Pit Pal License - Pro Edition for Android
I thought this would be a good app to keep notes of my smoker runs, by making entries at the push of a button. Well, the buttons are pretty small, and if you push the wrong button, there's no way to erase the one entry. I asked for tech support, and they told me to click on the delete button, top right. Well that deleted ALL my data, and I lost my entire log. Thanks a lot! I paid for the full verison for the charting feature. Well, it doesn't let you export the graph. What's the point? $2 wasted.
The cook chart is impossible to read - text is WAY too small. Zooming in changes the scale of the graph but not the size of the text. Also, no way to export the chart or edit notes once entered. Overall, buttons are too small and interface is not intuitive. Finally, it doesn't send the initial temperature setting to my CyberQ. I figured that out the hard way when the BBQ Guru took my BGE to 350 (previous cook temp) instead of 235. When I realized what was happening, I changed the cook temp to 236, saved it, and then set it back to 235. That forced it to send the set temp to the CyberQ. Lesson learned.
I envisioned boasting my cook graphs and data to my envious neighbors and getting to watch them turn green as I bask in the glory of amazing technology. I thought it was a sure thing! ..nooope!. I took one look at that horrid excuse for a graph and said, " you gotta me kidding me!" All my underprivileged friends would just see a blue and red squiggly line and laugh. I'd be the butt of jokes for weeks. This irked me so much, I'm back in college, getting a computer science degree just to make my own app!
I had problems with this app, because there is no useful instructions on how to configure it correctly, I emailed the developer yesterday and still haven't heard from him. But I installed another app that is more basic and had similar problems but that developer got back to me very quickly, hours later actually. I have the Stoker 2 and was inputting the incorrect ip, I was possibly using the ipv6 protocol numbers and the stoker only works off the ipv4, once I got that set of ip address numbers It worked. I think there are a few upgrades that should be made starting with a better gui. Really a more basic start screen with out having to go to different pages. I haven't used it for a cook yet but I have my stoker 2 online at home so I could figure this out today during lunch etc. I want to give it 5 stars but a pain in the ass gui keeps it at 4. I'm really only interested in alarms for when I'm sleeping.
Had this app installed for over 18 months hoping an update would address all the Stoker 2 Wifi connectivity issues. Whilst there have been a couple of updates, all problems persist. All the app can do is read the probe temperature... That's it. It can't make temp changes. Dev clearly has no plans to fix this (I emailed him back in the day). Just change the description to say it doesn't support the Stoker 2 Wifi... Because it doesn't.
Celsius can be set but has no effect, still shows Fahrenheit. After correspondence with the dev he said it's on the to-do list. So far no new version since I asked in 2015. App works fine, could use some interface update tho', if you are a Celsius fan it's a waste of money....
Fantastic app, exactly what I was looking for. Great front end for the Digiq. Super stable accurate, logged my cook. Can't fault it and would have paid $50 for it

This app sucks I bought and downloaded like ten times.... Is says it installed successfully but it doesn't..... Doesn't even open
Such a great app. It is essentially a monitor that also has a quick button to open the browser if you wish to make any changes. Great display and cooking diagrams
Temperature notifications were annoying. I set the notification a little lower than my goal. I got 3 notifications at once when a temp was reached and they kept on coming every few minutes. Sometimes just one, sometimes 2 or 3. With no way delete the notification request. Exporting of the log did not include the trending data. I haven't deleted the cook, so maybe this will come in the future. Cook screen has no auto refresh if left open. if there had been a trial version, I wouldn't have purchased this app.
Apparently the latest stoker software requires reworking the app. It's been about 6 months and the app hasn't been updated. Think development may have stalled/ceased
Humm. I just spent $375.00 on the unit and $100.00 on a $10.00 computer fan. Now you guys want to nickel and dime me for $2.00 for the app.??!! Tisk Tisk!!
If you need training wheels for BBQ
This is a pretty nice app and it works very nicely with my BBQ Guru Wifi and Big Green Egg. My only major gripe is that the Over/Under Temp alerts fire constantly, so my phone will buzz constantly. This is good overnight if I'm sleeping, but annoying if I'm at work and it's 1 or 2 degrees over my alert temperature. Maybe we could have a few different alert profiles, a "WAKE ME FROM THE DEAD!" one to handle major alerts in the middle of the night, and a less frequent, "polite" alert profile to send infrequent reminders (once every 15 minutes?) for daytime where you might not need to actually take action, but do want to actively monitor? Anyways, overall I'm very happy. It makes grilling much more fun and super simple to do, I just want more control over how the alerts work.
I love this app for tracking my cooks. The graphs, and notes are a great way to keep track of everything. I do wish it would work landscape as well as portrait, especially for the graph, but otherwise, I love it.
How do you make an awesome product like the CyberQ by BBQGuru even better ? Easy... This app!!! Great UI, stable, and has the features I need for my home and competition cooks.

After a few test runs and in the middle of another I think it needs some polish. Running the cyberQ and am still relying on the stock web UI to keep it delicious. The ideas are in there, but I've found the app doesn't work all that well. Alerts don't alert, changes don't seem to propagate to the stock UI, chart stops charting, I can't add food to a started cook, etc etc etc.. . I'm cool with it though for the price and it's definitely on track for greatness, maintain your scope and keep at it.
Much easier than keeping track on paper. Even if you dont have wifi very easy to manually put in information. I like the notification feature. Highly recommend and the pro version worth the small price.

I just received my CyberQ wifi today, and I'm pretty sure that this app is going to be the perfect tool to manage it remotely. My only issue that I can see so far is that I have to disable the password on the CyberQ in order for the app to work. I'm looking forward to the addition of support for this.
So far so good, had a little initial user error but email sent to builder and got a quick response. I recommend

Would like to see data export in tabular format.
This is great app with CyberQ Wifi. Snapshot of temps and time. Keep notes and data for each cook. Chart is especially useful for monitoring pit and food. Navigation buttons at bottom of each screen would be helpful. Website could also use FAQ section. New app so looking forward to updates.
I paid for app and installed but was not on my phone anywhere. Never had this happen with any app before. Thanks for fast response ill try out in-depth this weekend and give update seems to be working fine now.
Hey dev team, please increase the size or provide a setting for the fonts. The time/temp chart is illegible b/c the text is super tiny.
