PlexFit for Pebble for Android
After 45 min being up, and I met my 1hr goal? I even met my 1hr goal at 1am while sleeping. I must be sleepwalking. Today, I wake up ( my watch was plugged in to be recharged) and it said that I already did 25148 steps. Something is very wrong. I checked Google's app and it is only set to detect activity from this app and it shows me as Super active for over a week now ( overt 10 hrs walks per day, and over 23h yesterday). My settings are set as was suggested.
Works well so far a little confused at how to install the "full app" maybe i have to wait till the 15 day trial period ends? Doent seem to have any other options
After upgrade to Android 5.01, Pebble has problem syncing with the phone app. The phone app also have problem syncing with Google Fit. Nonetheless, it's so much better than Misfit for Android. The best feature for me is the ability to turn off automatic sleep tracking. This allows me to activate and deactivate sleep tracking when I go to bed and when I wake up. I will make it my permanent Pebble watch face if it could detect bluetooth disconnection and give a vibration.
It works pretty well but it doesn't always synch properly. I also wish it would automatically synch to my pebble every hour or so. Add that and it gets 5 stars. Figured out that plexfit makes my screen go funky sometimes. Uninstalling because it happens way too often for my liking.
I tried this app in the past but it never worked. I thought to give it another try today. App kept saying sync failed. All the FAQ had to offer to help was "disconnect watch from phone then retry." Did that, still didn't work. Uninstalled the app and tried reinstalling. Now it just constantly pops up asking for access to my phone's pictures and information. Finally have it permission to shut it up, and then it just constantly crashes. Total waste of my time.
Also, sleep tracking never worked for me. I want to buy the full version for the Google fit integration but I won't do it as long as there are so many issues. In addition, above all else, it seems like the app is deprecated. It wasn't updated since 2015. Constantly force closes in the background. Instable, and will often stop tracking mid day without any notice
The app is in slow motion. I've never witnessed this in an app. I can seemingly get the app to work. It's just in slow motion. When I do something like the menu, I'll sit and wait for it to pull up after a while goes by. The menu even opens and closes in three slow frames.
Pros: Customizable idle alert. Sync with Google fit. No forced watch face when using the app. Cons: the idle alert message, doesnt disappear after a certain time nor does it disappear when I walk around again. I always have to click around on the watch to get back to my watch face. Even after playing around with the setting the step counter is always very different compared to pebble health itself.
I think it would be great if it worked. It keeps freezing up during the installation/setup process. Can't tell if it is actually gonna work or not.. NOT IMPRESSED
Just download this app b/c I got excited about the fact that there could finally be an app out there that integrates Google fit for my pebble. Upon loading it, I could not do anything with it. It seems to be stalled or just extremely sluggish I can't hit any buttons on my screen and have to hit the home key to exit out of it. What gives? Plus why would I give this "pedometer" app access to my files and pictures....why do you need those if your just counting my steps (creepy). Anyways, please fix the lag on this app other wise its not worth it if im struggling to even open it. Ps. I have watched my battery go form 45% to 39% in a matter of 4 min just after installing this app.
It is surprising how rigid the sleeping hours are with this application. I set my sleeping hours from 00 - 07, but woke early, 0630, and because I was supposed to be asleep, it did not record the first 5000 steps of the day, ½ of my goal (I'm just starting…). What is also surprising is the lack of historical activity recording in this Android app, although there is scope for sleep history; for a concept concerned with activity tracking, the absence of history is baffling. And despite a recent install of the Pebble app component, it keeps saying there is an update, so I did the update to the Pebble app, and all the activity data on the Pebble was wiped during the upgrade, albeit it was wrong due to the aforementioned failure to track while I was "asleep", this was a disappointment until the Android app detected the data loss, and sent it back. It appears to be a very heavy battery user on the Pebble too. I'll give it a couple of days to see if it settles into a usable app, but I am not confident.
Sleep data continually pushes its way onto the watch face in the middle of the day, steps seem well below what they should be, not really user friendly, a regrettable purchase
App is not syncing automatically if I don't open it and force sync, so it continuously losts all my statistics. Not recommended.
Downloaded and installed watchapp and companion app for plexfit.. says "No Internet connection" on pebble.. whàts the deal here.. my pebble doesn't sync with the phone either saying pebble failed to respond..but shows that its connected to the app. Scared to purchase the app.. if this is how it works during my trial period of 15days. ... I think I figured it out. . It looks like the latest update is the one with bugs.. the older version works without the no internet notification
It was working fine until the new os update on the watch. Meanwhile, the developer is gone. Already sent the bug report to the developer but they're no response until this review is written.
Not sure if it's an issue just with me but I just installed the app & it took perhaps 10 mins to get it up and running the first time and after that it's taking a really long time to my touch response. And again constantly crashing. Sometimes asking me to recalibrate? Sometimes asking me to update (I am on the latest version, nothing to update). Sometimes asking if I have the app installed on my pebble (which I do). And it's running really sluggish. I'm using a Samsung Note4 running 6.0.1. Any suggestions..
Can I ask what you lose after the 15 free day trial ends, sleep tracking is all I'm bothered about as long as you still have that, I'm fine!
Sync problems, 15 day trial, loses steps etc
Purchased on 2 February but can't reinstall onto new phone and can't get reply from developer to email I sent
Given up on the sleep tracking, but since I paid for the app, nothing has been working well. Latest symptom is that everything shows up fine on the watch, but nothing in this app, nor in Google fit. Months worth of data missing at this point.
My phone's battery life has taken a serious dive. The culprit says it's Google services. If I disconnect Bluetooth and/or uninstall plex from my phone, my battery life is great. Maybe don't have the watch be CONSTANTLY sending the phone step data and not have the app be CONSTANTLY sending Google data... Once every few hours should be an option for both. Great potential here though.
Not sure if it is an issue with pebble or this app but on many days it doesn't sync with Google fit. There also doesn't seem to be a way to force an update.
I started using my pebble as pedometer since they released the health app but because the health app was screwing up my sleep tracking data provided by sleep as android in google fit i was looking for an good alternative... that's where plexfit was kicking in! the pedometer is pretty accurate and consumes nit to much battery, but the best thing is: the sleep-tracking can be completely been turned off (sorry, didn't tried it because as far as i can see, sleep as android provides more detailed data)
This is an update to an earlier post. I had an issue with my phone and lost all my apps. When I reloaded plexfit, it sent me to the trial. I contacted the developer right away and several subsequent times and got a message he has had so many emails it will be a while before he can respond. I still have not been contacted for help with getting my paid account. I have waited months now and plan to Uninstall. Not worth the frustration.
I'm something of a smart watch nerd and have Android Wear and Pebble devices, so hopefully with this (yet to get up off my ar** and do anything yet!) I can seamlessly switch between the three (yes.. 3 watches, they saw me coming) and record everything through Google Fit.
I used to use a MiFit, but decided wearing a fitness tracker plus my Pebble was too much. I tried Misfit and Jawbone up and found that while both of them tracked steps on the watch just fine, neither would sync with software. Not only that, but syncing them to myFitnessPal was hopeless. I decided to try PlexFit for the trail period because it promised to sync with Google Fit (and by way of Google Fit, myFitnessPal). Honestly I didn't have high hopes after all the struggles I had with software backed by big money. Guess what? PlexFit worked out of the box. Not only that it had a cadre of tweaks and amazing features that surpassed Misfit and Jawbone. I purchased a license within 5 days, I've been using it for a few weeks, and I love it. I've also noticed while cruising the internet that the developer is active on nearly every post I found about Plexfit. They work their butt(s) off to communicate with and assist users. Not only that, they are super responsive to user feature requests. This is THE fitness tracker for your Pebble. Seriously, don't waste your time or energy with the rest.
This appears to be a very comprehensive tracker with excellent battery optimization and Google Fit integration. However, I have one MAJOR problem. Menu text on the watch is unreadable due to the developer using ridiculously small text.( eg. The calibration instructions) This maybe due to the recent Pebble OS upgrade. Explanation from developer is a very nice touch. Apart from the small text the app works flawlessly with NO noticeable additional battery drain. Well worth the Pro license.
Red text on blue is really hard to read. How about a black text on white and I will give five stars. At the moment I can't read the numbers on the Pebble because the contrast is too low for this colour combination
It works fine for free but to pass the info on to Google Fit you have to pay $3 and that's too much for what it's worth.
Also, sleep tracking never worked for me. I want to buy the full version for the Google fit integration but I won't do it as long as there are so many issues. Also, the watchapp is poorly designed.
Switched from Pebble Health to Plexfit. After using Plexfit for a solid three days I can say I am convinced that it is awesome. The sync with Google Fit is a huge win for me. Coming from Jawbone Up I didn't know what to expect, however this works wonders. I'm curious as to why Pebble has yet to bake that in. Keep up your amazing work! Thank you.
Loaded onto OG Pebble with Pebble time software. Manually syncing app and it states synced but no data. How long does it take to start syncing data? Would love if this worked.
So much better than Misfit for Android. The best feature for me is the ability to turn off automatic sleep tracking. This allows me to activate and deactivate sleep tracking when I go to bed and when I wake up. I will make it my permanent Pebble watch face if it could detect bluetooth disconnection and give a vibration.

Like the app. seems to sync with no issues. Very easy to use
It's a very consistent tracking app. The best thing is that it syncs with Google Fit. Activities and sleep. Very low power consumption on my Pebble.
The app is in slow motion. I've never witnessed this in an app. I can seemingly get the app to work. It's just in slow motion. When I do something like the menu, I'll sit and wait for it to pull up after a while goes by. The menu even opens and closes in three slow frames.
Sync doesn't work all the time, can't look aat my activity in more detail.
Tracking seems accurate, and the "idle too long" busses are nice. Only major problem is that it sometimes stays in sleep/might mode way too long into the day...resulting in inaccurate step/activity tracking. On an unmodified LG G3 (Verizon).

After recalibrating the pebble app, I seem to be getting more accurate step counts. It syncs with Google fit which is great because Google Fit syns with MyFitnessPal. I've had nothing but problems with my Fitbit Flex, so it's great that I can now use my Pebble as a pedometer. The only thing that was not good (but also not a big deal) is that this Android app is a trial app. It also tracks running, biking, and sleep. After 15 days you need to pay about $3 to keep using. I think $3 is a great deal.
