For those of you who are saying it says can't open file when you try to install it. You have to go to file manager search for the file and then install it. It will work perfectly!

Who and or how can an app download an auto update on a phone that doesn't support the software my Droid ultra is 4.4.4 kit kat not no lollipop!!!! Google / Motorola FIX THIS. ITS CRAP AND A BUNCH OF CRAP I HAVE MISSED LOTS OF GREAT PHOTOS... THANKS SO MUCH. And you only got the 1 star because I have too in order to type this crap.

I was so excited I finally found the app that will get my camera back to work. But it just wont open even if I followed the steps. I tried doing it for 5 times but the superuser permission just dont pop out to me. I think it's the reason why it still wont work. Please help meee! It just asked me if Im allowing this app to be installed in my device but the superuser permission didnt show. Tell me if it's okay. Im using GS6 :(

As others have said it's not a fix but rather a work around but it's got me using my camera now with out having to reboot my phone. The first camera app that you download simply opens the restart my camera app which restarts the camera driver then proceeds to camera. Restart your phone after you install the two apps because initially it did not work for me.

All of you giving 1 star reviews are retarded. If you're not capable of understanding that you need cyanogen ROM installed (which means your phone is rooted and your bootloader is unlocked) and that you need to download the app in the description and give it superuser permissions for this to work shouldn't be downloading apps like this in the first place. This app works perfectly fine if you know what you're doing.

That's the only thing that sucks about Cyanogen. Every thing else is perfect but unfortunately, the only way to get this phone's camera working again is to reflash my old stock ROM every time I want to take a picture. Tried your instructions in description but I'm always getting the webpage not available net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error on every browser I tried. Thanks anyway developers, I know you're doing your best. I'll try doing it on my stock browser on my old stock ROM and see if that helps. Thanks.

The restart camera app link doesn't work anymore. Found a solution for android 5.0 - installed Google Camera 2.7.008 (2130300-30) (arm) (android 4.4+) and deleted the old camera shortcut. Now I m using the app as default camera app. You can easily find the apk on apkmirror or anywhere else online.

At first it didn't. It did nothing. Twice out of desperation I tried it. Then I read the instructions... Felt like an idiot after that. App works perfectly for me after following the instructions. SGS3 i9300 CM11 M9. Thank you 7MG and thank you temasek! Update: Flashed CM12.1 (unofficial temasek for i9300) and this app no longer works for me.

Why does there need to be a work around CM11 has been out for a while. Everyone seems to have this issue yet it keeps being ignored. I can't use my banking mobile deposit because of it. I can use the Walmart scanning app in the store because of it. I am tempted to go back to a stock ROM.

If you read and follow the instructions this works as intended. For ages I've used Temasek's 'Restart Camera' app manually whenever I got a 'Cannot connect to camera' error. This app simply runs the Restart Camera app automatically every time you open the default camera app. However, I seem to be seeing more camera errors when using this app than when not. Worth a try, your mileage may vary.

At first it kept having the same issues but then I force stopped the actual camera app and erased cache and saved data. Then I ran the apk for the restart camera and then this app and it works fine. Thanks! SamGalxyS4 SGH M919

CM12. Munzee app constantly locks up my phone's camera. This app and it's helper app "restart camera" do absolutely nothing to fix my stuck camera. Uninstalling, useless

When I try to open the app it did not even open now how in the world am I going to mack my camera work if I can't even open the app you see what I did right here is personal help right here cause I don't know any off this stuff. If you have a tablet this app will not work

Worked instantly. I have been trying every solution. For those of you who said it didn't work try these steps: Reboot immediately after installing. Don't try to open the camera fix app (IT IS NOT FOR YOU TO OPEN) The app's purpose is to fix the camera once it's installed. After rebooting your phone go straight to your camera.

It's working after you carefully follow the step. I know there are lazy people keep blaming dev without even properly read the instructions. Come on, CM is full of bugs, if you care enough stop complaining without any efforts, at least do submit bugs report to help to make it better.

Does not work for me on a one plus one. Then I see some body says the phone must be rooted to work. If that is true, why not say that before you can download it from the play store.

Camera malfunction after CM 12.1 a tough nut to crack.

Original camera showing no image on startup black screen then shuts down. Followed instructions but step 4 never happened after instillation. Oneplus One cm12.0

Did everything step by step as instructed... Clicking the icons results in nothing... No step appears where permissions are asked for... Clicking the camera again, the error remains. What's going on???

I really hate camera she can fix it doesn't work it just downloading and you can't help it if you could not doing it and it's just a waste of time do not download it so I will go with what people say oh yeah I guess it's just ridiculous I really hate it don't download to waste of time believe me it lees to on a nexies7 Google tablet

I haven't experienced a crash on my default camera app lately, so I cannot say if yours is working correctly, but I have a question. I see this is a camera app, and not a shortcut to the main CM app. Does it have all the functions and is it being updated ?

It works fine!! Just follow step by step the instructions. I have made my camera crash using CM default camera app and then open this application and the camera started normally!! :)

I'm sure this app works for other android devices, and I've tried reading the directions but when I get to the part where it asks to allow the superuser permission all the time, it doesn't actually ask me. When I tap the icon it just shows a reminder that the restart camera app has been granted superuser permission, but it never actually opens my camera. I've clicked the restart camera app, the CM fix app, and the camera app itself. It may just be my tablet because it has plenty of problems with it.

installed twice as per instructions. but not working in s3 gt19300. except one thing, when i face cam crash i can use this camera without restart.

Android is awesome because of things like these. Not only can I customize my phone for efficiency even bugfixes such as this one are so easy to find and install. Thanks guys!

it works, but its still useless, it makes the whole UI laggy until rebooted, sure you got your camera working again, but what's it help when everything is frozen anyway? good idea but.. it messes up the phone, D6603 - CM12 3.15 nightly.

Using this on my Galaxy S3, it fails. It will still say could not connect to camera or Camera has stopped working.

It works, though I have to press it constantly for a couple of seconds until it responds which can be a little annoying, but still takes less time that rebooting.

Please make this app compatible with lollipop ROMs .... Worked well on CM 11 but fails to open the camera on CM 12 and resurrection remix

I was planning on having to re-flash the stock ROM on my GS3 because of the camera not starting after using the flash as a torch. This was an easy fix, thanks!

Used to work when I was on 4.4, I moved to lollipop 5.1 and it doesn't work anymore, just pressing on the icons has absolutely no effect, please fix :(
