twitter etc.
Mash Allah Jazakallahu khairan May allah Give you Reward in this life and Here after. Ameen
You people have done very good job hopefully you will make like this other too application!this is first-time am using Android phone can we have system of sharing this application like we have in Windows & iPhone? If not you please
Who are the developers of this app? Even if you Google about them you find nothing! How can I verify the authenticity of the contents??
At last real Halal app.
In many products, many E-s are given only by name ,not by code nr. So this app, is only 50% useful. Make it searchable also by NAMES and I'll totally give it 5 stars
E471 and 472 may contain animal fat or over even porc and are indicated only as mashbouh ( any animal not slaughterd= Haram)
you made Muslims lives so easy with this app. Only if it had a share button.
Jazza Kalla Khairan to build such app. Progress in the unknown categories so we have the proper agenda. May Allah bless you & team..
I used to carry a paper with list of aditives, now I have it in my phone
Couldnt get if e471 can be pork originated then how is it approved in EU? #billionBees?
Nice & neat. I liked the search with just numbers, no need to enter the E. The design is nice, too.
Very easy get d status of every e-code no. Superb app. Thanks for the developers
Jazakallah khair for giving a good app to check the food level wrt to halal or haraam.

I got this app out of pure curiosity (I'm not Muslim, or religious in general) and it looks amazing! I can imagine how useful it must be, especially considering that it's harder to ensure food is Halal nowadays with loads of chemicals being added in. It also has good details on each E-number and whether it's US/EU approved. Great app!
