Note Trainer Lite Learn Piano for Android
I started using this last night with only minimal knowledge of treble clef and zero knowledge of bass clef; now I've almost got it completely down pat! The only bug I've encountered is that it sometimes will randomly shut down the app. No other problems though so far! Thanks for a great app.
Just started learning keyboard, and was struggling with the whole music reading... But now iv found this amazing app, Im sure this will speed up the process. I'm getting a new phone in a few days and will buy the full version. Great app guys, I love it!
This is by far THE best app availible for learning to read both bass and treble clef notes. I absolutely love this app! Look no further then this if you need to learn to read music and or where the notes are located on a keyboard! Awesome!
Identifying the notes on the treble or bass clef is fine but on keyboard there is range guys. .I don't recommend this app for musicians those want improve their sight reading or want to learn real piano or keyboard
I have always been lazy about memorizing notes as an alphabet, which is why I take longer than needed to read a score. So finally, after almost 20 years, I decided that I'd accept help, and tried all sight reading apps, and found this one to work well on all resolutions and have the best overall user interface.
I like it alot, but I've found that if you know the notes after a while it gets a bit monotonous, and to get high points you must invest a long time into one sitting. Could you add a way to change the difficulty?
Love it! Even bought the upgrade!
I am FRUSTRATED! But not because of this app. I am frustrated for all those years I have spent learning and relearning the notes. I have been involved with music on and off which presents the problem of polishing skills every single time one takes it up again. I have NEVER managed to be this good and I only spent a couple of hours with this app. It is simply amazing. They should teach it in schools. Thank you a million times good people... Ps. Buying it, just to feel warm and fuzzy supporting you people.
I don't know what extras the paid version could have, but it would be worth it to support these guys. Lite has literally everything I wanted. Teaches you three ways at once (ear, note, and piano scale position or whatever you'd call it), and the ads are not intrusive at all. I was completely music illiterate two days ago, now I can at least name them by sight.
I used to play the piano when I was younger but quit early because I didn't like to read the notes. This app changed that. Now I have no problem reading and playing, and it only took a couple days.
I have been using this for some time and have found that it has been helpful in identifying which notes in consistently not recognising within a few seconds. It's a forcing me to stop working things out and just know, which is a hard leap to make, but necessary if I want to actually read music and not just work it out.
Im currently learning piano and this really helps. The reason for my 4 star rating is because id like to costumize the note reading from C to G in treble and bass cleff and then move to higher or lower notes within the staff as i get better, and i cant seem to do that =/ otherwise great app
Takes a lot of patience. I see results in just two days. If you play for more than thirty min. You start to lose focus. I'm hooked though. I wish I could skip waves. Or have the option to play songs.
I got this to refresh the bass clef notes for piano. In just a few days I can hit most of them correctly as they whizz past. Thank you! The only improvement I can think of would be an option to turn landscape and increase the keyboard length so we have to change octaves when needed.
I love it. I use this for practice every day. I suggest an option to increase the speed or wave selector to continue the last level. I found the first wave boring. but u guys ear the 5 stars congrats.
Very simple yet effective method to learn how to read music. I am 60 years old and for some reason decided to learn how to play the piano. I was getting frustrated until I found this app.
I'm trying to learn the piano but find relating a note on a stave to the note on the keyboard difficult. This app lets you practice and practice again so, in my case at least, the quick and automatic relationship slowly starts to come. The only minor issue is it would be nice if it rotated to landscape on a tablet. Well done though, an excellent app.
I used to play cello and am rusty with my note reading. This helped me pick it back up quickly. It gets a 4 though, because I wish I could choose to show the notes on the piano when playing.
Excuse the pun but it did exactly what it says on the tin. Only gripe is it doesn't save your options from one session to another. Good little app though
Works great. No bugs or issues with the mechanics of the app. Like that you can turn the note help on and off to make it more challenging. Really like the format and how it tracks your history of which notes you struggle with.
Was going to make flash cards then I came across this app. Glad I did cuz it saved me time and is a better learning tool. The only improvement I would suggest is adding a couple higher and lower notes. Other than that, it's pretty much perfect.
.... that this wasn't available 60 years ago when I was first learning piano!! Although I can play decently, my sight reading skills have been abysmal. I cannot believe how quickly this little app is helping me correct this deficiency.
I really like the app but, as a beginner, I feel overwhelmed with the different notes immediately presented ro me in my first practice. It might be better if the game is compartmalized to practice fivr notes repeatedly until mastered. Then the next level will include 5 new notes plus the old notes.
This app is perfect for an intermediate and advanced piano player or a vocalist seeking to brush up on their sight reading skills. Prior knowledge of piano keys is necessary so you if don't know how to read the piano this won't help you. Download this app after learning how to read the piano. Then this can assist you in learning how to read piano notes fast
I'm one of those great guitar players who can't site read (just like the other 99% of guitarists). I'm trying this out and so far it is helping with note memorizing. I may have not searched the program enough to know if there is a guitar fretboard or not, but so far it is training me with piano notes. It is still cool because I play piano as well and am way rusty at sight reading.
Great tool that helps a bunch. I would recommend allowing it to see both clefs at once, as it can be confusing when switching between them.
Not good for singing as notes too high, be better concentrating on mid range notes.
Thanks a lot developers team.I am buddism and nobody teach me any music language.I love music and i make without understanding music note. Its really hard. Dude like me really need an app like this.Thank you.
This app has been a fun way for me to practice sight reading sheet music during those idle moments. I play piano, so it has been nice to select the notes using the piano keys. The fast pace of the game is fun and forces you to use more interval reading as the speed ramps up. The app provides stats on your accuracy for each of the notes which helped me understand which notes I was having the most difficulty recognizing. The game also has achievements which makes for compelling gameplay.
There is a training mode where you can click on the correct key at your own pace. There is also a play mode that requires you to select the correct piano keys as the notes move across the sheet music. The pace gets progressively faster. Possible improvements can include the ability to play both bass and treble at the same time instead of separately. Additionally, the play mode begins very slowly. Almost too slow. The ability to increase the starting speed or a set based on previous attempt. Great app!
Great app! I've been frustrated learning piano as I have been impeded by not connecting sheet notes to keys fast enough. This app is definitely helping to fix that! Worth the free version to at least start with.
By using this app, I understand the importance of practice. Probably you can extend the practice section by giving notes that also form a song. I think it will be more rewarding, since we can learn music sheet and a song simultaneously. I think the app should support auto-rotate too, since practicing the fingers is also useful.
The free version does not include sharps and flats, but that is fine because beginners like me need to learn the basics first. I agree with another reviewer that they should have a level option to show the bass and treble clef together, and possibly a notation level for writers. Most apps for general sheet music notation are very poor, but this app is more fun and dynamic for beginners learning to read sheet music for the piano. Thanks!
Basic drill on note names/piano keys. Includes both treble and bass clef. Starts slow and then increases in speed as long as you keep answering correctly. My only complaint is that it doesn't display previous high scores. Can't whine too much since it is free. :-)
Note trainer is a great app for beginners... Gets you quickly in to learning to read notes. Small simple quick and effective.. Truly lite... Keep it up
This is the first site reading app that worked for me. In practice mode it shows you the note with the name on the note so you can learn then in play mode you can see what you learned.
The only mode is to play an entire staff. You should instead be able choose which notes to practice - for example a beginner may only know middle C to middle G.
I have played piano by ear for years and am using this to help me get faster at reading music. The game gets faster the more you play it and it remembers the notes you need to work on more. I love this app!
Fantastic App.. This was exactly what all i was looking for.. I have tried several apps and found this to be one of the best notes trainer in the market... Lil guys. Very nice n simple design.. Very happy with ur work

I breve have taken the time to write a review, but this is the best app I have ever downloaded. I like to try all the editors picks etc and have wanted to play piano for so long. This app has me on my way.IT REALLY TEACHES HOW TO READ MUSIC NOTES. In a couple of hours I have almost learned ALL the notes by name and location on the piano (treble clef). Next I'll learn the bass notes. Thanks for making it free so we can all learn to play the magic music. I can't say enough.
