About The Pit Pal BBQ App
The Pit Pal is an all-inclusive BBQ app for your Android mobile device. It was built with the end goal of being able to help produce more consistent BBQ for backyard cooks, competitors, as well as caterers and restaurateurs.
The Pit Pal enables more consistent BBQ through the use of historical tracking of cooks and results taking into account common BBQ variables such as the temperature and duration of the cook, or the sauce/rub combination, or even the type of wood used or the weather at the time of the cook. Tracking these variables allows the pit master to look back at previous cooks and continue to cook and tweak variables until the perfect combination is hit. And then have the data to replicate that combination at any time.
This is a technique that teams on the BBQ competition circuit have been using for years only with a pen & paper or excel spreadsheets. The intent of The Pit Pal is to take this technique, leverage technology to improve on it, and help people with a passion for BBQ produce great food.

Will have access to some future enhancements with the ability to upgrade as needed.
* PAID Competitor Edition – This is the full blown version with all functionality, unlimited cook history, no advertising, and access to all future enhancements. It also helps support further development of The Pit Pal and funds future enhancements. We think the price is extremely reasonable considering it probably costs more to buy a pen & paper these days :)

Works really well. You can store a lot of data on your cooks. Integrates with bbqguru very well. My only issue is you that the trends are hard to read and I do not see a way to adjust. It would be nice if you could Change setting and set point on the guru as well.

Had this app installed for over 18 months hoping an update would address all the Stoker 2 Wifi connectivity issues. Whilst there have been a couple of updates, all problems persist. All the app can do is read the probe temperature... That's it. It can't make temp changes. Dev clearly has no plans to fix this (I emailed him back in the day). Just change the description to say it doesn't support the Stoker 2 Wifi... Because it doesn't.

I wanted to love this app... but it's lackluster at best. No horizontal graph view. The graph line is thin as spider silk, the numbers along the graphed line are microscopic even on a s7 edge with a 5.5 inch screen. I have to take a screen shot and zoom in on the picture to see the graph numbers because when you zoom in on the graph, it remains the same microscopic font. I smoked a butt for 20 hours and the app stopped logging information during the last 8 hours while I was asleep, not worth money.

This is a nice app to work with the CyberQ for keeping an eye on your pit without actually having you go outside and constantly check on it. Being able to remotely monitor pit and meat temperatures allows me to get other things done around the house and even run out to the store if I need to!

I have a stoker set up on my computer but this app never sees it even though I have the right IP address I can't make it work and that directions are atrocious find something else

Seems to work quite well with the Cyberq WiFi. Even works with a user name/password for remote use since you have to open the CyberQ up to the Internet. Money well spent!

When configuring a cook, various fields and buttons are not intuitive, ex: is it the ambient temp, the current cooker temp, the goal temp? Needs better prompts for ease of use.

Using this app to interface with the BBQ Guru Cyberq wifi on my Kamado Joe classic. Love being able to see the graphs! It allows me to visualize my cook! The time and temperature alerts are great! I also love being able to take notes. For improvements, numbers on the graph are hard to read and I can't get the set target probe temp to work.

Works perfectly with my Cyber Q WiFi. Can check on my cook when I am out and adjust temps if needed. Also great to be able to check on a cook from bed at 3 AM rather than having to get up and heading outside to smoker.

I use this for the CyberQ with my Weber Smokey Mountain. I absolutely love the logging feature to help me see when the stall is happening on the graph. Definitely beats the web interface on the CyberQ. Leaving the house and checking on my meat on the phone while I'm at church on Sunday morning is easy with this app!
