"Kedarnath Bhattacharya, better known as Kumar Sanu, is a leading Indian playback singer, mostly popular for rendering his voice in Bollywood movies in the 1990s and early 2000.He is considered to be one of the greatest playback singers in the history of Bollywood.In the four decades that he was active, he sang for most of the top male actors.He added his delectable nuances to the melody and made these songs immortal.His voice had this unique feature of screen adaptability and when it merged with his intelligence as a singer it helped him to tailor his voice across an array of faces that remain entrenched in our memory books.He holds the Guinness Book world record for recording the maximum number of songs in a day, 28, in the year 1993. He was awarded the Filmfare Best Male Playback Singer Award for five consecutive years. In 2009, the Government of India awarded him Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour, in recognition of his achievements.
