Belkin NetCam for Android
It is not an ideal application, but it is not so bad. Unfortunately, after update on Sep, 11 I noticed increased live stream lag (assuming good network). It is around 3 secs now, what is still quite reasonable, I guess. Pros: easily picked up my wi-fi, live feed, working notifications, good support team. Cons: sometimes crashes at live feed start or settings, free trial offers basic plan, so Clips library and video settings do not work and cannot be evaluated, only two screenshots in email notification.
Love having my cam but 50 percent of the time it just doesn't work. I'll hear the sound in the room but video feed won't come in. I've tried reloading, setup install again, even moved and changed Internet service thinking it was the WiFi but still, after 2 years of having this, it's not great. Looking into a different service.
Live stream works 9 times out of 10. It says to check video settings wich i have set up just fine and connection is not the issue.... I wouldn't mind paying for the subscription if it actually worked well.. video , audio and the night vision all work great but that means nothing if u can't watch it
The camera itself is great. Live stream works better without the microphone on. The live streaming is slow or won't load at all, keeps telling me to check camera settings and Internet. Won't load most of the time. I can go into The clips library and view saved clips from there. Please fix this! When it does load it's awesome!
This app has had its ups and downs.. Sometimes when I click the app I have to login everytime, even though it should auto sign in, and also, it takes SOOOOO long to load the video, sometimes it doesn't even load the video, please fix these issues.. TOO many others are having the same issues, it's been soo long and no update has fixed theses issues...
Very disappointed. This worked for a while when we first bought it & is now a constant headache. We might honestly consider paying for the measly 14day cloud backup (originally 30 days & no charge until they "updated" the system), but we're affair it would work as poorly as the app.
I can get a connection and stream less than 30% of the time. Image quality is very poor and their server is unresponsive most of the time. This has become worse since the supposed firmware upgrade to the cameras. Very disappointed in the phone version; product too expensive! I want my money back. Completely worthless product. Rippoff. I have discovered that the cameras work somewhat and the server is available from my iMac apple login; also the 3.0.3 version on my iPad works some of the time.
I have 6 of these cameras to watch both my infant daughter and my 90 year old grandmother. The application works about 30% of the time which is unacceptable! My life is hard enough care taking the 2 of them by myself. I didn't pay $600+ for the application to rarely work! I paid good money because these were very important to me and was expecting to receive a good product! My phone is always connected to my Wi-Fi, so I know that connection isn't the issue. I am so disappointed. Please do something to fix it
Worst app update ever! These cameras SUCK so bad. Do not buy or waste your money! The delay between each screen makes me not even want to use it. Terrible. Just terrible. I want the old version back!
It's great...when it works. Half the time I can never see my video feed and it just has a black screen with a spinning "loading" circle...sometimes the speaker works and I can hear things but still cannot see them. Rarely ever does it work away from home. I use it as a baby monitor and to watch my pets when I am away from home, so it's quite disappointing when it doesn't work and end up having to use my old school baby monitor....
Absolutely abysmal App. I've had the Belkin camera for over 3 months now and the video feed - which is set to medium quality and no microphone and connected to 40Mbps internet connection - loads perhaps 10% of the attempts on a high-end Samsung Galaxy phone. The video feed works almost instantly via laptop so it's definitely the Android app. Terrible, terrible, terrible.
The cam worked great in the beginning until the update was done a few months ago (when the app icon changed). Tried reloading the app several times and no change. Wifi access is decent, 4G is non existent. I hope they find a fix for this soon or I'll have to go with a different manufacturer.
I have had the Webcam for 3 years now. This last year I have had trouble watching any video feed on any android device. It just keeps loading and loading then fails. I heard works great on Apple devices but crap for android. I have changed every setting I could of my feed and still just can't get it to show me my video feed. I spent over 100 dollars on this camera! I can't even get it to play while my phone on the same WiFi as the phone. Wish I could give no stars! I am using a Samsung note 5.
I used the cloud subscription twice. First one in July'16, which worked like magic, and second one in Sept'16, which was a disaster. Motion did not trigger the recording mostly, or created too many of records simply making it impossible to check it. Anyways. This android application is getting better but still not there.
I have to uninstall and then reinstall this app on a regular basis just to get it to work and show my video feed, especially if I am trying to hear the audio as well. I've done everything to reset the camera, so I know that's not the issue.
Works well on ipad but as soon as we load on to Android devices it turns into the biggest heap in the world. Used to work flawlessly on Android and now I am lucky if I get 10 seconds of video stream before I have to restart it. A complete joke
This app has a lot of lag even with the new update. It wont show a live feed most of the time and it crashes. The picture isn't wonderful. I'm not happy but I'm sure glad I can return the camera within 14 days of purchase.
I've had 3 cameras work fine under belkin, once Wemo update it went all down hill, I've uninstalled app countless times and still horrible! Doesn't connect or stream just blacks out! I've made too many attempts to resolve the issue and just tired of being ignored! Please find alternate solutions, do not use Wemo/Belkin. I've stopped selling this product at my location!
I've had three of the Belkin HD cams for over a year. I also have a Nest Dropcam to compare. The Belkin cams are very frustrating. They take a long time to connect to the server and more often than not, they will not connect. I'm not sure if it's a camera problem or web server problem or both. My Dropcam connects in seconds. Yes, the Dropcam is more expensive, but definitely more reliable based on my experience.
Honestly Belkin, is it so hard to make an app work? I mean it works for a while then you decide to do an update, and then it doesn't work. Come on, just fix it and be done with it. It's like this for all your connected devices. Just junk. Will never purchase another item from you again. Don't waste your time with this. Belkin is too unreliable.
Update September 2016: Belkin manages to continually be unreliable. App cannot find the camera after setup, says 'camera unavailable.' WTF. Going to have to replace the Belkin netcams and delete the app off my phone. I'm done.
If I turn off my android phone overnight, the stream quits working with app ['check your internet connection or adjust camera settings' message]. But it still works on web site viewing, so app is the problem. Only fix is complete uninstall & reinstall of app. Painful Belkin. You can do better. FIX THIS!
Apparently work is in progress to fix the streaming issues. This can't happen fast enough. Every update, for approximately the past 6 months, has negatively affected performance. Too bad we can't return to the original version of this app. Features were limited, but at least streaming was functional. Now I have 6 paperweights, that have a hard time holding themselves up.
We used to use this as our baby monitor because the quality of the video was great. After updates the live stream lags for up to thirty seconds or error out before the feed ever loads. Sometimes it loads written sound no video and the lag time makes it so you can't turn the sound on mute so when the baby is crying she actually hears herself screaming for sometime if outside her door looking. It's a great quality cam when we can actually view it which is not often now
(DO NOT PURCHASE THESE CAMERAS) Everything with this system and application was great even to the point where we bought a second camera. Ever since the WeMo change, everything seems to lage and is choppy. It also seems to have a hard time connecting and when it does it disconnects often. Please fix, thank you. Update 12/16/16 still no update to fix.... It's been months.
Now doesn't connect from the web. Only when on the same wifi router. Update - Now won't connect on the same wifi network. Absolute crap app. My cameras are now totally useless. Anyone want two useless pieces of plastic. Free to a good home! Belkin - You owe me 180 quid!!
Used to work pretty well a few months ago. Now when I'm in the same house with a brand new router it almost never works. I get a window after about2 minutes of loading saying to check my internet connection or adjust the picture settings, after turning my settings all the way to terrible, same message. My iPhone is a little better.... Maybe..... Live in a not huge 2bed apartment, if the camera can't get the connection of my router from the living room maybe it should have hard wire option for int.connection
Very buggy..updates cause more issues than they fix. Cams time out...audio takes forever to load. Spend more money and buy something else. Tech support fixes everything by telling you to reinstall the app.
Updated firmware Sept 8 and stll only works sporadically on lowest frame rate, picture resolution and quality. Strangely the audio works perfectly but video is just usually a black screen with whirling circle. Tried reinstalling software but no joy. Customer support just say that they are working on it...8 weeks!
Since the latest update I cannot see the video stream it's just blurry lines but fine when viewed via computer. I have removed and reinstalled but it's the same. Also coincidentally one of my cameras has completely stopped picking up the WiFi so is also useless. I have tried resetting it but nothing works.
App has improved greatly from an older review without any additional action on users part. Video now streams reliably and so does audio on both a Samsung S4 and the latest Samsung S7 and various tablet. Much, much better. Giving camera a static IP address on router seems to solve the endless spinning circle problem.
And often it takes a long time for the camera to connect. Much better before it became WeMo. Lately it's been giving me a "No Internet Connection" when I try to see any of my cams unless I'm on internet via my home Wifi when I attempt it.
A frustrating waste of money, loses connection to wifi signal repeatedly so video stream can not be viewed without resetting camera......which is impossible when you're away from your home. Would not recommend.
As of 9/25/16, this app is still worthless, won't connect, has gotten worse in last few days. Why can't you get this fixed???? Worked good when I first purchased, but after several updates I must say this is Totally Worthless. As of 10 /11/16, still the same old problems on Android. Works OK on Apple. Who writes THEIR program? 12/13/16 Update. %@+!? As of yesterday I can not even log in. I am looking for a new camera from a DIFFERENT company.
App is junk. They claim to have improved connection but each update breaks either connection. Either cellular works and wifi doesn't or in this case, wifi works and cellular doesn't. Using iSecurity+ connets consistently every time so I have just given up on the official Belkin app. Junk.
When it works, it works fantastic. It is down more than it works though and it is a pain in the a** to get reset bc it wont come back on!!! As of rite now it has been down for a week.. i have reset it, factory reset it, changed accounts and tried other wifi to see if that was the problem!! Its getting old..
Trying to load the live stream is so bad. I use in a nursery to check on my child throughout naps and bedtime. Most of the time that little circle just keeps going and I get frustrated or try again later. Out of maybe 6 or 7 times a day I only get 1 or 2 good connections. But it's the only camera I have so I just deal with it.
If you are downloading this for the first time, just pack everything back up in the little box, grab your receipt and go back to the store. The updated app/camera firmware makes this camera effectively useless. Zero streaming! Get a refund and look to a different manufacturer.
Bring back the older version!!! Got a new Samsung 6 phone and tried to set up my 2 cat cams, with no success. Had no problems with the other version and my Samsung 5. NOW WHAT???

This app used to work fine, then some updates and nothing is as it was. Usually get sound and spinning circle on a dark screen. Eventually a pop-up error message telling me to check the internet connection, which is, of course, fine. I have two cams and this is problem with both. I recommend just looking around the internet for a better camera solution than this.
