Handy Art Reference Tool for Android
Highly recommend this app! Although it's very incomplete and only offers a moderate range of hand poses the draw of this app is the adjustable light settings and an additional head model with lights. It's a great tool for shadowing but still lacking as a learning tool for hands. It'd also be nice if there was a sketch view feature as it would make drawing easier.
For an artist learning about anatomy, it's brilliant. Easy to use interface, great lighting control for setting up light sources. You can even send your saved images to most Bluetooth devices to use later. My only critique is, there is no full size posing mannequin. Well worth a try.
This is by far the best art reference app on the marketplace! Male and female hands, feet, numerous styles of human heads, and even animal skulls can all be drawn easier with this reference tool. Adjustable 360° poses and lighting make it truly invaluable! I refuse to be without it, even if I have a full computer nearby, I still refer to Handy first. <3
I think this is a great tool to help with problems of getting better at drawing, since they people have a reference to practice on. What I didn't like about this application is that it costs extra for the foot model and just a minor problem of the model moving about the screen when you go to touch it. Apart from those two things, I think this is an app that will help you to get better at drawing hands.
It would be nice to see a full body pose too. But, it is not a deal breaker. Also, what they do have is what most people have trouble drawing. Hands feet and heads, at certain angles. You can change the lighting too, which is especially useful.
Hands are a massive hinderence to me in artwork. However, this app is an absolute godsend! It's made the whole experience of drawing so much better for me. The app itself is extremely simple to use and just a delight to have available for reference. Whoever makes this, thank you! Completely worth the money and more:)
Really neat little reference app, it helps a lot to control every detail for the hands; it's not always easy to find a photo with the exact pose/angle you want, and this app solves that problem. I would recommend it to anyone who uses references in drawing. I also recommend the use of references to anyone drawing.
Great overall! Just missing something specific: There's a lot of female hand poses with the wrist straight or bending backwards. The few poses that bend forward have very strange finger placement. Just a few poses with basic finger placement and the wrist bending forward will be a great help.
One of the best posing apps out there. Though there is no full body posing as of right now, it targets the areas of most difficulty. The joints are also easy to manipulate and the sliders mean you can get very precise with it.
Love that it has poseability and the dynamic lighting is fantastic. An in-depth manual (no pun intended) would be helpful, though; a lot of the buttons have to be learned through trial and error. Works fine on a phone, so it would be really great on a tablet.
This app has been a lifesaver for drawing hands from any angle, and I highly recommend it to all the artists out there who have difficulty finding good reference images. I re-downloaded it for my new phone after a while of not using it, and it's grown from something with potential to one of the best reference tools I've ever used. While I don't normally buy in-app purchases the foot pack is well worth the extra, too!
I am digging these hand models. There are a lot to choose from. If you are looking for hints and tips on how to draw hands, this is not for you. If you just need a model as reference, this is a good tool. You are able to rotate the hands however you need and there is also the option to change the lighting.
I love this new update. Although is hard to select desired bone to manipulate, but this is good progress. I hope share poses is a thing.
Amazing amazing app. I use this app to draw hands, head and feet with lighting all the time and have improved so much. I would kill to have a fullbody version from you guys!!!!
Really love being able to adjust the poses. Having the option of real joint movement or extreme, is brilliant! This new update is amazing, worth every penny.
I find it very useful for referencing parts of the human anatomy in different perspective. The only thing felt this app needed is to include the torso and legs. Otherwise this app is perfect.
Ver 4 fearutes are useful and handy, but 3d viewing now is very slow on my samsung tab a 8 (sm-p355), as if I switched to 7 years old device.
The addition of rigged models in the last update is really awesome. If anything, having more models (children, old people, bodies, props) even as a separate purchase, is the only improvement I could think of. Really great app.
although this app come in a certain amount of poses, they're generic enough for you to move them around. my favorite part is how you can move the lighting and change its colors for a specific environment! very helpful indeed
I love using this app when I get stuck on a hand/head pose. So worth the price of a cup of coffee!
A must have app for any artist! Where has this been all my life. Lets you use multiple angles and multiple light sources. incredibly helpful
Would love to see the brake-down / anatomy of the hand and feet as well as more options for the female head (especially the planar and topology ones; they are very useful in the male department)
love using it, need to expand available models an add more male and female anatomy, that would be great. All in all super useful
I'm never short of reference with this app. No more excuses for unrealistic hands or badly proportioned heads. Very educational too.
I recommend this to any artist for any reason. Regardless of your reasons, this app will help you
This app help me ALOT when it come to drawing. Simply just LOVE IT
My Suggestions 1) Needs a female foot; The foot model had to be purchased separately and there was no female foot 2) Add skeleton viewing modes for hands & feet 3) Make it possible to bend the model's neck 4) Extend busts to show shoulders 5) Add ability to modify facial expressions 6) Add heads of different races 7) Add child models 8) Add female planar/topology heads/skulls 9) Show cast shadows on the wall 10) Include a cartoon filter 11) Pose two hands together 12) Pose hand(s) holding objects
This is a simple easy to use app...great refrence tools with extra lighting tool...not bad pricing includung when you spend more money with the animal skulls aswell...alot if content with the hands
Nice! But needs more hand poses. I was surprised that feet were not included
Im using my wacom companion and I even purchased the additional animal heads but nothing shows. There is a background but no face or hands or anything
Im loving this app. Its gotta have arms to get 5 stars from me.
I absolutely love this app, its amazing! Best money I've ever spent on an app
Best app to learn anatomy. Waiting for body anatomy references. Wonderful app. Good job.. cheers
I think it could still be improved and it apparently hasn't been touched since July.
Suddenly the hand models are all dark? Can't see anything, adjusting the lighting doesn't help at all
very good reference. too bad you need to pay extra for feet.
Easy to use, great options. Maybe include some children next?
It's exactly what I was looking for in a reference app, and I love it!
Fantastic app my art is thankful ...keep more coming you have woken up my inner Picasso again ....thank you for the inspiration...new features are amazing ....the addition of feet makes this app killer...

I love this app! It's simple, easy to use and very convenient. I am a tattooer and I use it often and find it very handy! It would be nice to see this app one day expand. More selections of various 3d models of human and animal figures with pose-able fearures would be a dream come true! I would seriously pay for an app like that!
