聖鮑思高傳 Don Bosco (5)

經過二十多年斷斷續續的艱苦工作後，五冊「聖鮑思高傳」終於全部完成了。筆者要說的第一句話就是：「感謝天主！」因為若沒有天主的助佑，我想是很難完成此項艱鉅工作的。

我說斷斷續續，因為編譯本書並非筆者的主要職務；編譯本書祇是為完成我的初學師蕭希哲神父的一個夙願：他很希望國籍慈幼會士能有一本較詳盡的聖鮑思高傳記，好能更徹底地了解他的精神。於是筆者就從一九八二年初開始一項大膽的嘗試，利用公餘閒暇，把十九冊義大利文的「聖鮑思高言行錄」，濃縮為數冊中文的「聖鮑思高傳」。經歷了不少挫折和辛勞，終於在一九八五年八月十五日、聖母升天節出版了第一冊「聖鮑思高傳」。

怎知此書一出版，便廣受讀者們歡迎，大家都渴望多些了解這位偉大聖人的生平事跡，於是筆者欲罷不能，唯有繼續辛苦地編譯下去，就這樣斷斷續續的於一九八八、一九九六、及二零零一年，先後出版了第二、第三、及第四冊；現在這最後一冊（即第五冊）也終於在二零零四年的聖母升天節出版了。

全書五冊都是按照年份，把聖鮑思高的生平事跡逐一介紹出來。第一冊覆蓋的年份較長（1815－1846），介紹聖人由誕生到創辦慶禮院的約莫三十年的生平事跡。

第二冊（1846－1854）主要敘述聖人由流離失所至定居華道角，並在華道角不斷發展，以至成立了雛型修會團體的前後約八年的歷史。

第三冊所覆蓋的年份（1855－1864），可說是慶禮院的黃金時代。有許多聖德的少年，如聖道明沙維豪、彌格馬高鼐、方濟貝素高等，都在這個時期大放異彩，在聖鮑思高的聖德花園裡爭艷鬥麗。

而第四冊所覆蓋的時期（1865－1877），可說是聖人事業的巔峰期，因為除了建造華道角的聖母進教之佑大殿外，還先後創立了慈幼會、母佑會、協進會，並派遣慈幼會士和母佑會修女前往南美傳教。

至於這第五冊所敘述的，是聖人最後十一年（1878－1888）的事跡，它是修會開始向世界各地擴展的時期；除了在法國、西班牙、比利時等地設立會院外，更前往南美的阿根廷、烏拉圭等地開辦學校。在這段時期中，聖人也獲得了他期待已久的修會特權，並親眼看到賈列勞神父榮升主教。最後，他終於功德圓滿而蒙主寵召，享受天堂永遠的福樂。

筆者在編譯本書之前，對鮑思高神父的認識並不太多，但自從深入研究十九冊的「言行錄」後，才發覺他是一位非常偉大的聖人。他的嘉言懿行和奇恩異寵，多得不可勝數，筆者雖已盡量把那些較重要的事跡轉載下來，但仍可說是掛一漏萬，聊勝於無而已。

鮑思高神父創立慈幼大家庭，迄今祇有短短一個多世紀，但已有許多聖人和聖女。其中除了有主教、神父、修女和非神職修士外，也有學生和在俗人士。足見鮑思高大家庭是一個聖德的大家庭，也可證明天主特別喜愛這個大家庭，因為是祂透過鮑思高神父所創立的。
