About Meter Beaters
Chicago’s first app to display free street parking based on your time and location inputs. Meter Beaters brings you over 200 miles of street parking. With Meter Beaters, you’ll save money and confidently navigate through Chicago’s confusing parking signs. We’ve seen too many drivers pay for a meter or garage with available free parking just feet away. Don’t let that that to be you! Give yourself the opportunity and confidence to find free parking.
How does it work? We’ve collected all sorts of Chicago parking data and developed our application so you can input where and when you want to find free street parking. Using your inputs and our organized data, we’ll map the free parking for you. Our data encompasses the enforcement time periods for permit zones, meter zones, loading zones, rush hour zones and other restrictions.

Enter the street address where you are parked and MeterBeaters will notify you the day before and morning cleaning for that location. No more street cleaning tickets!
For the times you can’t find free parking in your desired area, we’ve included an interactive meter map as well. We understand finding free parking isn’t realistic for every situation but we want to give you the best opportunity to find it first. Have a residential parking permit or been gifted a pass? We’ve included a permit map to explore the boundaries of each permit zone. Type in a permit number and we'll show you exactly where you can park on the map and in a convenient and easy to read list view of addresses.
Meter Beaters currently brings you street parking options in the following neighborhoods: Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Old Town, River North, Wicker Park, Bucktown, Gold Coast, Streeterville, Buena Park, Goose Island, Noble Square, Near North, SoNo, West Loop, South Loop. We will continue to add new areas and update parking locations.

UI is confusing (and ugly), UX is often aggravating (back button closes app when sub menu is open, annoying location toasts/dialogs). Info about parking seems inaccurate/lacking in many areas.

Parking monitored up north in Avondale by home (way less traveled than in....) but not available in hoods like Old Town at all. I know there's parking up north its the closer to downtown places that would be more helpful to know.

I have been using this for about a week and F'ING LOVE this APP, it shows you ways to outsmart the parking officers and park for free all over the city. The best is when you can park your car overnight on the street in the Loop and walk back out to your car and find NO TICKETS! Woop Woopp! I feel like Macguyver while using this app and finding the "Secret Spots" within the city BOOM I would also like for the map to be seen on the website to map out parking

I am not familiar with the city and I use this App every time. It makes me feel safe when I see Free Parking. Lock the car and walk away.

Took forever to load parking results, the startup screen would stay there for about 3 minutes before I could do anything. App was unreliable and slow. I didn't even know there was a map feature until I was back home over 2 hours away. If the map doesn't work while you are in Chicago it is pretty useless.

Would not accept any address I put in, nor would the GPS link accurately. Has not worked after 10+ tries to use this worthless app.
