Bike Hub Cycle Journey planner for Android
Can we have the old app back
Requires data plan to retrieve gps file via email. Unable to change default file path to link saved tracks on sim card and therefore not truly offline. Navigation voice is quiet and no volume option. Have yet to test offroad but think more road based? I have yet to find better but actively searching
There is no 'Directions' button on my Route Planner screen, which the instructions say there should be. It is therefore literally useless for me. I can see others have had a great experience and I'm not techy enough to know why it's not working on my phone, but impossible to plan a route, so will be uninstalled.
Trying to plan a circular route. Start and end is straightforward- move the map under a pin, but the 'via' points can only be added by searching.
Doesn't work on my Samsung phone. Map doesn't appear and then location to destination takes the place names yet doesn't plot a route
Map doesn't load, addresses are recognised but lost on entry. Would love to go back to the old version
Tried the app in London this weekend and I was always in front of the step by step directions. Would be told to turn left in 100 feet or so after I'd passed the junction! Also some problems with crashing and non appearance of maps. Maybe it's my phone but if these problems were sorted it would be a brilliant app. Much better than Google maps sending me into battle with Old Street Roundabout!
Just does not work. Won't let me add waypoints.
Doesn't display a map, unable to plot a route.Uninstalled. Latest version has solved none of the problems, does not work at all
Love this software on a PC but sadly this app is a total meltdown on my Samsung A3 and a near total meltdown on my Galaxy Tab. On my phone I get a black screen. On my tablet I get a map inside a red circle but with no buttons or functions.
Very useful for me. A godsend.
Counterintuitive and limited.
The dreaded red circle. Pixel C.
Hard to plan when red circle outline obscures the map and options
Shocking, would not even open properly.
What's with the map inside a red circle. App unusable for me
Why is the app surrounded by a red circle which obscures the menucontrol options? This makes it unusable for me.
Doesn't do anything on Acer netbook tablet so can't say if it's any good or not. White circle with read background means nothing.
Can't use it as the red circle covers all the controls. People have been pointing-out this problem for ages - why no fix?
Brilliant route choices, using quiet routes in London, with voice directions. Takes a little getting used to, but totally confident by the 3rd ride.
I am trying to import .gpx files which the app claims can be done, but when I open a file it doesn't give the option to select bikehub, which the instructions claim you should be able to do.
Great app, but only 4 stars because it returns the same result everything you use the circular route option. And a bug where you choose 10/20/40/60 mile and it produces a route 10miles more
Sorry, but is this some sort of a joke? All I get is a map within a red circle, no controls, no ability to plan a route. Am I missing something?
Hangs on opening on Samsung galaxy sIII with CM13 and now Lineage 14.1. Once or twice I got past this and was able to load external gpx files, to then have fairly wayward sat Nav performance which to be fair may be due to my location settings, but the hang on opening is too much of a problem for me to persevere with it. Using OSMAnd instead but will keep an eye on this for its leisure (circular) routing function
I commute in London and needed a good route finder. It found me a lovely route into work but then suggested a way back via the highest hill in North London even though there is not even any good reason for in and out routes to be different... Goes comoletley useless when being used for more than route/address. Maps go blank, adresses don't get recognised etc. Shame! Sadly need to go to another app.
Looks ok but something is strange about how you manually select start and end points. You tap the map to enter route setting mode, and you can move the map around, but as soon as you let go, it sets the current position as the start point! If you move the map and let go again, it sets that as the end point! This means it limits the route to whatever you can see on the screen at that time. A bit silly. So that needs fixing.
Useless
Buggy app can't use it. Frustrating
Can't use as screen obscured by red apart from central circle. Samsung galaxy tab s2 android 7.0
All i get is a port hole view of where i live cant do anything else did work once a long long time ago
Just freezes, it doesn't seem to have gps navigating.. Just a black line I assume you follow.. No voices, limited settings..can't download maps, or it's taking years in the background, then freezes the screen. Not sure how I can quickly set London to Oxford, get on the bike and go.. Going to delete it and will come back in a month to try again..
This is the best cycle route planner I've used for where I live in Edinburgh. I don't know why it's been marked down so much, there doesn't appear to be any bugs ???? on it now. All round it's a great app!
Im a nervous rider so i love the option of quiet routes. I would love it if it had voice directions so i can just listen to where i need to go. Its a great app though
Very positive improvements compared to the old version I used to have on my old phone. I like that you can save routes, replan them according to the ride type (e.g fast, quiet), see nearby bike shops.
The app is still work in progress but it works extremely well. The problem people have with the app I believe is due to impatience. It took a bit of playing around before I realised that some things take a while because it needs to download map data: it just seems broken until the penny drops. Perhaps an icon indicating the app is busy may help? I downloaded routes from Endomundo and I could follow the route easily. The app is superb because the cycle paths (and even tracks) are marked. The routes through Skipwith Common were clearly marked. The maps show clearly the cycle routes and you can differentiate between those and the non-cycling tracks. I hope they carry on with the application: it could well become the standard app in due course.
Love to give this app 5 but it's so useless that I can only give 1. Importing of gpx file adds many error points. Tried to plot a route and can't enter start our finish location. I could carry on forever...
It keeps asking to confirm various actions while you're actually riding. Means you have to keep stopping, or risk falling off. Re-routing really needs to be automatic.
Great routes. Use all over London and makes journeys stress free compared to normal routes, as much quieter, even in central London.
Tried this because it said it would work with gpx, but after 5 separate attempts I couldn't import the gpx file now matter what email account I used. I couldnt find the option to open it and my phone just repeated that there was no app available to open this file.

Much better than using google maps thanks to the greater configurability and route options.
