ChiPubLib for Android
The "Remember me" box which doesn't remember you and signs you out afterwards.
I read all my books and listen to audio books thru this app and the overdrive app. It's perfect
I love it, I can request holds at various branches, organize my reading list, see what books are owed when; it's useful if you use the library a lot! :)
LOVE the website, HATE the app. I mean, EVERYONE has to log in every single time you JUST WANT TO CHECK YOUR HOLDS!!!! Seriously, You know that you can do better than this! I also can't check the description OF ANYTHING with out being shut out of the app and getting a notification that says some crazy BS about an app not being able to process my request. NEEDS FIXING!! (I'm 50/50with the logo)
Always works when I need it without me having to remember my password. Quick, simple, and straightforward.
Not a fan of the new branding/logo, but the look of the app could be refined to be cleaner. Also, whenever I try to renew a book that is already requested by another patron, it returns an error rather than tell me it's already on hold by someone else.
The app appears to be in its early stages. It loads very slow. Hopefully it becomes a great resource as it improves. I do like the concept.
PLEASE HELP! I like how the app is designed, but I don't know how to search books or look at my account! Please help
I still miss those little wooden drawers that had the index cards to find the books.
Mistakenly reported the amount of my fine, and claimed that books where available that weren't. Completely wasted a trip downtown
The CPL app is great! Renew your books, place holds, browse the catalogue, check branch hours, and flag books as being 'for later' or make your own reading lists. A must-have for any Chicago bibliophile.
This has lost all functionality since the March update. Where are the settings? How do I check my account? I could have designed a better app than this!
This app really helps me when I need to renew my
It doesn't look like it really belongs to the CPL! Where is the green background from all other CPL communications, why can't I search from the app but get transfered to the website & have to login again. You could just do that anyway!!!!
Bring back the green logo. Even though I love the color black, I don't like how it makes the new logo look. The green logo looked a lot friendlyer. I don't like the new one.
Bring back the green logo that is on the website, far more compatible with the very organic, gargoyle-trimmed main CPL building and a very welcoming and service-oriented public institution. This isn't a pizza delivery or shopping website. Otherwise, great app.
This new icon is flipping terrible. Bring back the old one (which is still used on the website) if you can't come up with anything better. Also, this thing takes ages to load even the simplest things. You'd think my WiFi was a 2G network.
Refuses Barcode and pin, refuses to send update YUCK
I love this app. It's so easy to find a book and request a hold. I love being able to track my holds and see when one is ready. The search function is pretty solid too. I love the new arrivals and nyt bestsellers list as well, great for new books. This is a really solid app and a must-have if you use the library
The app appears to be in its early stages. It loads very slow. Hopefully it becomes a great resource as it improves. I do like the concept.
This app is very good, convenient, and fast. The perfect feature to add would be the ability/option to pay a fine for overdue material without having to travel all the way to the library...After that update, I'll rate 5 stars. B)

i got confused trying to renew books because the app was laggy and not graceful about not being able to renew one of the books. the website was much clearer about what was going on. nice idea, needs better execution.
Mistakenly reported the amount of my fine, and claimed that books where available that weren't. Completely wasted a trip downtown
This app is slow. It will tell me I have nothing checked out, on hold, no fines, etc., when that's not so. I need it to be accurate. Until then, I may as well use the regular website. Uninstalled.
I installed this app, but all it would do was show a loading screen. The CPL website is much better.
I immediately uninstalled the app.
Can't even download the app!
Can not log on!
Going down the list of movies to put on hold takes forever. It's way too slow to browse and search. I have Unlimited data plan so don't say it's my phone. Other than that, the app is great, I will keep the app for awhile, if I get frustrated, I might go back to the website.
Provides good access to one's CPL account. Much easier to use on a phone than the website, which is not mobile friendly. You can use all the features of the normal website, but in a nice, user friendly app. It's kind of annoying how you need to log in every time you want to view your borrowing or holds, though.
Love the app, but what's annoying about is that whenever I go back a page after being on a page with lots of images, the app has to reload all of the images and information on that page. Takes forever. Would like the app to be able to load just a little faster on pages.
I've been waiting for this app, is wonderful to have this app at the tips of my fingures. I can renew my materials any moment.
It would be most helpful if you could include information on what the app switcher button is on an Android phone. At least until the bug is fixed. After doing a Google search, I finally determined it is the Home Touch button on the lower right on my LG G3. Hope this helps someone else.
Nice App. Functional and works well. Remember to select menu button on your device to access options like books you have and more.
Chicago public library app. Can login view due dates of borrowed items, as well as renew items. Can search for books, and resources.
What app switcher am I suppose to press. Can't see menu on android
I thought I could check my hold status, fees, etc. but nothing works. I'm only able to search books on the recently added and bestseller lists. There is no menu feature. Maybe an issue with droid phone.

I just like having information about Chicago public liberties. The times there open and closed, and the one's open on Sundays.
