Beanhunter

Travel a fair amount through the suburbs of Brisbane each day for work. Bean Hunter has lead me to many great places. Unfortunately my work mate and I are unable to read previous reviews now. Please fix soon. (We are both use Android)

I've used Beanhunter everywhere from Beijing to Edinburgh, Nashville to Vancouver to find good coffee. The app is still a bit buggy - often the button for re-ordering the results by distance doesn't work for some reason. But when you're looking for a proper flat white amid a sea of Starbucks and Costas, Beanhunter is invaluable.

Just google instead. Such a promising app. Have been hoping it would live up to its potential for five years. Hasn't been updated for for years. Have found this app flakey, buggy unmaintained and easily gamed. on droid and ios. There seem to have been no improvements. Such a sad shame to have cornered a niche and let it go to waste

Guys, I hope someone is reading this. Please urgently find a developer to solve some of your issues. I have been reviewing on beanhunter. for months now. I love this app and it's ability to save me from the incredibly horrific coffee out there. I travel a lot for work and this is open as much as my Google maps! Recently I had to re-download my apps and since then your app no longer displays any comments. I only see the header with name and address. I think the other bugs are addressed here. Fix pls!

It's 90% of a functional app. Unfortunately the search and location detection don't work properly. It's useful in small towns where you just need to know if there is somewhere to get a decent coffee. But in big cities, hopeless. Not updated for four years.

The app is riddled with bugs. The web page isn't much better. But the service is invaluable so what choice have I got? At least until some develops the same service but without the countless frustrating bugs.

S3 phone: can't add a cafe, get errors. Can't sort by reviews or anything. Only thing that works is "near me", which isn't much. So I wanted my places near Temecula, get errors....

Always comes up with an error when trying to submit a review & create a new place... Fix it because its been like this for months. .. Potential to be an awesome app otherwise. Beanhunter I'm Uninstalling now....Took too long fix...aint nobody got time for dat!!!!

Can't log in via app. Keep getting booted to web page, where I need to sign into fb for account access. Major pita when wanting to post a quick review. Android. Please contact me for app support. More stars possible.

Just saw the iPhone 2.0 release and immediately installed the Android version. Which is sadly 1.x. Yeah, very sad. GPS doesn't work and neither does search. It can't even find Starbucks! Weak sauce.

I have loved this app for years. It used to work well and had guidance sliders for consistent ratings by different users. Its core purpose for me is to find good coffee in unfamiliar locations. Fail. Does not access phone's location services. Very disappointing execution of a brilliant idea. It was simple and now it's broken.

I find the feedback from others very important, so an app like this would be great. I just had a god awful cup of coffee and wanted to warn others. However I received the error message. I searched around but could not find a solution.

Good idea but should be able to filter rating on just coffee. Also when writing a review it's hard to judge atmosphere and service when getting a takeaway coffee. Effects overall rating of Cafe unfairly.

Had this on iOS and it was great and easy to use. Is such a mess on android unfortunately, not an intuitive layout and need to search through the tabs and then re-find the cafe to get reviews

Because my girlfriend has the macintosh version I can't help comparing it to that. As a concept it's great. Despite the clunky interface and not being able to navigate by map, it has all the info. Generally I find its most helpful overseas or out in country Oz. If you find one with a couple of reviews while travelling through warracknabeal generally you're onto a winner.

It gets three stars because there are distances shown from my device location, but it would get four or five if it would display a map, like the ios version. It helps to have a map to know where you are in relation to everything else

Emailed them some months ago about not being able to post reviews and received no replies.

An update, while the app worked for a little while, it's back to 'Error submitting review' ' i have been sampling cafes in the Canadian Rockies hoping to add a few good cafes I found, but no luck... I had to use yelp and google instead. This app is fast becoming irrelevant from being one of the best apps out there! Last updated in 2012. Please update the android version and fix these issues. Honesty it might be better to sell the app to someone who can manage it properly

...but it just isn't. Buggy, poor interface, very frustrating problems like adding new cafes failing on the final step, with completely unhelpful error messges.

I love the idea of beanhunter, but hate this app. Nothing works! How on earth can you manage to put an app out where not one thing works? It says my email is invalid but won't tell me why, it won't let me submit a new cafe or add a review, it keeps telling me to add a photo but won't let me actually add a photo. I can't access any error logs and the android version was last updated 2012!!what is the thinking here? Only apple users drink coffee? Or you can't get an android developer?

Having used the app daily on iOS and returning to Android - to have an app that hasn't been updated in nearly 4 years is a disgrace. There is nowhere near the functionality. GPS service does not work. You cannot even read half of the information available regarding reviews or the cafe in question. Android has moved away from Gingerbread based app design like this one into Material design - perhaps if you realised just as many people use Android as well as Apple devices (since we are nearly into 2016)...

Love the app when it works but every update introduces new bugs. GPS issue seems fixed but now I receive "error uploading review' every time I try and rate a cafe.

Love this app... But after seeing the same app on a friends iPhone I am annoyed that the same options are not available to us ie bringing up search results of cafes that are actually open. Please fix

keep getting incorrect username or password error. even though I can log into website using username and password. the app rejects login. almost unusable now. so sad. have travelled the world with beanhunter till now.

Tried changing password from computer and all that I can think of but I just couldn't login in the app. Really annoying cause it's quite a useful app

Many cafes that have closed. Map function searches Google Maps by business name rather than actual address, which means you often get the wrong location or wrong business. Google should bin apps like this that are abandoned by the owners. Last update in 2012.

Seems like there has been more time put into the iPhone app in terms filtering out places with only a couple of reviews when looking at the top rated cafes. If anything could be done about that this app would be worth 5* imo

I love the idea of this app but on HTC, search function not working and I'm not able to submit reviews. So it's pointless!

It opens but that's it. Every time I do something it just says "Unfortunately beanhunter has stopped working".

I always run in to errors with this app. Especially when submitting a review. Which is subsequently wasted when I get the error. Good for locating cafes while traveling however. Error is 'error submitting reviews' consistently.

App is broken. Owner has known it needs fixing since 2012. They say "...use the website, it looks just like the IOS version". Can't add a cafe or submit a review. Get error message only after adding all data. The data is also out of date as there are cafés listed here that are long gone.

Brilliant concept, I use it regularly now to find great coffee. BUT! Impossible to give my own reviews, isn't that the whole point of this App. Please fix & you'll get 5/5.

Everything I tried to do on the android version of this app vaused it to crash. Would be nice to have map functionality built in too.

Cannot search for location or Cafe name. What's the point if you can't find a cafe

I've tried 6 times to add a cafe. Each time I get an error message. So I gave up. Is this because I'm adding a location in the states? Would love to use this app and share it with friends but sorry, no-can-do, till this app gets fixed/is reliable.

Central Sydney averaging one review per cafe. Useless to tell what might be good.

The "near me" function doesn't work on my S5, which makes it useless for finding cafés in a new area when traveling. Considering the app hasn't been updated since October 2012, it's not surprising. Fix this and I'll be keen.

Can't find cafes, can't review, can't do anything. Just doesn't work. Samsung Galaxy S5 user.
