BigPond Movies for Android
Worst app ever. I have rented a movie and tried watch it on four different devices. Everytime it comes up with a different error message.
"Unable to watch in HD on Android" even when casting to my HD Chromecast. I'll be using my free credits then immediately deleting this sub-par service
No HD support for Android. Originally gave a 2 as the rating, this doesn't deserve any rating.
I have purchesed a movie and I cant even watch it. Errors and wont cast to my 2017 tv. Fix this
What a joke.... lets go backwards 10 years. Sd and stereo only via my android app and chromecast. Plus get charged to watch a substandard product. It is laughable.
Won't work with Chromecast. Everything else does. Very poor form
Now has chromecast support. Works a treat. It's great the developers considered user's feedback.
Another fail by telstra.
Can't use on rooted device
Streaming service not compatible with samsung 2011 smart tv due to firmware issues. Gives you diffetent login details instead. Backend account management not compatible with android phones... gives you login errors and redirect loops instead. App thinks multiple viewing attemots are really multiple devices on your account, and denies all streaming attempts on all movies for a full month after five failed attempts. Can't delete erronious devices from account. Buggiest app I've ever seen... how exactly did this thing ever make it through testing?
WARNING: Do not install. All movies are broadcast in STEREO only. Do not pay for this garbage, you will be dissappointed. Possibly the only service provider in the world that would have the audacity to do this and charge you $7 for the privilege.
I'm a big T customer and this works flawlessly on Google Chromecast to my Smart TV for renting movies and TV shows. Well done guys!!
Eureka
Terrible app. Started watching a movie, had to stop and go back. When I did it said HD not available on this device, even though I purchased SD and had already started watching. Tried another movie got about 30 minutes in and an error flashed on screen saying I wasnt authorised to watch. Tried emailing Bigpond - no reply. Tried using on another device and the movies have now expired. Dont waste your money folks.
Tells me I have more than 5 registered devices (I only own 1 device!!) Wouldn't let me watch a rented movie, so I bought the movie, but won't let me watch that either. Sent a message to the help desk and still haven't received a response. Absolutely frustrating and expensive!! Rented the same movie from Google Play Movies and watched it no problem. Would appreciate Telsfra reimbursing me for the hire and purchase of a movie I couldn't watch!!
Worst movie app ever since August 2016 update. Before I could watch any movie (rental or purchase). After update I initially noticed any rental disappeared from library at midnight on the day I rented it - not after the rental period expires. When I purchased a movie.... it was total waste of money. Still can't watch it because of playback error message. Contacted bigpond support - they transferred case to technical support and months later I still haven't heard back. Recently I rented free thanks Thursday rental and I get message about having more that 5 registered devices - I only have 1 device! I can't even view trailers anymore!!! With the prices charged, I would expect the app to work.
This app is the worst. Don't bother, just use google movies. It has not worked any of the three times I have tried to use it. I rented a movie that doesn't work, couldn't even get a phone number or email for support, spent 10 mins trying to find one ended up calling telstra, was on hold for 10-15 mins. They told me there was a fault with android and they could refund the movie but it wasn't showing up on their system and I would have to call back again the next day and wait on hold again to organise a refund. When I asked if there was a feedback system I was told I could be put through to complaints but there was a long wait time!
I just downloaded the app but as soon as i go to watch a movie it tells me i have 5 devices registered to it whoch i dont and i couldn't fix it at all i even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing
Where are the subtitles? Will stop me from using bigpond. Very few movies have subtitles and that's unacceptable, I've been used to watching movies with subtitles. Especially when the kids are sleeping.
Worst effing app experience ever. Paid twice, multiple errors of various kinds. Nothing works. Lost my money, went to bed frustrated and dissatisfied. A disgrace. Burn in hell.
Won't be renting from Bigpond again. Typical ... Should have known better from the start.
An android app that doesnt support chromecast what a bloody waste of time....telstra you need to sack the project manager who managed the development of this app ......I bet you spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on its development....and anyone that downloads it will uninstall it as soon as they realise that they cant cast it to their tv .....dumb telstra dumb.... i dont know anyone that has a hdmi cable that will hang off their android tablet or phone....quick sell your telstra shares now whilst you can idiots are running telstra....its confirmed i wont be buying movies from bigpond
Just vertical lines in my Lenovo tablet.
I can't pay for a movie with my credit card. It keeps taking me to make an account then the codes don't work. Tried 5 times.
Not supporting Chromecast at the end of 2016 and pretending to be a serious video rental service is a joke. $5.99 for a SD movie rental, and not being able to play it on my TV? I'm going back to Google Play movies, it's the same price or cheaper, and I can cast to my TV.
Got app to chromcast and there's no support for it. Who does that now days?
No casting??? Seriously? Waste of time.
Very frustrating and there is no fix. Spent hours tring to watch Grimsby with no luck. Update- still could not get Grimsby to sync but other movies seem ok. Telstra sent a voucher for cost of movie but considering the time spent trying to fix the issue it does not seem enough.
I rented a movie using my smart TV and paused half way through. When I tried to continue, I could only get 5 seconds at a time before buffering for 20 seconds! Tried to continue on another device (tablet) using this app, but it failed to acknowledge I had already paid for the movie and requied me to pay again!!!
I have both a new samsung s7 edge samsung smart tv and a new samsung galaxy tab and have spent hundreds on bigpond movies and never ever have i had one problem.. Update you phone software regularly is one solution if your having trouble........
Glad I only rented a movie, could not get it to play on my Samsung Galaxy Tab and had no response from the helpdesk within the rental period. They were very prompt sending through the receipt for rental though.
This upgrade has been a long time coming but well worth it. So much easier and thank god I can take this on the tablet for the kids now
Add says will work on android tablet. My galaxy tablet just shows colour vertical lines. Wouldnt bother
I have never come across an app that is so bad. If I paid for this programing I would be asking for my money back. Not only is it hard to find newer movies without having to Wade through old movies most of them watched but really who would do that who's idea was that to randomly mix up the movies???? That is if you can log in it takes up to 20 minutes just clicking login with it saying unrecognised what is that??? Then when you do finally get it to log you in and finally after so long searching for a movie that really your too tired by then to rent one, you finally pay and start to watch the movie only to find that you don't get a full screen just the preview box to watch the movie in and no amount of trying can change that. WELL BIGPOND MOVIES you have lost a customer there are better places out there that have better deals without all the hassle of trying to get a second grade app to work.
Tried to preview could not get one movie to load
Loving the new app, way better than the old one (and now works on phone too/
Im trying to play a movie from my Samsung smart phone but it comes up saying play back error
Expensive to rent, and app doesn't work on rooted devices
Great app!

You've stopped support for my tv even though it's a 2013 not 2011 and I can't even get a trailer to play over Chromecast. How am I going to get a whole movie to work? Typical Telstra.
